This is a real story. I have to preface it by saying that because it is so remarkable and unbelievable. ABC News is reporting that a 22 year old American woman was gang-raped in Iraq by employees of KBR, a Halliburton subsidiary at the time.
What makes it even worse is that the US government has done nothing about it for two long years. She has a Republican Congressman from Texas fighting for her and she still can't get the Justice Department to press charges or even comment on the case. This is maddening.

The rape kit was mysteriously turned over to KBR security personnel, the same company whose employees were accused of the rape. Unsurprisingly, the rape kit is now "missing." A lot of that going around lately. And KBR claims she must go into arbitration instead of a US courtroom because ... that's what's in her contract!
Are they kidding? Is this some sick joke? I think you might have been in slight violation of that contract when you allowed her to be raped and covered up the crime. Now, they have the audacity to cite her contract.
My God, look at what they're doing to American citizens and getting away with. When is all this going to be enough for you? If Iranians had done this to a 20 year old American girl, we would have invaded that country by now. But as long as it's the Vice President's company, it's all okay? Do people have no conscience? What if it was your daughter? We can't let them get away with this.

The subject at hand is a girl who was raped. If Bush and Dick are so wonderful, let see them show compassion for this girl and ask why the Justice Department stalled this for two years. Oh yeah, they were too busy firing the "wrong people".

Why in the name of all that's human isn't there more outrage and political activity concerning the horrendous violations of female human rights (too numerous to even name here)in fundamentalist Islam around the world? I agree, the U.S. MUST hold these corporations' feet to the fire and all involved in this rape and coverup (and in all sorts of sidestepping of law and ethics) should be legally prosecuted and hopefully do serious time. 1-she was raped in 2005
2-she filed a Civil Suit against KBR Security and Heilburton 05/07
3-Congressman Poe sent letter to Rep Conyers who asked him to find out if Justice Investigated the Rape and if Justice had jurisdiction 12/10/07
4-News story broke on ABC with follow up story to be seen on 20/20 next month 12/11/07
What has been reported as to the rape
1-she was raped by 7 fellow eomployees of KBR, one named in civil suit
2-she was locked in a shipping container and not allowed to communicate with any one
3-she was able to obtain a cell phone from a guard
4-she called her father in Texas who then call US Congressman Poe.
5-Rep Poe called State Dept who dispatched a team of investigators to free the woman.
6-Investigators found her and took her to be examined and treated by team of US Army Doctors. Rape kit was taken and photos were taken.
7-Rape kit was turned over to KBR Security
8-Rape kit was A-reported lost and still missing
or B-Rape Kit was found ,some photos were missing, photos and rape kit evidence shows she was raped.
9-Diplomatic Security conducted the investigation and reported their findings to Justice Dept.
10-KBR Security had been told to cease its investigation
It is reported that there is loophole in the law which means perps are beyond the reach of the Law, the Justice Dept. cannot press charges on subjects.
It certainly seems that many more facts are forthcoming as to she was or was not raped and that the rush to judgement by the Young Jerks is a bit premature. But what else is new, anything for political hay

44. Obviously many are jumping to conclusions before all facts are gathered. Those whom "raped" this Lady should be brought to justice, those whom "lost" the evidence should be brought up on obstruction charges.
This article is about RIGHTS of these individuals directly involved in this allegation.
