In a story worthy of Shakespeare, or at least a daytime soap opera, a Vietnamese woman working as a maid for an elderly Taiwanese man discovered that her employer was in fact her long-lost father. Tran Thi Kham, 40, was the product of a 1967 affair between her father, Tsai Han-chao, and a Vietnamese girl working as a shop assistant in a department store. Tsai returned to Vietnam, unaware that he had left the girl pregnant; Tran's mother died shortly after her birth, and the girl was given only the paltriest amount of information about her birth father: a photograph and a ring. Decades later, Tran came to work for the Tsai family as a caretaker for Mrs. Tran. After seven months of employment, she moved on, but left behind the package containing the photograph and the ring, which were discovered by a stunned Tsai.

1. Maybe the score to the movie can be by Neil Young, featuring:
"A Man Needs A Maid" by Neil Young, 1972, the Harvest albumn
My life is changing
in so many ways
I don't know who
to trust anymore
There's a shadow running
thru my days
Like a beggar going
from door to door.
I was thinking that
maybe I'd get a maid
Find a place nearby
for her to stay.
Just someone
to keep my house clean,
Fix my meals and go away.
A maid. A man needs a maid.
A maid.
It's hard to make that change
When life and love
turns strange.
And old.
To give a love,
you gotta live a love.
To live a love,
you gotta be "part of"
When will I see you again?
A while ago somewhere
I don't know when
I was watching
a movie with a friend.
I fell in love with the actress.
She was playing a part
that I could understand.
A maid. A man needs a maid.
A maid.
When will I see you again?
