I posted about HR 1955 back in December, it raised a couple eyebrows here on Newsbloggers as well as elsewhere on the web, including my old friends at Brasscheck TV. Who have put together the video below in an effort to speculate about the intentions of such a Bill.

Mo Rocca appears on a bunch of shows, including CBS News Sunday Morning (with the indescribably wonderful Charles Osgood), The Tonight Show on NBC, and NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! He's a sometime judge on Iron Chef and was featured on Telemundo's Amore Descarado. Last year he starred on Broadway in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His expose "All the President's Pets" was published by Crown in 2004.

3. And my friends mock me when I say that our personal freedoms are being slowly whittled away. Legally whittled away. Most people don't even realize this is happening. They don't realize what is actually contained in all those pages.

4. What I am most disturbed by is that I don't see ANY of the leading dandidates for office opposing stuff like this. Kucinich, yes. Maybe a few others on the fringe. But the major candidates? It's like they don't give a flying fuck. It's much more important for them to be either "for change" or "for experience," but the substance of those concepts is absent when these kinds of things come up.
