46. While we are wondering why certain people aren't fired for what they say, could you let us know why you vote for and support Senator Byrd, former Grand Wizard of the KKK? Keep in mind the acts that he directed against blacks during the time he led Clan. Also he has never been charged with any crime but I don't think its stretching things to say that leading an organization thats only agenda is to terrorize and kill blacks requires that you direct those activities. When you self rightious folks take care of Byrd I'll be willing to listen to you wring your hands about what other people say that offends you. Byrd offends me and the fact he doesn't offend you says all that's needed about you.

47. I know this is going to sound stupid, but who cares. One of the leading causes of death for young black Americans is violence, mostly gun voilence. Most of those deaths are caused by other young black Americans. So, if I had heard that some black people had been shot, and I didn't know the race of the shooter I would probably assume that the shooter was black until I heard otherwise. That doesn't make me a racist, that makes me aware of the odds of a black person being murdered by anyone other than another black person. That said, Mr. Gibson shouldn't have made assumptions and given his oppinions on a story, as a reporter, until he had his facts right. In fact he should probably keep his opinions to himself from now on. Unless it's about how to get on a tv show that is supposed to inform people about issues without actually having a clue yourself. That's something I would like to hear about from Mr. Gibson.

48. Gibson was not wrong to assume this was a black kid - he was just wrong when the facts came to light. The fact is that most violent crimes are committed by blacks (1,386 per 100,000 - murder and robbery). White Americans only commit 5.1 (the govt also includes mexicans into the White category) which is even fewer than the British (7.4) who are completely disarmed of their weapons, proving that Whites do not have a unique culture of violence nor inadequate gun laws. America has a high crime rate because we have something the Brits do not have: a large number of violent blacks. It's just that the white crimes are pushed to the top headlines and the black crimes (most of which are committed against whites - 45%) are ignored by the media. (source FBI Uniform Crime Report)

51. Those who try to equate Trent Lott with Robert Byrd are dead wrong. Excuse me, but Lott was never in the Klan. He was a segregationist back in college. That was a long time ago and he's repudiated that stance. That's quite a bit different from being in the Klan.

And back at the time Lott was in college, there was a pretty fair number of folks, both black and white, who were also segregationists. While it's certainly nothing to brag about, we're clearly talking about apples and oranges here. But why let a few facts get in the way when we're trying to smear people?

53. You know how many black kids do these school mass murders? None! Sure, they get in trouble connected with OTHER things but the phenomenon of kids walking into schools and opening fire is solely a white kid thing, speaking as a white person myself.

The bigger problem today is that we are not teaching our children to not push anyone away from them and to get to know everyone. Seriously, if this kid had a lot of friends, he probably wouldn't have done this.

It is always the loners, speaking as one myself.... though not really out of choice when I was in high school. Sure, I had a lot of FEMALE companionship during high school.... not so much friendships with people of both sexes.

54. We can talk about this issue until doom’s day but the fact is this: FOX News Network, like all the other networks are not in the news business, they are in the entertainment business. Television, including the so-called “All News” networks, is all about entertainment; it is a “Ratings Equals Revenue” business; the more audience share a network garners the more profits they earn. It should be obvious to any one with a smidgeon of intelligence that in spite of their claims to be “Fair and Balanced”, FOX un-ashamedly panders to an audience that has a certain point of view. FOX carefully cultivates this audience and constantly feeds it the kind drivel that keeps it happy. Sean Hannity,Bill O’Reilly, John Gibson, and the rest of their ilk could not sustain if there was not a large audience share of Americans who’s hearts are full of the same kind of hatred and bigotry. The same can be said for the arrogant, biased and opinionated Nancy “Disgrace” and her supermarket tabloid show. These demigods are being well paid to give people what they want. And what their audiences want to feed on is the real tragedy. Wisdom is justified by her children”.

If you had bothered to listen to the entire program or more than one minute of the show. John's program for sometime has been trying to show some light on the problem of Black on Black killing and the problem of rap music glorifying the killing and "no snitching rule". When the first reports came out that there had been a shooting in a school that is 85% black, do you really expect me to believe that you knew it was a White kid because Black kids never shoot each other.He is right in the fact that Black killers usually don't shoot them selves after they kill. A lot of the White killers do. I don't know if it is a cultural or social reason. I don't think anyone does. but it is a fact. Take the time to research how many Black on Black killings there are just this year and how many White on White killings, all under the age of 25. then tell me there is not a problem. or that John should not be mentioning this on his show

You cannot make excuses for or justify what John Gibson said. He is a highly paid professional broadcast journalist. He has an obligation to ascertain the facts before he reports a news story. In addition, he is not supposed to allow his personal prejudices and bigotry to color a story. He failed miserably on all counts and in doing so he cast dispersion on another group of people who were in fact the VICTIMS and not the perpetrators. Not satisfied, he then painted a totally false picture of the events he was supposed to be reporting on. Had he not been in such a hurry to blame blacks, their music or their life-style, he might have reported with accuracy that "A heavily armed youth with a history of mental problems has opened fire in a school. The youth, wearing a black trench coat, similar to the coats worn in the Columbine massacre, also had black painted finger nalis and was known to worship the Rock Musician, Marilyn Manson.The shooter ended his own life as the police closed in on him." Without mentioning any ones race, the above would have described what happened and who did the shooting. However, since Gibson works for FOX network he felt he had license to lie and libel a group of people who had nothing to do with this tragedy. If he had to say anything at all about race he might have said, "Black students attending an academically accelerated high school were attacked by a disgruntled and deranged white student. The heavily armed youth opened fire at several students and teachers then succumbed to self-inflected wounds before he could be arrested." That would have been much closer to the truth; there is no excuse for what Giobson said and it cannot be defended.
