No End in Sight is a documentary film that concentrates on alleged mistakes made by the Bush administration in the two-to-three-month period following the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. The film portrays these errors as the cause of ensuing problems in Iraq, such as the rise of the insurgency, a lack of security and basic utilities for many Iraqis, sectarian violence and the risk of complete civil war.
To a large extent the film consists of interviews with the people who were involved in the initial Iraqi occupation authority and the ORHA (the Office for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance, later replaced by the CPA, the Coalition Provisional Authority). 35 people are interviewed, many of them former Bush loyalists who have since become disillusioned by what they experienced at the time.
Not sure if you want to commit such valuable time, here is a primer clip. This particular clip outlines three policy decisions made by Paul Bremer that ultimately changed the course of Iraq for good. Bremer was rewarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his efforts.

1. Paul Bremer is a disgrace and un-American. He should never should have received such a metal. THAT'S WHY WE NEED A FRESH DIRECTION WITHOUT COMPROMISING BY GOING INTO SOCIALISM. MIKE HICKABEE IS THAT CANDIDATE.
The Shift in Momentum IS FOR PRESIDENT HUCKABEE in 2008
Mike Huckabee is presidential material and is alone able to defeat Hillary & Obama. I am now convinced that those wealthier donors to Romney's, Giuliani's, and Thompson's campaign have wasted their money and if they continue, are wasting their hard earned money on candidates who do not have voter appeal or substance. As a member of the younger generation, I will tell you point blank, Romney, Giuliani, and Thompson DO NOT connect with us.
ROMENY has run out of gas. He has been the worst investment money could buy. His persecution complex makes him so defensive and wimpy that he cracks under pressure. Romneys negative campaigning reveals his unprofessional desperation and that he is really an unkind angry person. BOTH Romney's and Giuliani's flop flip past makes them a liability and not an asset for republicans in 2008.
Every time Huckabee is heard his approval amongst Republicans and Democrats increases even WITHOUT major financial support. Just imagine what would happen if he got the major financial support. He is the Republican's secret weapon in the 2008 election. Huckabee's proven leadership can help bring America together as a team.
Huckabee is the BEST candidate because he not only attracts republicans but also democrats to his side without compromising his principles. Both side support is needed to win this election in 2008 and he has it.
Listed are just some of the reasons why I switched my vote to Huckabee:
1. Huckabee can think fast on his feet.
2. He is personable and has a great sense of humor.
3. He is real and does NOT put up a front.
4. Huckabee is a problem-solver for the poor and less fortunate.
5. Huckabee is extremely knowledgeable about various issues and communicates with confidence.
6. He is Pro-life and Pro-family.
7. He is witty and competitive; Huckabee DOES NOT sound like nor does he act like a vacillating wimp.
8. As governor, Huckabee is the longest proven executive leader among all the nominees.
9. He demonstrates wisdom, humility, and self-control.
10. Huckabee is completely understandable and communicates with great depth.
11. Huckabee has a consistent conservative track record.
12. He is noble, honest, compassionate, bold, also attentive to all the questions he was ever asked about WITHOUT being all over the board and WITHOUT sounding scattered.
13. Huckabee is clearly the toughest on border and national security.
14. Huckabee speaks without annoying hesitations and does not utilize vacuous speech.
15. He has earned the respect of Afro-Americans and Hispanics since he was THE ONLY top ranked one who valued and respected them by attending the latest ethnic sponsored republican forum.
16. He is direct and uncompromising about the flat tax system.
17. Huckabee is very focused and he is all about accomplishing measurable goals.
18. Huckabee has the most practical experience, for over ten years, defeating the Clinton "socialist" political machine in Arkansas and alone has the know-how to defeat them nationally.
19. Huckabee, as governor of Arkansas, did more to practically help the people of New Orleans, LA after Katrina than the governor of Louisiana because Huckabee's state government was so organized
20. Mike Huckabee sticks to his principles without being pressured to change them at the whim of polls and media pundits. He also answers questions very candidly WITHOUT being nervous and WITHOUT dishonestly covering himself up before the public.
