2. It seems to me Mitt Romney and his "boys" are using a drug much more powerful and dangerous than marijuana. Whatever it is, it produces feelings of superiority, elitism and contempt.

3. It's not quite a 'macaca' moment, but the way Mitt dismisses the guy in the wheelchair and responds to the question is not going to play well for his image. Very flip and uncaring, almost arrogant, much in the George Bush style. Virtually any Dem would have handled it much better.

4. Americans are as stupid as the day is long. Today, all over America, courts are being called into session and in every one of them there is at least one case involving someone caught using, selling, or buying marijuana. Is our current policy a deterent? NO. Is our current policy a moneymaking scam used to put money in city coffers all over America? YES. Is our current policy a moneymaking scam for the lawyers (who incidentely passed the laws making marijuana a crime)? YES.
A recent federal study found that, statistically, people who smoke marijuana and drive are LESS LIKELY to be involved in an accident, because they tend not to speed, not to have road rage, and not to change lanes...they just cruise along from point A to point B in relative bliss.
I saw an interesting story a couple of years ago on Court TV about a woman driving a bus whose bus was involved in an accident for which even the prosecutor admitted she was not at fault, had no control over, and had done everything she could to avoid...but she was tested for drugs and tested positive for marijuana and was subjected to a mandatory sentence of something like 20 years.
Americans are as stupid as the day is long.

5. the war on drugs=
a prison population of 2.3 million(thats a major cities population),more than the rest of the world's prison population combined.
80% non-violent offenders,65% of those are there for weed.
a 200 billion$ budget that has become a juggernaut of red tape and politics, that has not only interfered with americans lives, but that of foreign countries.
after over 30 years of this failed policy, drugs are easier to attain, cheaper and STRONGER.
weed has been proven to be non-addictive,little or no long term side effects and is relatively harmless.
yet in many states smoking this innocuous weed is considered a crime.
creating criminal's out of non-violent,peaceful people just minding their own business smoking a bit o weed is a crime in itself.
the criminalization of something that someone does in their own home,on their property, should never be a crime.
if,however, they drive impaired or through callous behavior, harm other's,that should be dealt with just like alcohol.
the criminalization of weed was propagated by anslinger in the 1940's.through his rabid lobbying against the "devils weed" he brought about the criminalization of pot.
this is an archaic and redundant law and needs to be expunged.
the propaganda anslinger flooded the media with used bad science and scare tactics to get his agenda through legislature.it was wrong then and its wrong now.people who are not criminals are being persecuted for something they do that harms no one.
this is a fundamental question of social acceptability.in the 1930's,the anglican church pressured lawmaker's to make booze ill-legal,they succeeded.it was called prohibition, and it was a collosal failure.
prohibition gave birth to the speak-easy,black market booze.criminal elements moved in quickly to fill this very lucrative business and so began the long run of the mafia.
prohibition also gave rise to the wealth and power of the kennedy's,and to this day, they receive money for every bottle of scotch that enters this country.
now here is the dilemma,
while i believe weed should be de-criminalized,
what is the best path to choose?
if america de-criminalizes weed and treats it much like we do alcohol,
that could mean millions in tax revenue and regulation.
BUT.....
what do we do with the huge law enforcement, judicial and correction system we have in place right now?
if weed is legalized,
what does that mean for the many counties and municipalities that count on government subsidies for jails and prisons?
police officers?
judges?
clerks?
janitors,
food service..
the list is MASSIVE.
those are all people, who have families, mortgages etc.
see where im going with this?
if we legalize weed, which i believe is the correct choice, how do we do so without causing so many tens of thousands to lose their jobs?
this is the dilemma..
and its a big one.
for they both have a moral imperative.
its something to think about.
till next time..peace.

6. Saw Mitt 'the Artfull Dodger' on alternet.org a few hours back. Man, Mormon and all that, just moves on and leaves that boy in his chair with not as much as a 'Hope you feel well, I'll pray for you'. Mormon, yeah?
Medical Marijuana, what is wrong with this country , they'd rather he was on a fentinyl patch and oxy's. Shameful.

8. The Nazis followed orders to harm innocent people for nothing. Those who ordered such crimes were tried at the Nuremberg Trials following the war. To answer the question brought up by Enoch, DDS, perhaps we should put all those on trial who sent these innocent people to live in cages in the first place, including lawmakers, prosecutors, judges and law enforcement officers, and when we let those who've harmed no one out, those who have harmed innocent people on purpose could serve a little time, saving all those jobs you were talking about at least for awhile. After all, just following orders to harm innocent people is no excuse for doing so, is it? Do not these people have a responsibility to find out why this plant became illegal in the first place? As Enoch, DDS pointed out, it was almost entirely due to one man, Harry Anslinger, yet he had no valid reasons for what he did. Think about all the suffering this one man has caused. It's mind boggling, but he could've never succeeded without the "help" of others. As Hitler admitted himself, "What luck for the rulers that men do not think," and the Milgram Experiments demonstrated that nearly two out of three are willing to shock a person to death merely because ordered to do so by an authority figure. By the way, media marginalized Democratic candidate Mike Gravel wants to legalize cannabis. Unlike Rudy, this man's a real hero, being responsible for the release of The Pentagon Papers in the early 70's. Rudy never put himself in harm's way, he merely jumped at the chance to walk in front of television cameras, while barricading Gracie Mansion as well as the hospital across the street, delaying treatment of emergency patients for months following 9-11, all due his own paranoia and delusions of grandiosity which have increasingly become a reality thanks to the elite media. Mike Gravel stood up to the Pentagon, and really did put himself in harm's way for the sake of others. That's the kind of president we need. - Dr. Kenneth J. Hildebrandt - http://majormediabypass.com

10. Hypocrite Mormons can't drink coffee because it has caffeine but can drink Pepsi, since they own the company, and you expect him to be in favor of MJ? How many of you have been to the Glorious Peoples Mormon Republic of Utah, where in order to get a drink you have to buy something to eat along with it, or pay $10 - $20 to join a "club". Romney is just another elitist swine, MJ should be legal for all, not just those in medical need.

15. # 5 Enoch, (see #8) Now look what you've done, Enoch!
You have a way of "smoking" out, (heh,heh..I love those puns), the web's finest! Be sure to visit Dr.Ken's UFO research web page.. (I'm not joking)
I think Dr. Ken is 'spacey' enough without firing up the peyote. Please don't encourage him. Anyway, hard to take anyone's essay seriously, that opens with; "The Nazis."
Another great quote from the book of; "Enoch-High-The-Science-Guy"--- "If America decriminalizes weed and treats it much like we do alcohol, that could mean millions in tax revenue and regulation."
That's the first time I've ever heard the assertion that by promoting mind altering substances, a country could tax itself into prosperity. Wait..ok you got me..I forgot about Colombia. 'Super' idea. Tough noogies if a few thousand more people are killed by impaired drivers or are robbed/murdered for the money to buy more drugs. As long as we make money off of it. Uh oh, Enoch..I just thought of an interesting contradiction with this theory, and your own beliefs.. Aren't you against the war because it "needlessly kills people," and is just a "war for oil," ie; revenue? Seems like the drug trade that you're promoting would be doing much of the same thing, eh?
Booyah! Hit by another Lizard truth bomb.
