Well Clayton Holden, the marijuana user, appears to making the rounds and asking the same question to every candidate that will listen.
Let's see how Ron Paul responses when asked about Medical Marijuana.
Did you like than answer? More Ron Paul on Drugs. If you like Ron, you might be interested in learning that the Ron Paul campaign is looking for contributions to his campaign. Ron Paul made headlines when he raised over $4 Million on November the 5th, now his campaign looks ahead to December 16th to try and shatter the record. From this seat Ron Paul still looks like the most interesting candidate, what say you?

61. Somber, no one will disagree that Ron Paul is a Jeffersonian, but both Jefferson and Hamilton were in favor of the rights and civil liberties which are being taken away from us as we speak. In fact, Hamilton wrote in federalist paper #84 that he was not in favor of the Bill of Rights because he believed it would be interpreted as our "only rights" and that the Bill of Rights was unnecessary because the government has no right to restrict our liberties. I believe, as do many others, that Ron Paul is the only candidate, except maybe Kucinich, that would stay true to the Oath of Office, to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

64. This thread is a riot! Enoch-- the illegal substance "guru"-- claims to be a user himself, and wishes for ALL drugs to be legalized, yet will tell you that he doesn't condone drug use..LMFAO!
Simpleton Scott, who tries to twist words around making it seem like the medical community recognizes some health benifits to MM, just because they look away if someone on death's doorstep chooses to toke on some weed. Then gives the absurd notion that there are "other ways" to recieve the medicinal benefits from MJ other than "smoking" it. Yet all "medical marijuana" that is produced, is in the form meant to be smoked. I know, let's invent a MJ pill and see how well that's accepted by the pot heads..lol
Then there's this magical number: "80%", which is used for everything from; enoch describing how many prisoners are inarcerated in the U.S., as a result of drug use; to how many people in the U.S. approve of MM use; to how many people disapprove of George Bush, etc., etc. Yet, none of you will provide citations or references to these stats. I think I'm going to change my new lucky number to "80."
Finally, we have Knight_of_BAAWA who tears into every Republican/ Conservative on these blogs, and in the political community, with never a positive word to be said. Then praises all liberal/Democrat posters and politicians, then asks; "What makes you think I'm a liberal?" ---Along with the constant cliff-hanger: "You'd-be-surprised-to-know-what-I-really-am," mystery statement given on various blogs, ad nauseam. Do, pray tell, come out of the closet and tell us what you REALLY are, Knight. Oh pretty please?

65. Allowing educated adults to make their own decisions? I think I love this man.

66. My wife of 25 years is a daily mj smoker. She also has a mild form os MS. She is a hard worker putting in over 50 hrs per weeek at her customer service job. She rarely drinks alcohol and does not use any other illegal substances. Other than her mj use, which she claims helps her with her MS symptoms, she is a well adjusted law abiding productive citizen. If electing Ron Paul to the presidency will help to keep the Federal Government out of her life as a potential criminal then he will definately get my vote.

67. #62 Edit: Seventh line should read: "Then 'Sparky"' gives the absurd notion..."
#63. Alexia says: "Allowing educated adults to make their own decisions? I think I love this man."
Paul wants to make abortion illegal. Any new thoughts on "making your own decisions??"

70. Oh, this is going to be so much fun:
"Finally, we have Knight_of_BAAWA who tears into every Republican/ Conservative on these blogs,"
No, I don't.
"and in the political community, with never a positive word to be said. Then praises all liberal/Democrat posters and politicians,"
No, I don't.
Did you mean to just completely lie, lizard? You weren't even close to the truth.
Go back. Try again. This time: don't lie.

71. #67 Knight. I only have one word for you, which is really going to suck: ARCHIVES.
lizard at 6:34PM on Nov 26th 2007
72. That's nice. But it doesn't help you, since the archives agree with me.
Now then: since you have refused to back your claim, your cowardice has been noted. Thanks for playing.
Knight_of_BAAWA at 7:11PM on Nov 26th 2007
73. Actually, lizard, statewide and national polls over the last 10 years have consistently shown a majority (anywhere from 61% to 90%) in favor of medical marijuana.
http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=3392
Lately, they've been around 80% 12 states have legalized it... and counting.
And your "in the form meant to be smoked" crap is ridiculous. What exactly does that mean? Do you even know what a vaporizer is? You seemed to have skipped right over all the other methods of ingestion I mentioned.

