There are now news reports that Don Imus will be hired by WABC in New York for their morning show. His new paycheck -- over $10 million. When you compound this with the reported $20 million payout he got from CBS when he got fired, he will have made a small fortune for getting fired. If these numbers are anywhere near true, it's an enormous reward for bad behavior.
So, Imus makes offensive comments. Imus gets $30 million. That ought to show him!
As I explain in this short video, I never thought Imus should have been fired. But I also didn't expect to get him to get millions of dollars for being an ass, either.

1. Glad Imus is coming back. What he said is nothing compared to the garbage the two "Reverands" have pulled and still are pulling, every day, in this country. The Pot should never call the kettle black"-an old saying.

2. Someone doesn't deserve millions for making an ass of themselves then is there some way we can get Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly off the air.
Imus did deserve that money the empty suits at CBS made tons of dough on Imus doing what he did on that fateful morning in April and his contract basically said if he cleaned up his act too much he could be in breach of that contract. Well it cuts both ways baby. I'm glad he got the settlement and the new deal at WABC. Of course I hope he also lands the TV contract becuase WABC comes in awful were I live.

3. He deserves every cent. CBS Radio broke the contract, he didn't. The contract was a recently signed contract, too. Lots of time left on that contract for them to reimburse him. That's why he got that $20 mil. He will be getting more than $10 million, surely. His behavior did not warrant being fired. The basketball girls were not at all harmed. If they hadn't been told to be offended, they would not have been. They are busy with their basketball and academic schedules. I cannot wait for Imus to come back, and I cannot wait for him to be on a Fox channel!! Go IMan! I've missed you, and all of your acerbic comments.

4. Cink....Imus brings the juice...that's why he makes the money he does and you make the money you do.

5. The problem with people in America is that if they are offended by the opinions of a person, whether spoken or written, they think everyone else should be just as offended.
When other people aren't offended, then the offended persons raise a stink and try to get the opinions silenced.
This isn't why the American Revolution was fought, so that the majority or the minority can silence people.
If you don't like Don Imus, then don't listen to WABC in the morning. If you don't like Rush Limbaugh, then don't tune into the EIB Network between 12 and 3 Eastern.
If you don't like Bill O'Reilly, then don't tune into Fox News Channel at 8pm Eastern.
But, if you don't like Imus, Limbaugh, or O'Reilly, that doesn't give you the right to deprive others the chance to listen.

6. It's not about how much money Imus makes, it's about how much money Imus made for other people. Rev. Al Sharpton bought the exclusive rights to the N-word, the B-word, the H-word, and they threw in nappy for good measure. The Rutger's Basketball team will be the most talked about Women's Basketball team in history and they have a chance to win the NCAA Title. All the publicity they got was free. Having Imus back on the air allows them all to cash in. The sponsors are lining up with buckets of money to get on the Imus Bandwagon. I hope Imus doesn't forget those that actually defended him when he needed it the most. Walter Reed isn't going away. Leave No One Behind. It earned Al Gore a Nobel Prize, Rosie wrote a book, and Imus is a Radio God. Somebody out here has the Midas Touch. Call me!

7. I am the first to admit I will never understand the appeal of Don Imus, but the rush to fire him over the "incident" last year was outrageous. Imus had a contract and CBS had to pay him for it - a contract is a contract.
If WABC wants hire Imus that is their business. Again, I have never liked Imus but obviously others do.

10. “OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE HEART THE MOUTH SPEAKS". Don Imus, Ann Coulter, John Gibson, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, et al., etc., are only symptoms of our critical internal disease. The mouth of America is speaks through these commentators and reveal what is in her troubled heart. The soul of this nation is shot through and poisoned with hatred and hostility; this hatred and hostility is not directed toward enemies outside our borders, it is directed against our own people within our borders. We are the carriers of a festering-putrid, infectious disease that is slowly but surely killing our country. The disease is the bottomless gulfs of divisions between our people, we are divided by race; we are divided by "left" and "right" , we are divided between people of faith and people who have no faith; we are divided by rich and poor; we are divided by men and women, gays and straights. These divisions are not healing, they are growing wider and wider. "A HOUSE DIVIDED CANNOT STAND; sooner or later (probably sooner than we all want) our "house", our country, “ America the Beautiful” will implode in on itself; it will tear itself apart, we will destroy ourselves and collapse from within. The E-Coli of our own deep-seated hatreds of other Americans other will continue to eat away at us until we have no strength to stand. What our enemies on the outside can never do to us, we will in the end do to ourselves.

13. Rev.Al and Rev . Jackson have done more to divide this nation with their cry about everything attitude . Crying wolf every time a white man farts only makes people angry . Neither one of them is a good leader for minorities . I think of Al as a comic and Jackson as a do as I say not as I do type of guy . But back to Imus , I'm glad he is back and I hope he offends everybody . Myself included . The old saying if you can't take a joke then f ya applies here .

14. As a fellow broadcaster, I'm expected by my industry to not comment on this, but seriously, our freedoms are hampered in this country by various entities, which limit our abilities to do our jobs as the sounding boards of the listeners. Sad. Don, Howard, and others made their reputations, not on being like everyone else, but by being different in order to spur responses from a free society. Whatever that takes should be at least tolerated by the employers of the very product that feeds their employees.
