A Michigan resident's beloved Jesus statue has been statue-napped! The culprits explain in a ransom note that the statue will be returned when its owners start cleaning up after their weiner dogs. Wasn't this an Encyclopedia Brown story?

Mo Rocca appears on a bunch of shows, including CBS News Sunday Morning (with the indescribably wonderful Charles Osgood), The Tonight Show on NBC, and NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! He's a sometime judge on Iron Chef and was featured on Telemundo's Amore Descarado. Last year he starred on Broadway in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His expose "All the President's Pets" was published by Crown in 2004.

3. If she was a real Christian, she'd plant claymore land mines in her front yard and position a gatling gun on her porch instead of a concrete statue. Let Bush demonstrate to her what kind of behavior pleases God... It's okay- you can kill as many people as you like and be forgiven.

6. That is not a dog hater, just a dog-do under their feet hater, which is what at least 99% of us are, except the thoughtless person who doesn't do what Jesus says -- follow the golden rule and clean up after their dog.
To the dog-do-leavers: If you're going to put an idol of Jesus out in your front yard, you at least ought to think about what he taught you to do.

7. Now was this a mini or baby Jesus or a full sized Jesus? Now I'M curious, did Jesus have any pets? I would like to think Jesus was a dog lover. If someone marketed a dipiction of Jesus with a Border Collie, that would be really cool. Or maybe like a Hispanic Jesus with a Pit Bull and some cool tattoos,that would sell like crazy! But there is a moral to this story: pick up after your dogs and Jesus won't get hurt. It sounds like they mean business too.
