Two "Zoe's Ark orphans" wait their turn to be registered and photographed by Chadian officials to make a listing at the orphanage in Abeche (Eastern Chad), 16 November 2007. 103 children were placed in an orphanage by the authorities after the charity Zoe's Ark members tried to take them away. The charity said the children were orphans from neighbouring Sudan's war-torn Darfur region who it planned to place in foster care with families in Europe. (Thomas Coex, AFP / Getty Images)

Why are these children not being returned to their families? What is going on that they are still in the custody of the Government? We have seen footage of weeping parents who recognised their children from pictures shown to them by journalists.
There was an unmistakeable immediate reaction when the Journalists turned on the computer and showed the pictures. It seemed genuine unless this is all a setup.
My concern is that these children are being used for political purposes by their own government having almost been stolen by western do-gooders. Where are the international agencies? Why are they not advocating on behalf of the children and insisting that they be allowed to return to their families? This shameful episode must end. SEND THE CHILDREN HOME.
