The alleged bad behavior of Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi (pictured), on the production of the once-Broadway-bound musical Lone Star Love has led to his being banned from Actors' Equity for life and fined more than $80,000, reports Michael Riedel. The column is j-u-i-c-y! Here are some of the allegations made by the entire cast of the show:
* Quaid hit an actor on the back of the head four times during performances. When the stage manager told him to stop, he smacked the actor again.
* Another actor was warned that if he made direct eye contact with Quaid onstage, he'd be fired.
* Quaid made "sexually inappropriate" comments onstage, repeatedly referring to an actress' musical instruments as her "gynecological instruments."
* The couple tried to rewrite the script, to eliminate characters.
* Randy "felt free" to change blocking, lyrics and lines during performances, and repeatedly failed to show up for
note sessions and rehearsals.
Yowza.
Well, if it's true, we blame it on Adventures of Pluto Nash PTSD.

1. THIS IS TYPICAL BEHAVIOR OF AN AMATEUR ACTOR NOT A PROFESSIONAL.
MANY THEATRE COMPANIES PUT UP WITH THIS BEHAVIOR FROM ACTORS WHO REFUSE TO LISTEN TO THE DIRECTOR, COME TO REHEARSALS WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT, DISRUPT OTHER ACTORS BACKSTAGE WITH GRUMBLINGS AND COMPLAINTS, ETC.
THE WIFE IS THE AMATEUR - SO HE STUCK WITH HER.

2. Boy, you let somebody be in one of the National Lampoon Vacation movies and they get a big head. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

3. If you ban every actor from Actors' Equity for being an a**hole, you're going to have very few members left. Ok, joking aside..I always find it funny when C or D list actors cop an attitude, as if..when their popularity declines, they get more obnoxious.

4. Boy what happened? I have been a fan of his since The Last Detail and I think his performance as LBJ was memorable. This guy has depth as an actor, something so rare today.

5. What a shame, and what unprofessional behavior!!! I know many actors who work hard day-in and day-out to make a show easier for their fellow actors and the stagehands. In this case, a ban from Actors Equity is more than justified.

6. Shocked to read about Randy Quaid...I always enjoyed his movies...perhaps he is another actor who may need a trip to a treatment center...????

7. Actually, it's pretty typical of a professional actor as well. Just not all of that in one show, see. Sounds like he deserved it, if allegations are true. It's a shame we can't have this type of punishment for film actors. They're worse, tenfold.

8. What a shame. Randy Quaid is a gifted actor whose memorable performances have graced both stage and screen throughout the span of his career. It is mind-boggling that no one seems to have the influence to intervene and help him and Evi get the professional help they so clearly need. You'd at least think their lawyer would have the sense to recognize two people having a mental breakdown and do something.

9. I actually attended a performance mid-run and thought is was a mediocre unpolished performance. Randy was obviously overheated as he was dripping with sweat, came back after intermission with part of his costume turned down to his waist and his production wires dangling, but the biggest hoot of all was that the audience was so distracted with what looked like a beachball stuck in his pants to make him look like a Paul Bunion stud that few probably noticed the musical content. They should can this musical-not worth reviving.
