Last night, Hillary Clinton won by 10 points in Ohio, 18 points in Rhode Island and three points in Texas. But she also lost Vermont by 20 points and lost the Texas caucus (Texas has a caucus and a primary; she won the primary). So, according to the latest count by the Associated Press, she picked up a 12 delegate advantage last night.
Barack Obama won more delegates in just South Carolina. He beat Clinton by a 13 delegate margin in that state. So, Obama picked up a bigger delegate lead in just South Carolina than Hillary Clinton did in all the states combined last night.
As elated as the Clinton team is today -- and they deserve a lot of credit for being tough fighters to the end -- the math is simply undoable for her. Obama still has about a lead of about 140 in pledges delegates. Even if you count in the super delegates -- which in all fairness to the voters, you shouldn't -- he still has about 100 delegate lead. Unless something goes catastrophically wrong for Obama, she simply cannot make up that lead.
Hillary Clinton should enjoy a well-earned win from last night, but she should also come to the realization that she didn't win by enough and she is basically done.

1. While it's certainly true she picked up a bit over a dozen delegates, it's not clear what exactly the prize is. And considering the cost, it is very debateble whether it was a 'win' for anyone. One could argue it wasn't even a 'win' for McCain. Why? because the negative campaigning did indeed work. It was not a 'win' for Obama (though perhaps more so than anyone else in the long term). It was a numerical advantage to Clinton, however the negative attacks will cost her dearly in a campaign against McCain (should she get there). She has invited rebuttal and counter attacks, which will surely be used against her in Nov. as well as alienating democratic and independent voters who have supported Obama. Perhaps the Clinton campaign feels that her negative attacks will all be forgiven if she simply says they were in good fun. However it's a risky move and certainly not ALL the folks she has insulted with the negative attacks will agree. So it's a net loss for Clinton. And McCain, how does he lose? McCain loses because we will have another election based on the same old politics, the same negative campaign and bases accusations that Bush played on McCain will most certainly be played by Clinton. Particulary as it's already given her at least short term gain. McCain will most likely be forced, much like Obama to entertain her attacks, and as the work, counter with his own. I'm sure McCain would rather have more integrity in the campaign. So everybody loses, and the person who get's elected will undoubtedly be the person who can launch the most unfounded accusations.
There was no 'winner' yesterday. We all lost.

2. Hillary Crossed The Line. She should drop out after saying this...
“I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say,” she said. “He’s never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002.”
Clinton was referring to Obama’s anti-war speech he delivered in Chicago before entering the United States Senate.

3. Who cares what delegates a Democrat wins in either state.
They are a usless bunch of Sinics, Liberal anti-America, Anti Republic, anti common sense, pro-socialized medicine and pre-socialized America. Destined to turn this Great Republic in to a Failing Democracy, for which our forefathers never, ever wanted to see happen, and designed the Constitution to prevent that. Liberals are daily peckin gat that same document, calling it unjust against there power. that is what it was designed for. To not let the beurocrats control the GOV, but to hold the Beurocrats accountable to the American People. Liberals take note. We are not a Democracy, and thank God for it, Not Allah, not Mohammed but God. Soem people get it, others are like sheep, and there is a Cliff in there campain called the Hillary and Obama mountainside.

4. Although I can appreciate what you are saying about delegate counts that has been the problem with the entire process. Obama has been winning states based on his charm but when it comes down to brass tacks the voters are fearful that he does not have enough experience. Now thier is a buyers remorse and many who voted for him feel that they were uninformed. The media was so busy tauting him as the next coming of JFK and MLK that they did not report to the public the real information about his lack of experience. Now Hillary who is the better candidate to handle the load of problems that exist due to 8 years of another guy who got elected on charisma will have to fight like h--- to get the nomination. I think if you went back to the states from which Obamas wins came you would fine a lot of voters would like a do over.

5. Get ready to have Hillary for President because she will be nominated. And you will have to vote for her because her running mate will be no other than Wessley Clark, retired General, United States Army. Way to go Hillary!! Again proving she is one of the smartest people on the planet.

7. The past many years of Republican mis-rule should have alerted anyone who's been awake as to who has been trying to destroy our Country! When they controlled the Congress - all they could think about was destroying the Democratic Presidency. Once they had the Executive branch as well - they did everything they could to force our Country into bankrupcy! Since 06 - between an obstinate Executive, and an obstructing Re. minority in Congress - any attempts at reform - or simply exposing the depths of corruption / perversion of our rights have been blocked.
Why do Republicans hate our Govt.? because they don't want to be restrained by Law! Rules (they think) are just for the "little people!

