31. I hope Ron Paul wins the Presidential elections. He's clearly in line with doing what the Constitution of the USA allows. Too cool to see a person wanting to do what the Constitution allows.

32. As Dr. Paul stated, marijuana became "illegal" in 1938, just when alcohol became "legal" again. Two main reasons:
1. Many Revenue Agents on the federal payroll who now have no stills to break up.
2. Unlike hard liquor, which is comparatively difficult to manufacture (hence controllable and "taxable"), drop a pot seed in any piece of dirt and wait a few months and you have "weed" - can't control it, can't tax it, make it "illegal" - keeps more people on the demon alcohol - helping the big businesses and keeping a source of revenue for the government to continue the erosion of the rights of Americans.

33. #27. Don't you love it when ignorant people misspell the word ignorant?
Vote for Ron Paul!

You listen, but don't understand... Ron Paul wants to take the FEDERAL Gov. OUT of the picture. Don't you think there are enough STATE laws to deal with the MJ issue??? Please slow down enough to really understand what this man is talking about. Why pay extra taxes for another out of control BIG BROTHER agency?

36. #28. I never claimed to be a physician. I am a Technologist/Manager, and for you to say that Tigan, Phenergan doesn't work, totally blows your assertion that you are a "physician." Our anesthesiologists routinely use these drugs pre/post op with great success. They've been on the market for oh...40 years now? Maybe you should write up your discovery to JAMA and recall these drugs, so we can start handing out MJ to patients? Secondly, if you're a physician, maybe you should learn how to spell o-p-h-t-h-a-l-m-o-l-o-g-y- , correctly. Third, if you accept Medicare/Medicaid at your practice,(wink, wink) it is ILLEGAL for you to collect any money above and beyond a person's copayment (typically $10 Medicaid, $20 Medicare,) until the deductible has been met. You cannot have an al-a-carte' practice if you accept these assignments. But you know that because you're a "physician," right?
Lastly, there is absolutely no advantage to patients by not accepting their assignments and making them pay full price. Nothing but pure unadulterated greed on behalf of the physician, --despite Paul's philosophical BS of 'socialprogramophobia.'

38. #19 Knight_of_BAAWA says:
" And please show me how I'm a "liberal." Please. I want to bury you in your own ignorance."
Ok, how about these nuggets:
"BushCo is just waiting for the reaction from this before implementing the same policy."
--Knight_of_BAAWA 4:58pm Nov 24 2007, Jeff Hoard "Russian Police Beat and Detain Opposition"
"Rudy is nothing more than a fascist...Further his entire record is of bullying the innocent."
--Knigh_of_BAAWA 9:12pm Nov 20 2007, Jeff Hoard, "Worst of Guiliani"
So I take it that Osama's own reasons are "liberal lies?" I take it that what that 9/11 commission said is a bunch of "liberal lies?" Idiot. Moron. Psychopathic, murderer. Shill for the neocons."

40. Ron Paul follows the typical Libertarian view that drug use shouldn't be regulated. In other words, if you want to use drugs and kill yourself, why should the government punish you?
First of all, Rush Limbaugh made a good point, that every American has a duty to be a contributing member of society. It doesn't mean you have to have a job, but you must do something that contributes to the well being of America. You can't just get stoned every day and watch TV.
Second, as the father of a 4-year-old boy, I want to be able to tell him that drug use can lead to life in some very nasty places, such as Sing Sing or Attica in New York, Pontiac or Stateville in Illinois, or Folsom or Pelican Bay in California. If Ron Paul has his way and makes drug use legal, then the drug lecture has no extra "umph" and is the same as the cigarette and alcohol lecture.

41. Ron Paul is the best candidate for President of the USA all the way around the political spectrum. He is the only one who clearly sees the facts as biased as they are. The truth about medical marijuana or even recreational marijuana needs to be told even against the alcohol consuming majority. Legalize marijuana and the only people who won't use it are those addicted to alcohol, heroin, meth, Mitt Romney or Rudee Gee whiz wherethehellamIandwhothehellamI.

42. "I'm in the medical field, and see a lot of these retired geezer physicians who are bored with life and have a need to find some sense of self worth."
He began his career in politics in the 70s and has been saying the same thing ever since. In light of that, it's hard to make the claim that his comments have anything to do with age or boredom.
"It's obvious he's just in it for the thrill of the race, when he commits political suicide with crapola like medical MJ, getting rid of major gov't agencies (CIA, FBI, IRS, etc.,)"
Or perhaps he thinks the government should follow the law. But you're right, following the law is craziness!
"not to mention his bizarre following of eccentric individuals."
The only word I can use to describe most of Ron Paul's supporters is "informed." Some of them are eccentric, but many of them are passionate. They've been waiting for a long time for someone to set things right, and when that opportunity shows itself, they jump on it.
"Maybe Paul should've shown this much concern for patient's well-being, when as a physician in private practice, he refused to accept Medicaid from destitute individuals, or Medicare from the elderly, but instead chose to put them on an "easy" payment plan charging them full price for services rather than accepting their assignments."
Your fact-finding abilities are flawed. When his patients couldn't afford to pay outright, he provided services at discounts (sometimes on payment plans) or even for free. This stems from his long-time distaste for government intervention. Couple that with his consistent efforts to reduce the size and scope of government over the past few decades, and it becomes crystal clear that his intentions are anything by fraudulent.

43. Great comment truth_seeker, and you also knight_ of_BAAWA on your comment on lizard's comment. Lizard I'm sorry you feel that way but maybe you'd be more comfortable living in a communist society where you attitude is. What ever happened to America's individual right's and freedoms? They were taken away in 1930 when Harry Anslinger went to work for the FBN predecessor the the DEA. It just slays me how our government can rationalize making 2 of the most addictive drugs on the market legal Nicotine & Alcohol. Both are DEADLY! Marijuana is NOT ADDICTIVE after the psychoactive effect wears off you are the same person with no bad health effects at all. EVEN FROM SMOKING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More hypocrisy from draft-dodging, Rush Limbaugh. Maybe he should try doing something for America...when he isn't wasted on illegaly obtained pharmaceuticals or buying sex in Haiti.

45. #40 Paul may not care about what goes into your body, but he does care what comes out of it; wants to illegalize abortion. I happen to agree with him on that! I can hear you libs cringing on that since most of you are single-issue voters. Louis, with your concept in mind, the logical progression would be that we should be able to do ANYTHING we want without government interference. Someone pi$$es you off, then it's your right to kill them. Or the other argument of; "you're not hurting anyone but yourself when you do drugs."
Oh wait..I'm catching on..so we're "destroying the liberty of America," and the "root cause of decay and corruption," is because we won't legalize all drugs...Ahh, that makes sense to me! America; bring us your sick, weak, downtrodden, drug addicts, and we can all live in the "Island of The Misfit Toys." Shouldn't you wait for "free" health care before you start advocating unlimited drug use?
I work with an organ transplant team and do corneal harvests on deceased individuals. Probably 30% are killed by an intoxicated driver, from drugs and yes, alcohol. So, go ahead and legalize drugs; it will be great for those waiting for organ tranplants. The only difficult part is asking the family members for permission to harvest their loved one's organs after some druggie crashed into them.