21. Huckabee is also NOT a part of the establishment in a period when there is an anti-establishment sentiment in America.
22. Mike Huckabee is the only candidate who has a PRO-American trade strategy that holds China accountable for their unethical trade and banking practices, as well as their human rights violations.
23. His foreign policy methods DOES NOT exclude and take advantage of neighboring countries or potential allies.
24. Huckabee believes that part of winning the war on terror is achieving energy independence.
25. Mike Huckabee is the ONLY candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton and Obama. The people who are passionate about Huckabee are NOT going to suddenly change their vote within the given time period of the primaries. The rest of the nominees command no such passion. Face it. It is all over.

3. How can I not resist?
1. Huckabee can think fast on his feet.
This is a general skill of anyone who has graduated from law school, or prison. In short, I don't care if he can think fast on his feet. I want him to think correctly and come to viable solutions.
2. He is personable and has a great sense of humor.
So did Bush, according to the media in 2000. Remember the "good ol boy charm" they talked about. Being distracted by superficiality is what got us into this mess.
3. He is real and does NOT put up a front.
Being personable and charming is putting up a front. Please, don't fall back on double standards to early in your ranting. He's either superficial or he's not.
4. Huckabee is a problem-solver for the poor and less fortunate.
Excellent. now we're getting some where. Please provide a statistic of Arkansa before he took office for the median income and economic status and what those levels currently are. Also, please provide evidence that Hucklebee has the power to solve the problem of losing at probability.
5. Huckabee is extremely knowledgeable about various issues and communicates with confidence.
Most people are knowledgeable about various issues, like a biologist is knowledgeable about evolution. Please provide some specifics about just what he is so knowledgable about.
6. He is Pro-life and Pro-family.
Which proves that you can use pointless and vague reference terms without addressing the nuance of just what pro-life entails and how hollow being pro-family really is. Honestly, has any canidate every run who's said 'fuck the family. I am anti-family!' Doubtful.
7. He is witty and competitive; Huckabee DOES NOT sound like nor does he act like a vacillating wimp.
And once again you such up to superficiality. People said the same thing about Bush "He sounds like an honest straight shooter..."
8. As governor, Huckabee is the longest proven executive leader among all the nominees.
Actually he's served the same amount of time as Rommey. Incidently, Mc Cain has been playing the game far far longer.
9. He demonstrates wisdom, humility, and self-control.
I am so glad he isn't going to be getting a blow job from a staffer. But is he going to be invading Iran in 2009?
10. Huckabee is completely understandable and communicates with great depth.
Again. Superficiality. What are his stances on issues. Something more in depth than "pro-X" and "anti-Y"
11. Huckabee has a consistent conservative track record.
Right. He was a minister. How do you get more conservative than that?
12. He is noble, honest, compassionate, bold, also attentive to all the questions he was ever asked about WITHOUT being all over the board and WITHOUT sounding scattered.
Again, superficiality, and subjective at that. I don't care how he looks, how he sounds, or how snazzy his answers are. I care WHAT his answers are and what he plans to do.
13. Huckabee is clearly the toughest on border and national security.
Clearly the toughest... let's see... border fence... check... deportations.... check... fining employers.... check... Is there a single republican candidate who ISN'T all three?
14. Huckabee speaks without annoying hesitations and does not utilize vacuous speech.
Again, superficiality. What is it with you and speach. Is the only thing that matters that Huckabee produces a good sound byte?
15. He has earned the respect of Afro-Americans and Hispanics since he was THE ONLY top ranked one who valued and respected them by attending the latest ethnic sponsored republican forum.
Wonderful. Something specific. Of course it's a bald faced generality. If you want to cite specific endorsements like the NAACP or the like, please do. Otherwise you're just blowing smoke or being lazy.
16. He is direct and uncompromising about the flat tax system.
Which is a wonderful boon to all those rich people who can buy homes abroad, stock them with all their toys, and not have to pay a cent while the people who have to stay home get shafted on increasing costs. Oh... and it doesn't even sniff at corporate profits like dividents.
17. Huckabee is very focused and he is all about accomplishing measurable goals.
Again. SPECIFICS. If they're so measurable then they should be so easy to cite.
