2. Ha ha!!!!! There should probably be a warning on that video, for those of us at work!
It was a repeat episode, right? What happened the first time around?
It's a double standard just like breasts. We can see men's breasts on TV all day long, but not women's. So silly.
Maybe the fine is in memoriam to Hinckley.
Ridiculous!

It's funny that Dennis Franz is once again the butt of everyone's jokes... although I'm not sure what he's been doing the last few years but Dennis Franz' ass has never looked better!

5. Well, welcome to George Bush's FCC! Soon we will all be forced to watch nothing but The Christian Broadcasting Network.
And even if they had nudity, there sure is hell no one on there I would want to see!

14. Some information was left out of the report by most news outlets. This was from an episode of NYPD Blue called Nude Awakening which was episode number 213 of season number ten. It first aired on Tuesday February 25, 2003. I'm as old as television, so I've seen it evolve over the years. In the early days, everyone involved in radio and television was always very careful to keep it clean. They did this mainly because they did not want to offend members of their potential audience and because they did not want to run the risk of losing their license. But mistakes were made. On an early game show that was broadcast live, a panelist used the word 'balls' in a way that evoked laughter from the studio audience. Of course, the word got out and the ratings went up for the show. From that moment on, the networks continued to push the limits in an attempt to build even bigger audiences. A major 'advance' in the limits came with the debut of Norman Lear's All In The Family series starring Carol O'Connor. If you continue to test limits, however, you run the risk of eventually going past the limit. But these limits are subjective, and they're also a moving target. As we were exposed to more sexual innuendo and imagery, we seemed more willing to tolerate it. This is unfortunate, really, since a little mystique can actually be an enhancement to the sexual experience. In other words, sex is less of a 'turn on' if you're surrounded by it all the time. Personally, I think the standards the FCC is trying to enforce have long ago become obsolete. It's a double standard to suggest that nudity and sexual situations are acceptable on 'pay' channels, but not on local broadcast television. Now that most Americans watch television via cable or satellite, there really is no discernible difference between the two. The standards should be the same for all content providers, regardless of the delivery method. If a parent is disturbed by the idea of these images reaching their children, they have the option to shut off the set, or use the myriad of blocking options that have become available. There will probably always be people who attempt to control the behavior of others, and one could write volumes about the reasoning behind these actions. The entertainment content 'playing field' should be level. Control of content viewed should be the responsibility of the viewer, not the Government. It seems odd to me that there is even a debate on this point. It's also a political paradox because the Left (Democrats) seem willing to abolish limits of any kind, while the Right (Republicans) are seen as the party that wants to impose morality through Government regulation. Doesn't it seem that both parties are on the wrong side on this issue? In 100 years, we will either see a total lack of limits, or we will have moved back to the days when content providers established their own limits in order to appeal to the largest possible audience. Whichever way this ends, let's hope it's the majority of the people who make the choice.
