I am not the world's biggest Hillary Clinton fan, but we have been noticing lately that she is being attacked constantly in the media for some of the most absurd things in the world. My two favorite are her "evil laugh" according to Fox News Channel and a Republican consultant calling her "fishwifey" (I had to look it up; it apparently means "a coarse-mannered, vulgar-tongued woman" or "a woman who sells fish").
Now, there is also a new attack video on the internet from a guy who has been arrested for fraud and is being financed by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth backers. So, the right-wing attack machine has begun in earnest. And as much I have policy differences with Senator Clinton (you can read those here), it's time to step up and defend her against these ridiculous attacks:
I think political attacks on someone's record is totally fair game. In fact, I don't think John Kerry attacked George Bush's dismal record in 2004 nearly enough. But personal attacks based on absolutely nothing are not fair game. Unfortunately, however, as you as you can see in the video above, this is exactly what has been leveled at Senator Clinton. We have to let the media know this is not acceptable. Talk about her record, not her chest. Enough is enough.

16. Hillary has no record to count for credibility. She is a socialist Neocon, and has Sandy Burglar as a top advisor now. He belongs in Federal Prison.
CLinton is as CLintons do, Lie, cheat and steal.
And will no doubt endanger this country to the extent that the Liberal left say we are in today.

17. Very well. She was rated as one of the top most influential lawyers from 1988-1991 according to the national law journal.
Then she chaired on the children's defense fund, working to push through initiatives to end child abuse and to make healthcare available for children.
In 1993 she brought national health care reform to national attention, though her health care plan was unable to get enough support to proceed past the senate.
She also initiated in 1997 the SCHIP program, increased research into prostate cancer, childhood asthma, and sicknesses occuring in vets of the first gulf war.
As senator Hillery has worked to strength abortion rights while also working to diminish the number of abortions by advocating contraceptive use, education, and easier adoption processes.
She has worked to stablize the economy of New york state following 9/11, as well as to provide funding and training for first responders in NYC and abroad.
She has served on the Health, Labor, and pensions comittee; Environment and public works commitee, and on the Transformation Advisory Group as the only senator on that group in 2004.
she has frequently visited soldiers in Iraq and Afganistan and has met with many world leaders to represent a progressive America.
She has also worked to increase prescription safety, decrease precription cost particularly to the elderly, and to improve health service response to bioterrorism.
She voted to authorize the Iraq war but recanted in 2006, saying that it was a mistake and that she had been mislead by the evidence presented to congress.
It's there for anyone who bothers to look.

18. Somber,
the things you mentioned, healthcare, good relations to the world leaders, childhood disease, training emergency personel, the right of choice (abortion), are things Republicans do give a sh*t about.
But at least you answered the question asked to you.
If we can put this much energy of passion that we have towards Bush and Clinton and put it against Al Queda, the taliban and the other derranged uneducated not giving a f*ck about anything terrorits maybe we could be making progress.

19. Let’s see. It’s wrong to attack Hillary but attacking anyone Republican is OK? Hmmm, how do we say hypocrite?
Ed at 10:04PM on Oct 30th 2007
20. Why are those worried about Hillary? She chose to put herself in the spotlight hereself when she chose to get into politics and now the run for the White House. There have been a lot of criticism on both sides and if they can't take it including Hillary than she needs to take herself out of the race or move to a deserted island when her cheating husband Bill.
Shirley Villasana at 10:42PM on Oct 30th 2007
21. Hillary is a bitch who lacked the balls to divorce her two-timing husband. She's ugly. She has a miserable, monotone speaking voice. She has lousy taste in clothes, and she has fat legs.
And rather than remain a Cubs fan, which Ronald Reagan did, despite living for many years in the backyard of the Dodgers, she became a fan of the most loathesome team in baseball, the Yankees.
Kent at 11:07PM on Oct 30th 2007
22. And thank you Kent for that wonderful example of useless discourse and vile opinion. Every one give him a hand. ::Claps::
Everything you said is utterly irrevelent and the exact kind of criticism that is useless and distracting. What does it matter how far her legs are or aren't in comparison to her accomplishments? Would you rather all the women in congress were supermodels? Do you actually prefer superficiality so much that you'd like Paris Hilton or Britney Spears making national policy?
Now... to Ed and Shirey... you are right that politicians willingly put themselves up for public criticism when they run for office. However there is a difference between what a person does and screaming at the top of your lungs that she looks like a goat and thus is unelectable. Her appearance, her voice, her marriage, all are irrevelent to her political performance and her fitness for office. Yes the left criticizes the administration. I am one of them. I wish that the criticism was even more productive in removing Bush from office. But our criticism should always focus on relevent actions. Things politicans say and do, not how much you don't like her voice or think she should have divorced her husband or that she has fat legs.
Understand the difference now?
Somber at 11:20PM on Oct 30th 2007
23. Ethics and morals Somber...two of the most valuable lessons Hillary didn't learn. Hillary is no more honest than her husband, and I doubt that I need to press home any points on that.
Dedmanrisn at 11:40PM on Oct 30th 2007
24. Somber; I am not quite sure what you were trying to address to me. I was trying to point out hypocrisy that if your wish to demonize Republicans, you darn well better be prepared to have others demonize Democrats and not complain about it.
You criticize Bush? Fine! As long as your criticism is sincere and honest, and you are not just echoing Michael Moore or Move-On.Org. Criticize away. I did for Carter’s handling of the economy and the post Vietnam military, and Clinton’s lack luster approach to the ear on terror – he declared war at least 6 times but never really acted. I wasn't ready to impeach either of them for no good reason. Such talk only divides the country and right now, that is the last thing we need in a war against terrorist.
I have nothing personal against Hillary, In fact I think she is a very smart and passionate (about the issues) women, especially when it comes to children's issues. I enjoyed her book and hold many of the same values. We just don’t agree on how to address them.
I a firm believer in Capitalism's ability to raise the standard for anyone who elects to participate, and would protest any attempt to impede its progress, e.g., high taxes and trade protectionism. I am a staunch opponent of big, wasteful, government. I think it lunacy to place the management of health care for millions in the hands of the same people who have butchered public education and brought us the Katrina response fiasco.

