Here is a recent local news report from Missouri; probably one of the funniest I have seen in a long time. (Tip to Onegoodmove.org) - enjoy.
The Sound of a Smoke-Free Barack...Mo Rocca appears on a bunch of shows, including CBS News Sunday Morning (with the indescribably wonderful Charles Osgood), The Tonight Show on NBC, and NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! He's a sometime judge on Iron Chef and was featured on Telemundo's Amore Descarado. Last year he starred on Broadway in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His expose "All the President's Pets" was published by Crown in 2004.

16. Heh. This is amusing. Substituting the FSM for God just shows that in a pinch, many people need to believe that something -- someone -- created this universe.
I agree with a cult singing group called "David Peel and the Lower East Side" back in the 60s-70s, who said, "God is whatever you want him to be."
That's it, pure and simple

17. interesting,
well, thank you for the reply lizard.
you did it in your own "lizard" fashion.
it did help clarify any confusion i was having.
and for the record,
i actually found your witty phrase funny and was not being patronizing.
i am also not a "liberal",
at least not in the polemic argument sense.
it may be why i agree with some of your posts.
i believe whole-heartedly in common sense, and for that to be effective,it takes knowledge, discussion and debate.
the more facts we have, the better equipped we are to make a more informed decision.
i have never met anyone who could be singularly put into a category of "liberal" or " conservative",this is a media creation,it simply does not exist.
till next time..peace.

18. This is all rather silly, but just a joke, folks. All the neocons on here can relax. Fear not, Lizard and Clint, the white religious male is under no threat.
It seems any time the white religious male feels he is under attack or PERCEIVES he is under attack, he loses all sense of humor or perspective.

19. Your young people can say all you want about this campus slur at making fun of Christians. One thing you best look at is why #1 have these so called tomarrow's generation have nothing better to do with their time than generate a movement to drag Jesus through the mud againg(sorry that's already been done, no news there), #2 Trying to be funny at who's expense, I see nothing humorous there at that website, (they are making fun of our heavenly father, regardless how you want to color it). #3. If it is not to much of a problem for you, kindly go to the oldest book in the history today, which coincidentally is still the #1 on the best selling books list and start looking at it. Go read for yourselves and see what is a stake here. That is the rest of your lives and for eternity or do you have the stomach to realize that this life is only setting the stage for what is to come. So you want a little fun in your life read the book, it comes with very good and moral fun for you to have the rest of your life and when it is your turn to leave this place and God's Time (no one else's) where will that leave you? Go ask the FSM if they have the answer to that!!!!!! Rita

21. This may be a bit off-topic so I would appreciate any direction you might have to get this in front of the best audience. Thanks.
I am trying to polish the wording. Any feedback or pointers to others who have already created this would be appreciated. Again Thanks.
Arthur C. Clarke, a fairly well-know author and scientist, created three "laws", the third of which is, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." I would like to offer a corollary, "Any sufficiently complex natural process is indistinguishable from divine intervention."

22. Too heck with this nonsense, if you want to read a really great and exciting book about a young marine's adventures in South Vietnam then read. "Arc Light" by G.V. Short. It not only pertains to what we are experiencing in Iraq, but also all around the world. Describing the Military/industrial/mafia/ media complex at its worst, it's full of gory combat, sex, drugs, and rock & roll.

24. The atheist, since his own childish theories hold no merit of their own on which to stand, and since the absolute truth of the Supreme Lord cannot be challenged directly by any means, all too often mentions such bizarre things as "spaghetti monster," "mermaids," "sky faeries," and a myriad of other ridiculous straw-man arguments that he manufactures in his fertile imagination. The straw-man argument is perhaps the most shameful and childish of all the logical fallacies, and among the very favorites of the atheist.
The fact is that the ungodly atheist is afraid to face the issue directly, and the issue is simply that God's personal and intelligent plan for the highly structured, ordered, and variegated universe that we all experience every day makes much more sense as its ultimate origin than such silly, mythological concepts as "chance," "randomness," and "evolution theory."
It is physically, logically, and mathematically impossible to derive life from nonliving chemicals, personality from some imaginary, impersonal system of “chance,” or any amount of greater intelligence from any amount of lesser intelligence. The conclusion is that all life comes from life, all personality comes from personality, and all relative intelligence comes from absolute intelligence.
There is not so much as one single example, in the experience of any scientist throughout all time, of one species being observed producing a member of another species. Conversely, every nanosecond, every millisecond, every instant, every moment, every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year, every decade, every lifetime, every generation, every century, every millennium, every epoch, every aeon, every era, and every age, since time immemorial, and right down the line, to this very red-hot nanosecond, what we observe, each and every time, without fail, adjustment, or substitution, is that each respective species produces members of its very own, very same species. There is absolutely not so much as a single example, throughout the entire history of all time, of crossover from one species to any other species. There is none, none, none -- none at all.
Only the insane can neglect these facts and insist upon the foolish, illogical convolutions of "evolution theory" instead.
