We missed out on a couple of the major drama shows of the past decade, so we may be wrong, but we strongly suspect Sesame Street is the best series in television history. Gwynne, our Babble colleague, just came up with a mountain of evidence: fifty of the most memorable moments in the show's history. Check them out here and let us know in comments if we missed any of your favorites.

1. Actually Mitt Romney reminds me of Guy Smiley!

2. #16 was actually Jack Sheldon, not Isaac Hayes. Sheldon is best known for Schoolhouse Rock.

3. What about Super Grover? Or the In Between skit? Or "This is Your Life!" or the "Me and My Llama" song where the girl takes the llama to the dentist? Or Ernie dancing himself to sleep with the boogie-woogie sheep? And then there's always the "Everybody Sleeps" song. I still sing that one occasionally. But all in all, a very good compilation!

4. haha! i agree with the commenter that recommends the boogie woogie sheep song!(i sing that to a friend at work) and the llama rocks! i thought i was the only one that remembered that one!
When i was little I was terrified about this group of African American singers that I would howl and cry when they came on-20+ years later, my family still reminds me about it.

5. Thank you so much...Some might find this article immature, but for me it was a great walk down memory lane...a reminder of a simpler time of my life...Oh, does Guy Smiley remind anyone else of Bob Saget?
