I love Charles Barkley. I was a Republican at the same time he was and we both left the party at the same time. We left the GOP when, as Barkley puts it, "they lost their minds."
In the video below you'll see the Charles Barkley interview on CNN where he goes after the hypocritical conservatives. If you keep watching, you'll also see an explanation of why it doesn't make any sense to say you supported both Bush Sr. and Bush Jr.:

61. Many conservatives arent real people, because they havnt challenged popular ideas. That doesnt necessarily mean they dont believe in God. But it makes people stronger to challenge common thought. And that doesnt mean youre terribly mean. Conservatives arent all bad though. Conserving is actually an idea liberals like now. Ha ha. Going green is all about conserving. Not the liberality of say plastic bags at grocery stores.

So what is No-Bama's big issue? The fact that he is going to raise the combined payroll taxes and witholdings from 37% to 52%!!! Expand Government powers into peoples personal lives!!! Increase the size of the Nanny-State!!!
Wow, those are some hellish issues. I could never counter argue those!!!!!!!

63. Father John,
No wars wont happen until people get along. And as John Wayne has said, "That'll be the day." If people insight war, duh, if we value our lives, we've got to protect ourselves. And America has for most of its existence, also helped others get their countries into shape. Peace schmeese until things are worked out. Because peace with unspoken, fuming disagreement isnt peace at all.

I just heard a speech tonight, his victory speech in Houston for having won the Wisconsin primary. He laid out his issues again in a marvelous speech. He's winning at the moment by 13% with half the votes in. His issues resonate!!
Another thing you might want to be concerned about. Pay attention to this:
When he referenced our victory against Hitler he said 'Hitler and Fascism' not Hitler and Naziism.
He's laying Hitler out to be a fascist.
In the same speech he spoke out against current trade policies with China and Nafta/Cafta. He also made several references to lobbyists controlling legislation, a promise to bring minimum wage to living wage and a return to regulation of banking and lending practices.
OK, paul, pay closer attention now: he first equates Hitler and fascism and then comes out against a number of clearly fascist policies that are supported by both Bush and McCain.
Can even you predict what the next few pieces of the puzzle are going to be?
You think inspiring speeches won't get it done? If he wins, by that time you, McCain and anybody withing a parsec of Bush is going to be a fascist in the minds of voters and the bush admin will be thought of the same way Ron Paul describes you - as fascists.
This is the third time I've mentioned this but you wingnuts only see the heritage foundation. His speeches are full of information and immense persuasion for being 'empty'. He seems to understand mimetics or have an intuition for them.
He's been painting your party as fascists but it's only the suggestions. They'll be made subliminally but the associations will be made before November and you'll all be (quite properly and accurately) thought of as fascists.
McCain will actually seal the deal in stuff he hasn't said yet. Watch and you'll see. He has no chance - bluffing into a lock.
Do you know his college funding and payback plan? Education plans? If you don't you'd better study. Your michael richards hesanigger bullshit won't touch this guy. You're tirebiting.
I've said it many times before. This guy is lightning in a bottle. You may hate Elvis, but he's still Elvis and you sure as hell ain't. bite them tires or go crack a book.

67. Papa John said what I would like to say if I could calm down and think straight when I'm talking to some of my more to the right friends, my wife included. On his thought that declaring gay "marriage" as legit I don't quite agree. I don't think the government has much business getting involved with religious matters and I think the definition of a marriage is derived from religious doctrine. Government treating married people different from single is not right. What right to they have in setting tax codes and retirement benefits based on personal lives and situations. But if we have to have some form of “government blessing” on life styles then civil unions are OK for any and all.
However, I think the use of the term "marriage" is in itself a religious term to many. As to how this could harm people. I do think that when young people are growing up and imprinting what are acceptable norms there may exist the possibility that much or maybe just some of our “instincts” are learned and therefore if the government said OK to gay marriage then the child might see gay life as the correct or a correct way to go. I personally don’t agree that gay life is a good thing that we should be seen supporting to our children. This is for many reasons, most of which are based on my own religion. By having my government say OK to gays they are crossing a religious border they should not cross. I just wish the government had not gotten into the business of blessing this sort of thing to begin with. I have no issue with going to my church for a marriage and going to the government for a civil license… but why should I do even that. It has nothing to do with big brother.