18. Huckabee has the most practical experience, for over ten years, defeating the Clinton "socialist" political machine in Arkansas and alone has the know-how to defeat them nationally.
Finally. Specifics. Completely false specifics, but specifics. So there was a socialist political machine... huh. Is there a patent I can see? I'd love to look at the design. Does it come in blue or green, or only Pink? Oh... and how was it a socialist political machine?
19. Huckabee, as governor of Arkansas, did more to practically help the people of New Orleans, LA after Katrina than the governor of Louisiana because Huckabee's state government was so organized
Again, examples of this practical help. Oh... and just what is he going to be doing about FEMA to make it more effective. Does he have any plans to actually rebuild and restore New Orleans?
20. Mike Huckabee sticks to his principles without being pressured to change them at the whim of polls and media pundits. He also answers questions very candidly WITHOUT being nervous and WITHOUT dishonestly covering himself up before the public.
Wow. So does Bush.
21. Huckabee is also NOT a part of the establishment in a period when there is an anti-establishment sentiment in America.
Excuse me, but the establishment is the evangelical contamination of politics and the disasterous neo-conservative foreign policy IS the Establishment. He's a republican preacher.
22. Mike Huckabee is the only candidate who has a PRO-American trade strategy that holds China accountable for their unethical trade and banking practices, as well as their human rights violations.
Ooooh. FINALLY! Something I can sink my teeth into. And just how is he going to hold China accountable when they can say "Okay. Six Trillion. Now. Cough it up."? And if he's so ardently persuing China's human right's violation then what is he going to do about our own?
23. His foreign policy methods DOES NOT exclude and take advantage of neighboring countries or potential allies.
Then he's stupid. If we didn't take advantage of the help of neighboring countries and tried to enforce policy on our own then Iraq would be even more of a nightmare. When you're trying to win you take every advantage possible.
24. Huckabee believes that part of winning the war on terror is achieving energy independence.
And you have just said something that it actually interesting. Just how does he propose to get this energy independance? Is he going to kiss Iowans ass and back corn biofuel too? How's he feel about nuclear power? Effeciency regulation? Auto regulation? Come on, give me something specific!
25. Mike Huckabee is the ONLY candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton and Obama. The people who are passionate about Huckabee are NOT going to suddenly change their vote within the given time period of the primaries. The rest of the nominees command no such passion. Face it. It is all over.
Right. Ron Paul supporters are no different.
WHY HUCKABEE WINS THE NOMINATION and the PRESIDENCY
Now. Perhaps you can explain to the family of the woman murdered by Wayne DuMond, a man explicitly and intentionally paroled at the urgings of Govenor Huckabee, despite warnings by prison officials and psychologists that he was a threat, why he should be president? I'm sure that Huckabee thought fast on his feet, presented his reasons with humor and charisma, and stuck to his conservative roots to get Wayne DuMond out of prison where he could rape and murder again.
Quality, snotling. Never settle on quantity.

6. #3 - Somber - Thanks. I am always enlightened by your posts. I hope that your life continues to turn around.
I would like to ask a question of all readers and bloggers that grew from item 11. I remember (60s & 70s)when my vision of a religious leader was not an ultra-conservative. I remember religious leaders opening coffee shops, leading voter drives, staging anti-war sit-ins, and such. Of course, I remember when conservatives believed in small government, fiscal responsibility, and preserving individual rights. What has happened?

7. Alan, he's hoping you check back.
Evangelicalism happened.
I want to express something... I don't care about christianity. I don't believe in it. It has some good points but so does Shintoism. What I really hate is Evangelicals. These are people who aren't content with letting people find christ or not find christ. No, they want to paint christ over every one's lives and inject christ into other people like he's a miracle vaccine against everything bad. It's the worst of good intentions because it takes all that religious drive to act and money to help and sucks it into this vortex of spreading the name of christ. I've never been in a homeless shelter which could afford to rent a stadium, buy a jet, or diamond mines. Pat Robertson has done all three.
