1. The Petraeus Paradox: If we're doing well, it's because of the extra troops so we shouldn't pull them out. If we're doing poorly, obviously we need more troops. Either way, we need more troops and need to stay in Iraq longer. This supposition is obvious nonsense, yet we're taking it seriously.
2. The central government of Iraq is a myth. It is neither central nor a government. It doesn't govern anything outside of the Green Zone and is run by one Shiite militia and in no way encompasses the Sunnis, the Kurds or the other Shiite factions.
3. Giving more time to a project headed in the wrong direction doesn't help the project, it hurts it. If you're going the wrong way, people aren't helping you by giving you more time to head in the wrong direction.
Here's a quick explanation of the myths of the Iraq War:

1. I have always believed that Iraq is nothing more than a factory for bush:
A money pump, in effect. A large-scale operation all set up to pump money from millions of people, up the chain, into the pockets of so very few.
Its product is the very generation of money.
Its industrial waste is lives, limbs, refugees, domestic safety and infrastructure, and vast unrealized opportunities.
There has never been any other purpose for the invasion of Iraq.

2. Great rant, Cenk! Unfortunately, logic doesn't hold sway with the 19 per centers.

3. 3 reasons a leftist fart would leave now.
1. So we can prove once and for all that the USA is the biggest threat to world peace.
2. So we can elect a bitch like Hillary or a fool like Obama and no one will notice.
3. To complete the destruction from within that gives these limp liberal turds a reason for living.

5. Hey, Cenk! You evidently lack the ability to review your own flawed reasoning? First of all ANYONE who thinks Joe Biden isn't a flawed person without an agenda not centered simply around on 'party before country' is silly in itself. In so far as the surge, we all know that mistakes were made but under Petraues and a new commitment to victory (not helped by the whining 'retreat and surrender Left) we have made results that will provide for a more peaceful Iraq and Middle East down the road. Make no mistake, this is NOT WWII but our enemies are as worse or more committed to death and destruction than ANY Nazi ever was. I see your plan is like every other liberal.....let us just leave and HOPE that things turn out ok. You sir, are a fool.

6. as much as it pain stakingly is he's right in the video! The real dilemma is how do we get a plan to achieve success, which will give us the ability to start withdrawls & do it by somehow combining all factions into one fully functional democratic gov't. Petraeus, Crocker & Bush are wading in the water just waiting to drown. What a nightmare this whole war is. I said from the beginning the moment it was declared to the moment the first soldier placed his/her foot on Iraq soil this was going to be a blood bath & a "go knowhere" skermish. Which now has become a civil war over power & oil! What a waste of tax dollars & human lives! Republicans will pay for these atrocities for decades to come! hahahahahah :)

8. Of course whiny, pure-agenda haters like Stank are completely unqualified to weigh in on issues of any substance. He has yet to learn that wishful innuendo and fact are two different things, so credibility goes out the window with word one.
However, noting his point 3-
Giving more time to a project headed in the wrong direction doesn't help the project, it hurts it. If you're going the wrong way, people aren't helping you by giving you more time to head in the wrong direction.
I wonder how many Time-Warner memos with "RE: Young Turks Blog on AOL" in the subject line contain that paragraph...

11. Steve, don't let our media trick you into being afraid. That's what the ruling party wants. Fear. It's how they win elections. And it's the only reason that they do.

12. Some people are so gullible. The only winners in all of this Iraq invasion are iran, which was always counter-balanced by sadaam; and al qaeda, which had nothing to do with iraq to begin with.
Anyone with rudimentary knowledge of the middle east knows at the very least, the former. If you dont want to believe the latter about al qaeda, fine. But dont be surprised that iran is beating its chest now.
We have killed the enemy of our two biggest enemies. This is about the stupidest strategist fuck-up you can make.

13. Our lying corrupt little Nero (Bush) refuses to tell us the real truth of what is happening in HIS
war...and Sen. McBush (clone) tries to be even a BIGGER liar. Ya'll better vote for the Dems. if you want to be free from the Rep. cess pool.
mdembree at 2:24PM on Apr 10th 2008
14. All the lying Left has to offer is hate filled emotion aimed exclusively at our government and other Americans. Anger aimed at us, and not a single bad word for Radical Islam. Nothing new here
Clearly, the only threat a limp Lefty girlyman can see are other Americans to the exclusion of the very dangerous world we live in. Clue: Obama holding hands with Madmanijad and singing cumbyha won't solve a damn thing, but Leftist trash will love us.
Thomas J Gassett at 2:47PM on Apr 10th 2008
15. There has never been any other purpose for the invasion of Iraq.
>>
You say it with the certainty of a lunatic, and with nothing but an ugly Leftist bias to back it up. Nothing new here.
Clue: IN the world before 911 President Clinton saw the threat of Iraq and made regime change American policy.
"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." -- Bill Clinton in 1998, WHEN BUSH WAS THE GOVERNOR OF TEXAS.
IN the world after 911, no US president, be he democrat or republican, would tollerate a mass murderer that had used WMD, had ties to terrorist, and called for the destruction of the Great Satan (us) daily.
That you and your Leftist comrades can't seem to grasp this real world reality suggest you should concentrate on cartoons, and leave the real world to those of us that live in it.
