Below is just a snippet from the two page op-ed that appeared in todays Washington Post. I ventured out into the Internet and added a bucket load of links to the paragraphs below that might help anybody who still doesn't think Bush should be impeached.
But what are the facts? You know I don't post without including a video, so today I will re-post the Robert Wexler's call for impeachment, he now has over 180,000 signatures.Bush and Cheney are clearly guilty of numerous impeachable offenses. They have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They have transgressed national and international law. They have lied to the American people time after time. Their conduct and their barbaric policies have reduced our beloved country to a historic low in the eyes of people around the world. These are truly "high crimes and misdemeanors," to use the constitutional standard.
From the beginning, the Bush-Cheney team's assumption of power was the product of questionable elections that probably should have been officially challenged -- perhaps even by a congressional investigation.
In a more fundamental sense, American democracy has been derailed throughout the Bush-Cheney regime. The dominant commitment of the administration has been a murderous, illegal, nonsensical war against Iraq. That irresponsible venture has killed almost 4,000 Americans, left many times that number mentally or physically crippled, claimed the lives of an estimated 600,000 Iraqis (according to a careful October 2006 study from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health) and laid waste their country. The financial cost to the United States is now $250 million a day and is expected to exceed a total of $1 trillion, most of which we have borrowed from the Chinese and others as our national debt has now climbed above $9 trillion -- by far the highest in our national history.
All of this has been done without the declaration of war from Congress that the Constitution clearly requires, in defiance of the U.N. Charter and in violation of international law. This reckless disregard for life and property, as well as constitutional law, has been accompanied by the abuse of prisoners, including systematic torture, in direct violation of the Geneva Conventions of 1949.
I have not been heavily involved in singing the praises of the Nixon administration. But the case for impeaching Bush and Cheney is far stronger than was the case against Nixon and Vice President Spiro T. Agnew after the 1972 election. The nation would be much more secure and productive under a Nixon presidency than with Bush. Indeed, has any administration in our national history been so damaging as the Bush-Cheney era?
How could a once-admired, great nation fall into such a quagmire of killing, immorality and lawlessness?...Read More...

1. As much as I'd love to see this entire administration dragged from the White House in leg irons, unfortunately, it's never going to happen. The Democrats are far too gutless and self-serving to pursue impeachment. They have no problem in allowing Bush and Co. to run roughshod over the Constitution.
The funny thing is, I have feeling that the next time any of these current representatives are fighting for reelection, their apathy will be used against them, and I really hope they all find themselves out of work. It's not going to look good for an incumbent if he or she turned a blind eye to the habitual Constitutional crimes of the worst president in our nation's history --particularly since they themselves took an oath to uphold and protect the now near-worthless document upon which America was built.
They simply don't understand the damage they've done to everything by perpetually caving to the tantrums of this sniveling man-child of a president. For some reason, these spineless fools think it would hurt America more to hold Bush accountable for his crimes --thereby exonerating him--, than it would to actually uphold this notion that we are (or were at one time) a nation of laws above which no citizen or politician should ever be held.
I honestly never thought I'd see the days where such obvious corruption and glaring malfeasance would be condoned by both the House and the Senate. And, if you're not embarrassed and ashamed by such inaction within our legislative branch, you're obviously not someone who cares about the sanctity of our nation's laws and Constitution.

2. BUSH HAS BEEN MORE OF A MAN THAN ANY SNOT-NOSED SCARED PATHETIC PANSY THAT ONLY THINKS ABOUT THEIR AGENDAS. IF THE WAR WAS NOT FOUGHT OVER THERE, IT WOULD'VE BEEN OVER HERE. HE'S THE GREATEST PRESIDENT SINCE REAGAN. HIS ADMINISTRATION HAS NOT COMMITTED EVEN ONE CRIME, MORON. YOU JUST DON'T LIKE THE FACT THAT A LIBERAL AIRHEAD LIKE YOURSELF IS NOT IN POWER. THIS COUNTRY WOULD BE DOOMED IF THAT HAPPENED. WE DON'T NEED WEAK PANSIES IN OFFICE, WE NEED SOMEONE STRONG WHO DOESN'T TAKE BULL FROM TERRORISTS, WHO IS THINKING ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS COUNTRY AND EVERYONE IN IT.

