O'Reilly doesn't like that act of progression because it's not "normal," he backs that up with statistics: gays are only 6% of the population, he notes. Bill O'Reilly cares about the children and apparently he wrote a book "for gay kids" teaching them how to protect themselves from getting bullied (can anybody confirm that his advice includes staying in the closet or choosing heterosexuality?) Bill seems awfully frustrated, not only is this couple not being bullied but they are actually being accepted into "normal" society. maybe Bill is afraid to realize that there will a day when he simply isn't the "normal" one.
Bill O'Reilly is loud and like every O'Reilly clip its much like watching a train wreck - it's so horrible you can't even turn away. I have pasted some the transcript into the post here so you can read part of this debate in your own head; try reading it before watching to maximize the absurdity.
BERMAN: They're not flaunting their sexuality any more or any less than a heterosexual couple might.
O'REILLY: Look, doctor, there's no reason why Brandy and Lupe had to declare themselves anything other than friends. They didn't have to do that. They chose to do that.
BERMAN: If they're in love, but they're due - they have the same right to do that as any heterosexual.
O'REILLY: It's not about - it's a matter of appropriateness. That's what it's a matter of. And see, look.
BERMAN: But you're passing - see where your stuck is you're passing judgment.
O'REILLY: You're dismissing all - look, I'm not - look, I don't want any kid to be bullied. I wrote "Kids are Americans, Too" for gay kids who are getting bullied. They should read the booK, know their rights. I don't want anything like that to happen.
BERMAN: Right.
O'REILLY: But you're dismissing a very legitimate point. This is inappropriate. You do not define yourself in a high school yearbook.
BERMAN: Only if you judge sexuality.
O'REILLY: .in a sexual way. Period. You don't do it.
BERMAN: These kids - these kids need support. And they need to know that it's OK to be who they are.
O'REILLY: Well, let them go to a support group run by you. It doesn't need to be.
BERMAN: Here I am.
O'REILLY: You know, you don't have to take out posters and put them on your front lawn.
BERMAN: Because they're supporting all the other kids that are stuck in hiding and now will feel safer.
O'REILLY: That is your extrapolation. Somebody else would say you're encouraging that kind of experimentation...
BERMAN: You can't encourage it.
O'REILLY: ...when you don't have to do it.
BERMAN: It happens anyway.
O'REILLY: All right, doctor, that's the old argument. Let's legalize drugs because it happens anyway. There's got to be boundaries.
BERMAN: Drugs are not the same. Homosexuality is not illegal.
O'REILLY: But it - you know what I'm talking about. (Finish that sentence Bill?)
BERMAN: And it shouldn't be illegal.

3. I dont have a problem with homosexuals at all. My problem is that ppl need to control there kissing and fondling in public around children, period. This applies to heterosexual ppl also. There is a time and place for sexual behaviour and its not at a public event where children are present. That is just common sense. Some ppl from both homo-and hetero lifestyles want to flaunt there preference in an attempt to get attention, and that is wrong. Save it for an all adult function, not around kids. Shame on all of you for abusing proper ettiquette.

4. And the difference between Bill O'Reilly's opinionated rants and Jeff Hoard's opinionated rants is what?
I love living in a country where opinions can be spoken freely. Too bad there are so many on both sides who can't disagree respectfully without having to throw insults at each other.

5. Can't believe it. But I have to admit, O'Reily is really cute. I saw her blog and ablums on the celeb singles club millionairecupid.com. It's one of the hottest blogs. If O'Reily is not homo, she can date a great gentleman for her. I was told that many millionaires on that website are willing to marry her if they had the opportunities.

6. Bill O'Reilly, the sexual deviant, discussing appropriate sexual behavior?!?
The head... It asplodes... And the stupid, it burns.
Anyway, the only thing these people see when they see a homosexual couple is the sexual act. They don't see the people, Jeff. Their minds are simply too fixated on sex to realize just how disturbed and obsessive they really are. And, I like this doctor and how effectively she pointed out O'Reilly's blistering stupidity and hypocrisy.
I almost feel sorry for folks like O'Reilly. The man needs to find something to hate every single day, and when nothing to condemn exists, he will go out of his way (even in utterly transparent means) to concoct a victim for his hatred and bigotry.
In the end, however, he is nothing more than a sad, scared fool tilting at windmills to appease America's idiocracy so as to bolster his plummeting ratings as he wanders further from reason.

8. This is the FIRST TIME I have ever agreed with you. Don't know what O'Reilly's thinking. It still doesn't help your credibility, though. You're a complete moron.

9. O'reily's only problem... okay, maybe not only but biggest... is that he has an idealized notion of how the world should be. Most of us have some idea of how the world should be, I don't think I've ever met anyone who some was utterly content with the world's status quo. But most people I know are content to realize that trying to make the world fit that idealized perfection isn't worth the bother and that it's better to ignore the countless little irritations and focus on big things.
Bill hasn't realized that gays and lesbians are one of the little things that most people are able to dismiss and move on to more important subjects. It's pretty simple. Give us equal legal and social opportuneties and we'll go on our merry way. Some of us are even religious (I know, I have sex with one four or five times a week) and actually try to embrace religious values. Most of us just want to live a happy life just like the straighties.
Bill... unfortunatly... tragically... can't admit that there's nothing wrong with gays. That there are more important things to worry about than gays being... gasp... open about their belief and values. Out of sight. Out of mind. Or rather, that's how he would prefer it.
Myself, I advertise my sexuality. I have rainbow bumper stickers on my car and "I won't bite you, just your daughter", "girls need only apply" or "I like pussy too, asshole." tee shirts that I frequently wear. Just because I like to see the looks on the faces of people who read it and laugh, and people who read it and tell me, a staunch atheist, that I am going to hell for ever and ever. Call me a provocateur or a bitch, but I like shaking preconceptions of an idealized world where I am not allowed. My parents had such a world. My lover's parents still live in such a world.

11. Hoard, O'Reilly has a right to his opinions just like you do. You may dislike O'Reilly but milions of people tune him in every night,by contrast, I never heard of Hoard . Must be a big nobody, jealous at that.

12. O'Reilly's main demographic are white people over 60 years old. They probably hate minorities as much as they hate gays. They are set in their ways and are becomming extinct as the Global Economy is eating them alive. O'Reilly provides them with a voice to sooth their anger but they are obsolete people and just don't know it.
Larry at 12:13PM on Nov 12th 2007
13. Audrey... could it have anything to do with the fact that the only news outlet that will play him is the same news outlet that panders to the political needs of the conservative american party? Could it likewise be that millions of Americans are lazy and prefer to listen to that outlet that tells them what they want to hear than to seek outside sources that would demonstrate the manifest flaws of logic, reason, and humanity that Mr. O'reily presents?
Just a thought.

14. With all the other problems in the world,) the united states no less), hunger, unemployment, the out of control cost of living, etc. Its a shame that our politicians and public figures have nothing better to do than to worry about something as meaningless as weither someone should or should not be homosexual. I do agree with Kim, weither your hetro or homo, there is a time and place for everything. Kissing, groping, etc. in front of children is not acceptable behavior.

15. Hey prffsrx...
Are those two bull$hit websites supposed to prove something other than that you are an extremist nutjob?
Jesus loves homosexuals just as much as he loves extreme right wing Christians(Pharisees) like yourself. If you don't believe me you can read all about it in this one book...I can't remember the name.. Oh yeah, its the book you extremists always use to falsely give credit to your misguided claims... The Bible.