FDA granted an orphan drug designation for it in '99. The feds keep saying "it's not FDA approved" but NIDA and the DEA have been illegally preventing FDA approved researchers from conducting FDA trials.

I'm tired of doing research for people who have no interest whatsoever in facts, and who's whole strategy is just to be inflammatory. That's called a troll. Look it all up yourself. Try a little more reading and a little less talking. You're making a fool out of yourself.
It's people like you who are not only causing seriously ill people to suffer and/or wind up in jail, get their kids taken away, DIE etc, but you're also helping to keep the entire pot market totally unregulated, making sure the stuff is plentifully available in every high school in the country. What is your agenda? Are you a dope dealer who's afraid you'll be out of a job?

74. Cannabis/marijuana has been medicine for at least 5,000 years; and it will always be medicine forever and ever...
Here are a few great links (in addition to the ones mentioned above) for those interested in learning more about cannabis/marijuana as a medicine:
1) Marijuana's History as a Medicine, by Dr Lester Grinspoon, one of the world's foremost experts on marijuana:
http://www.maps.org/mmj/grinspoon_history_cannabis_medicine.pdf
2) Emerging Clinical Applications for Cannabis and Cannabinoids: A Review of the Recent Scientific Literature, 2000 – 2006 – Paul Armentano, Senior Policy Analyst, NORML (this document takes a while to download) :
http://www.norml.org/pdf_files/NORML_Clinical_Applications_for_Cannabis_and_Cannabinoids.pdf
3) Exposing Marijuana Myths: A Review of the Scientific Evidence - John P. Morgan and Lynn Zimmer:
http://www.bisdro.uni-bremen.de/boellinger/cannabis/08-zi-mo.pdf
The war on medical marijuana is inhumane, immoral, unconstitutional (as Dr Paul points out) -- because of the 10th Amendment, for starters -- and incredibly costly (approx 10-12 billion a year).
Dr Paul is right on the mark here.
Not sure about everything he says; but darnit, he is the closest thing to an honest politician I've seen in a while.
I think he'll probably get my vote. We do need a big change, not just on the medical marijuana front.

75. ah lizard..
my old friend.
did i hurt your feewings?

come here you.../HUGS
well,as usual,
you post a bunch of nothing.
once again you attack me(you sexy ad hominem maniac you!)and post misinformation.
i no longer use drugs..
/points to the "ordained minister" nameplate.
and we have had this discussion before,
this is about weed.
not about huffing glue behind the local 7/11.
just reminding you,
you may be older than i and a bit long in the tooth,
and short on memory.
but thanks for the "guru" status..
thats something i can pin on my fridge.
i find it interesting that you complain about other's "twisting words" and taking you "out of context"
but have no compunction about doing that to me.
hmmmm...whats that word used to describe that again?
hypocrisy!thats the word!!
oh..
and i noticed you didnt go look up the sources i mentioned,
just made a ill-formed argument based on 80%,
which i believe is the number that i have posted in more than one blog(there are more than one ya know).
do you have any idea why lizard?
BECAUSE THATS THE PERCENTAGE...yeesh.
are all conservatives as dense and stubborn as you lizard?
because to be quite honest,
out of all the sycophants i see trolling these blogs,
your the only one i see an actual hope in.
you show intelligence and insight,
these moments are sporadic, infrequent and rare.
but a joy to behold.
you my friend,
have an ability to learn.
not at all like your fundamentalist brethren,
who follow in lock-step in what they are told to think.
so ill say it again lizard.
show me how intelligent you are,
and prove me wrong.
ill even give ya a hint.
the number i posted is a round off number,
its not the exact number.
now go!
go and let the anger i instill in you fuel your rage to make me look like an ass!
go my son!
and make me proud!
i love you like a brother lizard..
hugs and kisses.
till next time..peace.