9. Cenk,
Ronald Reagan took his fight for the 1976 nomination all the way to the convention in Kansas City. He even picked the junior senator from Pennsylvania (his name escapes me) as his running mate, hoping to get some uncommitted delegates from Pa.
It didn't work.
Finally, he introduced a resolution calling for all nominees to announce their running mates before the roll call on Wednesday night.
That failed to pass by a larger margin than Reagan lost in the roll call for the nomination.
But look at it this way, it was the last truly entertaining convention.
So Cenk, for the sake of entertainment, I want Hillary to fight to the convention. I want a roll call that takes until Utah or Washington to put Obama over the top. And I want to see the kind of bruised feeling that I saw at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, or that my parents saw at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1964.

10. I hope this is right. Clinton can't turn the country around because she has been too much of a republican while in the senate. We need a real democrat to take the lead in America. The republicans have run the country into debt and into shame. They have followed Bush over the cliff to ruin all the laws and all the good. Now the country is desperate for a smart president who will appoint proper people to positions in the government. Not unqualified cronies like Bush has done.

11. Hillary Clinton cannot get more delegates than Obama in the remainign Primaries and should quit.
I do not think so.
Obama has appox-1567 delegates now-needs 458 more to reach 2025 for the Nomination.
Hillary has appox. 1460 delegates now-needs 565 more to reach 2025 for the Nomination.
There are 693 delegates to be decided by upcoming Primary elections in various states. Right now both Obama and Hillary are getting around 50% of the delegates from each state that has already voted. Split the remaining delegates-Obama 347 and Hillary 346- Neither HAS ENOUGH DELEGATES to be declared a winner before the convention. Obama would have 1914 delegates -appox-and short by 111 delegates of the nomination.
Then there are the 367 Michigan and Florida delegates that neither have now.
For sure, the Democrat Presidential Choice to run in 2008 will be decided at the Convention in August.
This is as close to actual delegate count I could find. Please correct my math.

12. God Cenk,
The titles of your "articles" are getting sillier and sillier. We KNOW whom you love.
Why don't you just write Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah?
And, again, if it's such a done deal, why do you have to keep spinnning? Aren't you dizzy yet?

13. Who profits if the Democratic Primary drags on until the Olympics? The media stands to rake in over 285 million dollars from the Democrats alone. If the economy is so bad, where are Democrats going to get the money to counter the Republicans 527 groups? When someone uses the N-word to attack Obama who is going to respond? If someone uses the "B-word" who is going to fight back? We know McCain is going to denounce it, but he won't stop it. The only advantage they have left is the 527 groups and the ability to deny they did it. This race is going to get ugly. Republicans have the advantage of using Democrats to do their dirty work. If they called Obama the "N-word" it's over. If they get a young rapper to do it, then it's a self inflicted wound or artistic license. Why do you think Rush and Ann Coulter are supporting Hillary? Fox unleashed it's "Survey Monkeys" on Obama. Don't blame me look into it. Who selects the political groups Fox puts on TV with Frank Luntz? I'm nobody's "Survey Monkey!"

14. The loony left, of which Cenk and Obama are members, is in complete and utter denial. They are simply unable to face the fact that the vast majority of Americans want no part of their ultra-leftist agenda.
The left sees Obama as their great liberal hope, the reality is that once campaigning for the general election gears up Obama will be exposed as an extreme liberal and people simply will not vote for him. Even the AP, the NY Times and all the other leftist mainstream media outlets will not be able to get Obama elected just as they were unable to get Kerry elected.

15. Dear Cenk,
Wake up and smell the roses. Reality is about to set in on the Obama Express. All your posturing and spin won't help. The Left Wing Rock Star is about to find out what the Clinton Machine can do to non-believers. Comrade Edward's grubby little minions won't help the Big O. When Her Thighness unleashes the Super-Delegate Bots, it's over for Phi-Slamma_-Obama. You minds as well as concentrate on the distant future because the Repubs will finally put the last nail in Queen Hillary's coffin come November.Like the message under the Coke bottle top reads,,"Better Luck Next Time".