3. DENA:
shoulda coulda woulda! your argument is WEEAAAK!
Sorry to break this to you at this stage in the game, but you are a gullible sheep in saying such jargon!
I personally think the bush administration gave in to terrorist demands of attacking the US and not only allowed it to happen with big-buck arm twisting but spun it to THEIR advantage! Through corporate wrangling, war mongering, intelligence bluffs, lying, curruption, distortions and cover-ups.
C'mon, just look at the kind of poer they handle within the spying community at the moment! Tie that in to their past now, you'll see they are up to no good.
ALL the leadership coming out of that administration is flawed under my idea of a stable human world power leader. ALL of it!
All the evidence examined under scrutiny points towards crap leadership, cover ups spun, and your gullibility. Get to the program DENA! Stop watching fox news only DENA! Please get your head out of your ass DENA!

4. Dena, stop yelling. It's rude and immature. If you have documented facts that show Bush has been the greatest president since Reagan, I would love to read it. But as it is, all you have are your opinions, and opinions are not facts.
I think this nation has had enough hate. We're tired of it and don't want to hear it anymore. Hate can not only eat a person alive, but it can consume an entire nation. And it has.
Instead of hate, let's talk about hope. Hope is far easier on the stomach and the soul.

6. Bush's legacy is going to be that of the worst leader of the free world YTD. When my Grandchildren read American history it will report the deception and falsities of this administration. Bush will be used as an example of abuse of power to warn American of the detrimental consequences that occur when an elected leader ignores the opinions of those that elected him/her and disregards our check and balance government. It is sad because many (the majority now, both reps and dems) of us clearly see the abuses of power by this administration; however individuals with absolute blind faith, such as Dena, make the nation as a whole look like morons. What Dena does not understand is that this is not about Bush bashing. This is not the individuals that were against him from the beginning (2000). Bush has managed to alienate the very individuals that voted him in. Dena this is because of his poor record in office. This is simply fact. It is your right to have blind faith, but I am grateful the rest of us woke up. Because of Bush I have absolutely no doubt that our future president will be a democrat.
Gwen at 10:39AM on Jan 7th 2008
7. Dena, furthermore, the fact you have to resort to rhetoric such as "pansies," write in caps, and regurgitate the Bush/Chaney fear mongering only proves your ignorance.
Gwen at 10:44AM on Jan 7th 2008
8. ignorance = thinking that this country can survive without the sacrifice of members of its troops. People call for world peace but that will never happen unless ALL countries are committed to civilized, anti-terrorististic democrosy and that is what Iraq has become. terrorists are killing soldiers, not the Bush Administration. If you redirect your anger at the terrorists who are responsible for all the deaths, even prior to and on, 9/11 you would see that. The terrorists came over HERE, even during Clinton's term and killed, but I suppose you would think that is Bush's fault too. If you give the thugs a chance to grow, America will have more problems than the sacrifice of its troops. There are suicide bombings there. If the troops pull out too soon, they will be followed here. But Iraq and the rest of the world is a safer place without murderous dictators like sadaam hussein and the hunt continues for bin laden. But the terrorist organizations are being wiped out thanks to Bush. You need to get your priorities in order and start blaming those responsible instead of a President who clearly is thinking about the security and future of our country. There are casualties in ALL wars and is why we still have a country. America fights for its safety and freedom and always has. We are still not out of the woods. Bin Laden has made a new tape threatening America and Great Britain. What? We should run like scared chickens and allow them to run after us back here? Bush has the right idea to make sure the new Iraqi Government can fight its own battles over there without further intervention from us or anyone else. How can you not take these things into consideration unless it's a Bush bashing agenda? Many democratic presidents went to war with other countries when there was a threat to our country. But todays brand of democrats are so scared that while they are looking out the front door, preoccupied with everything else, the terrorists will be coming through the back door with weapons and blood thirst.
DENA at 12:22PM on Jan 7th 2008
9. Dena - I can tell you feel very passionate about the threat of terrorism, please do not think in anyway I do not feel the need to safeguard my country for future attaches. However the Bush admin botched Iraq and you ironically mention Bin Laden because they botched that too. I think many other STRONG republicans, democrats, and monkeys could have done a better job with the invasion then the current admin. I am neither dem or rep and Dena, my views are more harmonies with those of the country at large then yours. Furthermore, Iraq and Bin Laden are a fraction of the failures of this administration. Their failures are fare reaching. Friday they announced the unemployment rate is up AGAIN. Dena you have wrapped yourself so thickly in what you want to believe you cannot see the reality of the situation (at home too, not just in Iraq). Please do try to defend the current economic failures on Bush defending our country.
Gwen at 12:54PM on Jan 7th 2008
10. Dena - noticed you gave up on the caps . . . it really was not helping your "case" . . . just jokes Dena, don't go over dramitizing.