Back in the sixties and seventies, before Falwell came along, misters had bigger problems... like having their churches blown up in the south. But brave men and women of faith stood up and said, "No more. Jesus wouldn't want us to do it so we shouldn't be doing it. Jesus wouldn't bomb a Vietnamese child, no matter what that child's faith."
And while that is very noble... it's not very marketable and it ran contrary to the political establishment. But then Falwell came along and gave conservative christians another outlet... christianizing America. Don't like drugs? When Christ is in every home no one will need them. Don't like poverty? When Christ is in every home then no one will be on welfare. Christ became a panacea for all those middle class christians who longed for stability and the evangelicals took them for every penny because evangelicalism is easy. It's hard to donate your night to watch over a sleep center. It's hard to actually work a sunday in a food kitchen. It's hard to drive to the charity donation center. Give your money, time, and devotion to these vast evangelical congregations and call it a day. And if anyone object to it, then you are free to 'call a shovel a spade' and berate and spit upon them to your heart's delight.
That's it in a nutshell. Like a Hurricane, Evangelicalism took all this money and energy and used it to... make more Evangelicalism. Christianity can and does good, and will do good in the future, but right now it's wasting so much of its time trying to make America Christiany.

8. #8 - somber - Thanks. I can hardly wait to read the comments on your responses.
alan at 2:39PM on Dec 26th 2007
9. While I completely agree with your disdain for the evangelicals, Somber, it seems to me that even the "reasonable" christians must be taken to task. They are, "enablers." I supsect they aren't up for a theological challenge. They fail to throw out the money-changers and outright lunatics (often the same animal). Christians, clean your own houses before you step, un-invited, into mine.
Captain Negative at 7:14PM on Dec 26th 2007
10. Christians have the same problems as republicans, cops, and labor unions: you don't turn on your own.
Point out the stuff that Robertson and Phelps say on a daily basis to most christians and most will generally disapprove when you hold them to the question. It'll be a generally lackluster disapproval... and almost always accompanied by a rejection of them from the ideology of christianity as a whole. Like they have to be disqualified as christians before they feel comfortable criticizing them. Hilter is another common example. Whatever group he's associated with has to desociate with him first.
This is a big intellectual jump for anyone to make, but it's particularly hard on christians and muslims because of their 'high stakes' mythology. If they do nothing then there's an almost certain guarentee of a reward. There's no commandment that says "Thou shalt condemn hypocrites of thy own flock", more the pity. If they rock the boat, however, then they risk being wrong and loosing big. So in the game of "do nothing and get rewarded or take a stand and get punished" it's no surprise which is more commonly employed.
Incidently, this is why I love the Poster "Father John." I really hope he is a minister. He's brave enough to stand up against blantantly anti-christian and anti-human statements made by dumb christians. Very refreshing.

Huckabee is listed as #6 Governor Huckabee enjoyed a meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more thorough review of his ethics record. According to The Associated Press: “[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office.” And what was Governor Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down.
Tax Hike Mike wants to replace the income tax with a "flat tax" as opposed to Ron Paul's plan of replacing the income tax with NOTHING and cutting out a ton of bureaucracy to save the money government wastes. Huck also wants to continue the War in Iraq until "honor" is served--a classic thing to say by someone who is not fighting. "Straight up the hillside, out in the open... in that gorgeous field of fire. We will charge valiantly and be butchered valiantly. And afterward, men in tall hats and gold watch fobs will thump their chests... and say what a brave charge it was." That's Mike Heckleberry.
Mike scares me. None of his proposals will help those earning less than $250k a year, he will fight his senseless wars blindly, and this hypocritical preacher doesn't even have the sense to keep a serial rapist turned murderer in jail. The death penalty? What would Jesus do? We all know the answer, and we know that Rev. Mike disagrees with the Almighty on certain issues. So if not God, and certainly not the Constitution, where does he get his backing from?
The only real Republican is Ron Paul, he's got my vote. I don't find anything threatening or any major character inconsistencies with him. End the war, cut the taxes, cut the DC bureaucracies, defend civil liberties, defend your privacy, secure the border, no illegal immigrant amnesty, no NAU, no regulating vitamins under CODEX, no Federalizing abortion--fine: the end.
