MSN today has an item on its homepage that appears to be vying for the Guinness World Record for Most Clichés in a Lifestyle Post. It's called the Wife's Bill of Rights, and here's a sample:Amendment I
We have the right to dislike your buddies.
We know it's important for you to have your guy friends, but you should know by now that we're not turned on by your stories of the good old days at college, your sexual exploits, or which relief pitcher the Red Sox should trade. Disappear for a while and be boys-it's OK, go chug beer and high-five-but please don't expect us to be happy when your friends come over and put their feet on our coffee tables or leave their beer cans on the floor.
Amendment II
We have the right to experience PMS in all its glory.
Either give us our space or accept the consequences. We know it's unfair, but some of us just can't rein it in.
Aren't we all a little more sophisticated in our romantic relationships than this? Aren't men and women way more on the same page than these stereotype-saturated lists suggest? These days, we all make money. We all do dishes. Why do these PMS/burp punchlines still exist?
(Also, we looked at the website (pictured) of the woman who wrote the Wife's Bill of Rights and she's totally the Julia Allison of Park City, Utah.)

1. Ada,
Actually, my wife likes my friends better than hers. For one thing, my friends return phone calls. She has friends that she calls, and they don't call back for 6 months.
Her problem is that her friends have such large families that they don't have time for friends.
Now, my wife does get annoyed that I remember football plays from 30 years ago. She was glad when Comcast pulled ESPN Classic, because I watched and yelled at games that took place years ago.
But, she calls me all the time to pick my brain on sports, politics, and business quesitons.

5. Please, do you live in this world? Do you have a man in your life?? Gimme a break lady, you're dreaming if you think 'we all do dishes' and when you're a little wiser you might realize life IS a bad sit-com....do you think they make that up?

6. It's about damn time someone sat down and compiled these articles! While I may disagree with some of the rights wives claim, that's why I swore to never get into a long-term relationship with any woman. It seems to be a cultural thing (I refuse to assume it's innately part of the female mind, as I've seen many men act this way too).