11. ah..
dena again.
the dena that agree's that debate is a good thing, then dismisses any information that is contrary to her fundamentalist paradigm.
"if we dont fight them there,we will have to fight them here".
regurgitating false propaganda does not show a healthy, critical thinking intellect.
"if your not with us,your with the terrorists"
translation:if you dont agree with the manipulative diatribe i have been fed, because i am to lazy to actually look anything up,i shall bludgeon you with semantics.
it's weak, wrong and shows an absolute void of imagination.
i have used dena's posts to show my son's the peril's of aboslutist thinking.
fundamentalist thinking leads to a subserviant mind-set,and intellectual stagnation.
the arguments are never their own(yes dena..that includes you),and they show almost a reverance to what is being fed to them, never once doubting that the information may be flawed,or worse, meant to manipulate them.
knowledge, tempered with reason, will manifest wisdom.
people such as dena are utterly incapable of this.
but, because i just cant walk away without even trying.it goes against the teacher in me.
here are a few things that may help enlighten our friend dena, who is so deplete in the information department.

you can read the revelation of paul here dena.it's a far better written text than john's.
the book of enoch is here also,in it's entirety,as is hermes, and the ancient writings about the elohim and nephilim.it's a vast wealth of knowledge.
but you wont dena..
no,
you will hold onto your preconceived notions that have been fed to you like a vice.
your fear of the unknown,or anything that will dissemble your carefully built mental bubble, has to be rebuked.
or maybe your just lazy.
in either case,be you lazy or fearful, please stop your fundamentalist, absolutist posts.
they are substantively weak,inaccurate,
and reveal your immense ignorance in such matters as:
history.
religion.
politics..
and basic common sense.
which by itself would be ok.
nobody knows everything.
but your responses always tend to be in lock step with the polemic diatribe you have been fed.
ignorance is curable dena.

it makes you look foolish.

12. If anybody is guilty of advancing "polemic diatribe" (and really lousy Haiku), it is you Enoch. Your seemingly endless, arrogant little haranguing lecture, replete with amateur psychoanalysis and lots of mind reading, presuming to tell Dena just how and why she knows everything she does, is a pedagogic nightmare of the highest order.
Why don't you stick to the issues, big guy, and stop insulting people's intelligence and critical thinking capabilities every time they have the audacity to disagree with you.

An unemployment rate of 5.0% is very low---hardly an "economic failure."

Let's remember that those malignant fascists were never legitimately elected to begin with.
Dena, you should probably stick to displaying your psychosis on D'Souza's blogs. Those atheists are far more tolerant and D'Souza gives you fundie wackos a home base.
