31. What liberal built America? Ford, Edison, the Wright Brothers, Carnegie? Not many that I'd presume to be all that liberal pal. I guess your trying to stretch back to Eli Whitney and his cotton gin? Good grief, you couldn't be more idiotic.

32. Who says that the Republican nominee cannot be picked on? Here is something to ponder about your great war hero McCain. In his own words he stated he gave himself up after he was shot down. He also gave information to the enemy while being a POW. Real nice hero for all you republicans.

Robert, you should start your own blog. You could put whatever you want on it. You could have your own forum for advocating pollution, gang rape, torture and child prostistution.
You could call it,
"Robert Okane's ChickenHawk Report."

34. Jerry,
Please, if you were not a POW, don't begin to presume what McCain went through.

35. For anyone who thinks Ventura a fool, remember the man was a NAVY SEAL. A SEAL that goes into and doesn't die is no a fool. You may not agree with his politics, but please remember, he speaks from a combat experience perspective.

38. Cenk, you stink. What a waste of space your blog is. You cherry picked what you wanted us to know and left out criticism of Dems. You are so biased it reeks fronm your pores. Get over yourself . Write something that matters.

39. Jesse Ventura isn't any more special than any other member of the US military. Yes, he's a SEAL which means he's very good at killing, but he's not a General. He's a little picture guy.
Captain - I'm Sorry about our last conversation. I got carried away. Like most Americans I'm emotionally invested in Iraq, not just because I think we have to win, but because 5 recent HS grads that I coached and my wife taught are over there serving in all branches and my nephew was there for 2 years.
Like everybody else, I want this to be over. But we cannot allow Iran to control Iraq. That will be a huge disaster and would mean our military will be going right back and that can't happen.

40. Yeah Jesse!!!! I would vote for him for President or any office that he wanted. He has the balls to be honest and forthright, something none of the politicians running have. We need to get OUT of the Middle East before it totally bankrupts America and the middleclass (which it is close to doing!).

41. Oh, and one last thing...WOULD EVERYBODY PLEASE STOP TELLING EVERYBODY ELSE TO "READ A BOOK". (This discussion sounds like a librarian convention, or something.) Just make your point and stop assuming anybody who disagrees with you doesn't read. (There. I said it.)

42. Wouldn't you know it? The one time I use caps, I wind up in back of the guy who always uses caps and can't spell. Nice.

43. No where in the Constitution does it say that a President must have served in the military.
Remember that the closest that FDR came to military service was Asst. Sec. of the Navy during WWI, and that was before he was striken with polio. Yet, not only did he send men off to die in battle, but he was trying to get the U.S. into the Europrean war for more than a year prior to Pearl Harbor.
I don't think anyone ever called FDR a chickenhawk.
Let's also remember that George 41 first nominated John Tower to be Sec. of Defense. That nomination went down in flames, because of his drinking. So, Dick Cheney became the compromise that the Democrats readily accepted.
Also, Cheney toyed with the idea of running for president in 1996, and many people, including Democrats tired of Bill Clinton's many scandals, were disappointed that Cheney didn't run. A lot of people thought Cheney-Powell was the dream ticket that could easily defeat Clinton-Gore.
Finally, ask yourself this. Would you rather have a president who is unwilling to send troops into harm's way, or a president whose trigger finger is just a tiny bit itchy? I would much prefer the latter.
Look at the Civil War. Lincoln wanted to take the fight into the South, while George McClellan, when he had command of the Army of the Potomac, was afraid that the Confederacy had far more troops than intelligence was reporting.
Now, Lincoln did have a short stint in the Illinois militia during the Black Hawk War, but history shows that the prairie lawyer with limited formal education knew a lot more than a career army man who graduated 2nd in his class from West Point.

Your poor ex wife. Did you follow her around and nag her all day long? You sound more like a nagging wife. I hope there are no little Captains running around. Speaking of verbal child abuse, you probably could have been put in jail for verbal child abuse-nagging. Seeing your nagging posts, one can easily see why your wife and maybe kids threw you out of the house and divorced you.
