81. Robert, I know *why* the gas lines formed. You say it wasn't Nixon's fault. The "right" always blames Carter for gas lines. The cause of gas lines was the same under BOTH administrations.

You prove my point. The "right" pretends that gas lines were Carter's fault. Right-wing MORONS say, "Gas lines" whenever they say "Carter," just like they say, "Clinton" whenever a red-publican gets caught in a sex scandal.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT REPUBLICANS!!!!! And I am saying that as a member of the democratic wing of the Democratic party. This is about CORPORATE LOBBYISTS. The same corporate money that brought us Bush, is bringing us Shillary. Hey, Ron Paul is a Republican, Ron Paul was the only Republican candidate not to accept corporate funding, is it any wonder then that Ron Paul doesn't sound like any of the other candidates? Well, why be surprised then when Hillary sounds like those Republican candidates, if the same corporate elites are funding her campaign? Hillary isn't just stealing the nomination for herself, but for her corporate handlers. The corporate elite CAN NOT allow Obama, a guy who's campaign is not funded by corporate lobbyists but by we the people, a guy with no strings attached, steal *their* Democratic party. If they do, the Republican party might break it's chains too, and then Big-Money would have no way to control our federal government.

4)It was 6 months before Soviets invaded Afgan when Carter signed that resolution.
5)Since we know the results of the war you just admitted Carter help start which brought down the Soviet Union. So starting a war is ok if it is done under a secret resolution??? Starting a war with the Soviets was ok since we now know the outcome? If it was ok, why did Carter do it in secret, even secret from Congress?
Don't you think a little thought and Congressional discussion over getting Soviets involved in a war we started would be good since Soviets and USA had enough Nuclear Bombs to wipe out the earth?
Bush's sought out Congressional Approval on both Iraq Wars, Carter did it in secret, and you say Carter was not wrong in his actions??
If you read history, it was Democrat Congressman Charlie Wilson who, through the CIA, championed Afgan cause while Reagan was in office and kept the arms flowing to Afgan under the Carter Directive, now known. It was also the Democrats who had control of the purse strings to pay for the arms to Afgan.

Then I guess we can give Carter the credit for the arms that made AQ and OBL powerful and who they are today. No Carter arms deal no AQ no 9/11. Is it not what Dems have blamed Reagan for so long, that the arms sent to Afgan created the monster OBL and AQ. Now we know it was Carter and his secret directive that got arms to Afgan which led to creation of AQ and OBL

You forgot a few things

The Boland Act applied to the CIA and other inteligence agencies, but not to the NSC. No court has ever ruled that the Boland Act applied to the NSC. Reagan was investigated over the Iran-Condra Arms dealing and was not found of doing any wrong doing. The Boland Act was voted out by Congress and Congress then started funding the Condrs to the tune of $300 million. No one is guilty of any wrong doing in the Iran Condra affair.

Now for Carter
President Carter signed a top secret directive directing the CIA to give arms and supplies to the Muhajhadeen in Afgan. This was in direct violation of the Hughes-Ryan Act of 1974 which required the President of the US to report all covert operations of the CIA to one or more Congressional Commitees within a set time period. The amendment prohibited such conduct until the President issued findings that such covert action by the CIA was important to the national security.
Pres Carter issued no findings to Congress in violation of that Act. Carter's directive to the CIA was Top Secret and not found out until long after he left office.

That is the law Carter clearly broke and the Boland Act Reagan did not violate because it applied to the CIA and not the NSC

88. I can tell you something. Obama does not win caucusus, they are taken. I was very disappointed at what went on at my precint. You had Obama supporters about to smack an older man that was trying to explain what we needed to do. After all was said and done, no one even knew where are signatures were, for Clinton that is. Obama's people just took everything we were ounumbered it was ridiculous. I sincerely would have voted for either one but after this experience NO WAY JOSE!!!! The caucusus was a bunch of BULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now I see why Obama leads in that, they just get so getto and want to fight anyone that does not agree with their candidate