25. Cenk you and the Young Jerks are so selective in your outrage. You are outraged by a comment by Fox as to Hillary having and "Evil Laugh" But you condone, support the following:
1-Hillary calling General Patraeus a liar along with MoveOn NY Times ad. You supported that ad in the NY Times. Hillary campaign is directly involved with MoveOn, a fact MoveOn in writing, denies. Yet Hillary stated that is fact in a speech at the DailyKos convention. You have no problem supporting Hillary calling a decorated US Generala liar and the MoveOn lie that they are not connected to Hillarys campaign.
2-You support US Senator Reid and 40 US Senators in attacking a private citizen in a signed letter that was done on the Senate floor. The letter went after Rush Linbaugh for his comment about "Phony Soldier" a proven lie pushed by Media Matters, and said action you Cenk fully supported. As it turns out, the Phony Soldier named Jesse Macbeth, claimed he saw US Troops commit "Atrocities",had flunked out of Boot Camp, thus was never in Iraq, was never a Green Beret, and never got a Purple Heart. This you Cenk fully supported and continually used proven liars Media Matters as as main source of information.
3-You attack, yes You Cenk, oh holy one, attack a US Senator over a Gay Sex encounter of 20 years ago. How low of a piece of slime can you get. Your source YouTube.Yes them, who had recently presented a degrading video about the King of Thailand, filled with lies, for no reason other than harming the King. But Thailand reacted, and took YouTube off the Internet in Thailand for 1 year.
Cenk, you have no problem slinging slime along with supporting other slime slingers, YouTube,Media Matters and MoveOn, them come out and express outrage over term "Evil Laugh" by Fox, is really stupid.

26. Somber=Hillary a top lawyer? She Lost billing records during a criminal investigation involving her, then in later years, they were found, hmmm, under her pilow in the White House. She also lost her memory as to those billing records and the amount and nature of work she had done. Now she tris to show us what a wonderful memory she actually has by bringing up selective self serving events from the past. Her work as a lawyer was hardly notable. She was very versed in Presidental Impeachment as she worked on staff of lawyers to Impeach Nixon. She also does have a very poor memory as to what Chinese people contribute money to her campaign and who she has to return money to for illegal donations Bet you do not read any thing like this in her campaign lit. Oh look up her DISASTER of a health plan she drew up for the USA in the early years of Bill's first term

27. #17,
Very well. She was rated as one of the top most influential lawyers from 1988-1991 according to the national law journal."
Well done !
Did you just "click and paste" from her campaign site or are you a Clinton campaign staff worker who already has it set up as macro when in AOL?
The above one is interesting because it does not mention how she was influential. Please sight a case in which she actually set foot in a court room and tried a case. As to the various committees sight, I do believe that once someone is elected to the Congress they serve on committes.
Once again I ask Mrs Clinton's champions to sight specific facts and not regurgitate a pre-written set of talking points.
Respectfully,

Just for your information and to set the record straight, Texas leads the nation in the execution of convicted felons with a death sentence. The fact that almost every state in the union has people on death row only reinforces the notion that the people have spoken and advocate/support a death sentence in some cases of crime upon conviction. Its only that Texas has the nuts/guts to actually carry out the sentence as proscribed. If it was up to me, a Texan, I'd clear death row in a week and have multiple executions over multiple days/nights to get the job done. There wouldn't be a problem finding folks to pull the switch either. Now as far as the education levels in the state goes, I don't think Texas is at the bottom of any category I've seen reported on lately, but in our state local school boards have tremendous power to sway policy in this area, so that is osmething to consider when trying to just blanket smear Bush on that front. BTW his No Child left Behind is the sanest poicy to come down the pike in decades and its only the efforts of polically PC vested interests that have kept it from being implemented as drafted. Getting back to Hillary, she is her own worst enemy and the folks who ahve actually worked with/for her are the only ones who have really seen the real her, and most of what they say in public isn't very flattering BTW. Maybe you should just wake up and realize that she can get nominated by her Party and liberal advocates by as bug a margin as you could want but she hasn't got a chance in the national election just from all the scandalous crap she has inflicted all on her own over the last couple of decades. Like a previous poster asked, just what has she done in her Senatorial career that is noteworthy that you'd acre to enlighten the rest of us with?

David, Au contre !
Somber merely demonstrated his/her proficiency using Windows to download a set of talking points to respond to the question regarding accomplishments. If I wasn't so lazy I could go to Mrs Clinton's web site myself and download from there.

Like Ron White says " I am from Texas
Some states have re-instituted the death penalty.
Down in Texas ,on the other hand, they've put in an express line".
I know this may offend some but it did draw quite a response and I could not help myself.
