Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' Speech
On this day, we remember Martin Luther King, America's all-time greatest moral leader. Here's the full version of his "I Have a Dream" speech. "Now is the time to make real the promises of Democracy," he says. What better reminder (especially in the midst of primary season) of how inspiring leaders could be. Why don't they show this on a loop every MLK Day, the way they do the Yule Log at Christmas?

2. "Why don't they show this on a loop every MLK Day,"
Why don't you ask around, seriously, maybe someone has not thought of it before. The idea may just need a little push.

3. There is no doubt that it is truly one of the greatest speeches in American History. But there are others that are being ignored because they are not in the recent memory of our sensationalist driven media. Great words from great men are through out the history of the Republic and it is neglegent of the media to ignor the contributions of so many that have done so much not only for America, but for the world. The way it is being played today one would think that Dr. King alone is responsible for all the liberties that we all enjoy. He is just one of many who believed in the American dream and he shared the same values that others before him had. Courage! That courage to lead is lacking in our country today and I see no one on the horizon who has it.

7. Ask a stupid question and you'll get an ugly answer. We've got a race problem in America. It's not going away just because the NAACP decides to bury the "N-word." The King speech is a starting point, not the finish line. There is nothing to celebrate here like Christmas. This moment in time marks an assassination as well as an opportunity. What's so sad is it's like Blacks are stuck in time. Why won't the media focus on finding "The Next Dr. King?" The impact and the power of words unleashed by the next King will transform America into something wonderful. The media doesn't want to go there because they are a part of what's evil. The Revolution will not be Televised. I'd rather watch the push for "Bold Leadership." Go Edwards! He's one half of the transformation, if he can get past the phony wanna-bes. The other half is responsible for the Movement we see. Someday, credit will be given where credit is due.