I have cracked the books. Now it is time for you to drop the crack pipe and learn.
Fascism started in the 1930's and it was started by Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mussolini even congratulated Roosevelt in a New York Times article for adopting his Facist Programs. Franklin D. Roosevelts own personal papers regarding Mussolini say "I am impressed with what Benito is doing and I keep in touch with that Admirable Gentleman". There it is, right from the Jackass Party Icons mouth to your Liberal Leftist Lemming ears.

you're only saying that because fascism was invented by an italian. 'fasce' are not democratic concepts, that's an italian name. your politics also reflects the italian affection for communists from the same era.
you can make all the bullshit crack pipe comments you want, but you're still trying to justify failed italian concepts of fascism and communism, and you definitely favor the politics of la cosa nostra.
Roosevelt once again was almost overthrown by fascists including involvement from Prescott Bush.
I could give a shit if you try saying roosevelt was a fascist or that you're not. It just makes you look like a terrorist patsy since you don't know shit from shinola.
If you think roosevelt was a fascist and neocons aren't, I rather imagine you'd welcome al qaeda as liberators.
You're a mullet - casinos exist to take money from chumps like you. Keep on with your mullet points, but obama is already setting you up as fascists, just like hitler, and he's exactly right. You are attempting to meld private enterprise with government, establish a state religion and you've already destroyed habeas corpus and the Bill of Rights.
Roosevelt did NONE of that. Bush did. That's factual not spin. Answer that if you think you can. What did Roosevelt do that was Fascist? The new deal was social democracy, the absolute enemy of fascism.
You hate the new deal because you ARE a fascist mullet and you prove it every time you avoid Roosevelt's WORKS and Bush's WORKS.
Bush is fascist, you are fascist, the repubican party is fascist and that's a conclusion anyone who watches the news can draw. It's about time attention was drawn to this fact, and Ron Paul and Barack Obama are making this known.
Even if you get McCain, there's a better than average chance he'll go trust busting.
It's time for that. Look what's happened to the Small Business Administration under Bush after Reagan's two year battle to have it abolished so the budget could be given as subsidies to gigantic corporations.
You are Fascists by your works. By his works, Roosevelt was not. That includes the fascist plot to overthrow him.
once a mullet, always a mullet. don't bet on the instant replay, and if you go to myrtle beach, don't play tic tac toe with a chicken.
. All your heritage foundation fantasy makes no difference. If obama says it, I guarantee you it will be thought of as the truth.
Look what happened in Wisconsin. If he gets texas and Ohio, it's over for you. You'll actually have to go to his website, read his policies and attack them head on or continue to be ridiculed.
your payroll tax bullshit won't stick anymore than the rest of your michael richards act. you ain't kramer anymore and you're not going after max cleland this time.
but keep it up if you want because it's a good distraction and allows obama to advance unchallenged.

that guy was born in the 1880's before the enactment of the Sherman Anti Trust Act. He was a McCarthyist and thought he was a 'liberal' because he clung to mercantilism. He was repudiated as an extremist nut by William F. Buckley and he either misunderstood or deliberately misconstrued the tenets of fascism. He was also against the U.N. and had a personal grudge against roosevelt, reportedly.
Basically he was just anti american and otherwise all over the map. Who's your next authority, David Koresh?

73. I forgot - he wrote that book in 1944 during WWII or for that matter the current controlling cite for separation of church and state. He was an atavism in his own time - wayyy off center. He didn't live to see neoconservatism or the fascist results of libertarianism.

74. iamchavira, master of rumor and innuendo and lies. When Barack was a lad, there were no jihadists in Indonesia.
And by the way, love your CAPITAL LETTERS (MUSLIM. ATHEIST, RADICAL). Barack was actually an atheist who joined the christian church as a 'born again' in his 20's.
It would be GREAT if he were an atheist.

And speaking of sensible Christians, don't forget Jerry, one of our newer bloggers.
It's fine to disagree with people and policies. But when you step uninvited and unwanted into their lives with your dogma and impose it on them:
That is fascism.
