1. Just watch the news coverage you will notice, if a congressman or senator is giving a speech....even if the room is full, nobody is listening!

2. I have been to rep. Ryan's district, no wonder the room is empty.
Seriously, what do WE pay theese assholes for, NOT voting?

3. He doesn't seem to be saying anything new, Jeff, but he is talking sense. Ron Paul is saying essentially the same thing on the Republican field, so clearly the economic factors of Iraq and our downwards turning economy is a matter of sensibility that crosses the party lines. Facts are facts, doesn't matter how you try to spin it. It's a pity the House is empty but that is also a good thing. It means there are no legislators in session screwing things up.
Once upon a time I was in the House of Representatives addressed by an elder statesman who said the worst thing that happened there was the installation of air conditioning back in the day. With the A/C set up, Congress was in session through the summer when they usually went home because it was too hot!

it's good to see some of our representative's talking common sense.

5. I have heard Congressman Ryan speak before. I live in Ohio, although not in his district. He is a truthful speaker, and I agree with him. Sometimes congress members are giving speeches in the late evening and no one is there, perhaps understandably, but it was the afternoon and no one was there!
They only show up to vote on what they consider important. We should all remember that when we vote for House members or Senators.

6. What is it about Ohio Statesman, the water? Rep. Ryan, Dennis Kucinich, sheesh, I am moving to Ohio. True definition of an oxymoron, Representatives that actually represent, not just THEIR District but the entire country, humane, speak with coviction and morality, true Patriots.
Considering it does cost us $659,000.00 every 2 minutes (of Chinas money, they served us babe) to fight this illegal invasion it is a wonder that more of the undereducated posters on AOL Blogs don't piss and moan to stop it not because over a million have been murdered, which is a non-factor for them for they call Iraqi and Afghani murdered 4 year olds 'Collateral Damage' but because the $50.00 of taxes they pay bi-weekly from their jobs at the supermarket being used.

7. Why spend Trillions when you can spend.....Millions? Muahahaha....
The Prophet at 7:38PM on Jan 25th 2008
8. I'm not sure if it's the case here, but Congressmen often give speeches to an empty room if there's something they want to say published in the Congressional Record.
