16. My dearest Mo,
Loved the second video.
Reminds me of how my Poppa got me to campaign for Nixon!
I was young, I needed the allowance.

17. What a waste of a microphone. Next time, why don't you ask something more meaningful, like "Tweedledum or Tweedledee?"

18. Gee, Mo, if you're thinking of moving, you might want to call another strickly educated woman packing company. N'est-ce pas?

20. I'm a bit surprised experience is on the leading edge in the poll. I thought so many people were fed up with the way things are in the government these days. Too risky that "experience" will lead to "more of the same" isn't it?
Finn has a point, though. And having given it at least a minute of thought, I think it would work best for today as change in the P and experience in the VP. The #2 should ideally function as an advisory position, so in this case would be the voice of reason. Change is good, but probably should be done in baby steps. Or at least toddler steps.

21. I choose experience over change simply because you know where the candidates have been on the isuues and what they have accomplished. Every election, by definition, is a change, so unless Obama spells out the changes he wants to make, I regard his campaign theme of change as simply sloganerism. After the lofty rethorics, charisma, there is very little substance thus far being offered by Obama. I need not be inspired by a politician, would much rather have them spell out their policies for the country,on the economic woes we face, and foreign policy issues, which are a complete debacle at this time. Call me a pragmatist!

22. I choose experience over change because the former allows us to judge the accomplishments of the candidates and where they stand on the issues. Sen Clinton known to be a divisive and polarizing figure has, in fact, managed to form coalitions in the Senate to get things done for the country. She has worked in a bi-partisn effort with many Republican congressmen and senators, such as: J.McCain, T.Lott, B. Fritz, L.Graham, even N. Gingritch, and many more...
Every election is, by definition, a change unless a Republican candidate is elected, which is rather doubtful given the mood of the country. Clinton has spelled out her policies in great details whether one agrees with them or not, whereas Obama has offered very little in terms of substantive policies; he has, instead, relied on lofty rethorics, inspirational speeches and charisma. He has galvanized a great number of people in so doing, however that is not enough for me, I need not be inspired by a politician. I much rather know where he/she intends to take the country, explains where they stand on the issues and spell out their policies. I guess you can say I am a pragmatist not an idealist when it comes to politics. It seems to me we should be very cautious in handing the reins of our executive government to an untested, inexperienced young man in such troubled times. I have nothing against Sen Obama, I just do not think he is ready to be President, or if he is, he has failed to convince me.

27. I suppose so Finn. But hey, thank the heavens for political buzzwords. For without them, we'd have to actually think and read sentences detailing the plans of our hopeful candidates.
And what flag loving American wants that? I know I don't want that kind of change!
Blayze at 3:12PM on Jan 9th 2008
28. "Get your daily dose of 'Experichange' today!"
Warning:
Experichange can lead to nausea, vomiting, headache, focal amnesia-in which the patient cannot remember certain promises and/or state capitals.
Experichange is not recommended for people who voted for Adlai Stevenson or George McGovern.
If you are experiencing change and find it frightening, pick up a copy of People magazine-the soothing pictures and banal commentary regarding celebrities tells you that not much has changed-everything is the same-repeat.
Ask your pollster if experichange is right for you.

30. re: "This is not a philosophy class"
Y'know, at any other time aside from an election year, this "Change vs. Experience" question could make for an enjoyable philosophical debate at the bar or coffee shop. Now the two words and the concepts attached have become so politically charged that they don't hold the same meanings as they normally would, and frankly it wouldn't be a lot of fun to discuss them because they're already being talked (and spun) to death on/in CNN, NYT, NPR, etc! (And we're just getting started. Wait for the true election burnout in , oh, October.)
It will be interesting to see what other words and concepts get usurped by the candidates before the election is over. Since anything having to do with patriotism, success and forward-movement seems to have already been staked out, maybe they'll grab for something completely innocuous yet non sequitur, like "shoehorn."
