There are several overwhelming reasons why Hillary Clinton's argument's about the popular vote is absolute nonsense. She argues that she is winning the popular vote and that is what should matter in figuring out who the nominee will be. Neither one of these things is remotely true for the reasons we explain below:

32. Hey there Big Guy,
I didn't buy your pitch boss. Arianna Huffington and George Soros and other Obama supporters need reminding there are 50 states in our great nation not 48. Florida and Michigan are still hanging out there...."count all the votes" (Al Gore 2004).
I don't understand what Soros and Huffington find so offensive about all Americans voting instead of just a hand selected few.
She stays in bossman. She stays in until all party members voices are heard. And yes, All includes small town Americans who Obama and his supporters backhanded for such beliefs as religion, gun ownership and immigration law enforcement.

33. I think Paul sparcello or whatever you call your self is a punk and have not been honest enough to realize that clintons were even living with drug pusher and criminals in the white house, not to talk of all lobbyists and skunks she associate her self with.Paul has been so blind or intentionally dishonest not to recognize Mcain's sexual relationship with female lobbyists and his hateful pastor Hagee but you and media has ignored all that because of color of skin. Paul,Please shut up your mouth and be truthful to your self because OBAMA would have been chased out of this race if it was Hilary Clinton who won 11 contests in a row.

34. to Kristine,
I appreciate your loyalty to Mrs. Clinton, but I'd like to rectify a few things that have been distorted by the media, and unfortunately, have been picked up by the average person as "facts":
You assert that Senator Obama "lacks experience." In fact, Mrs. Clinton is the one who lacks experience. Senator Obama was a state senator for 8 years and a U.S. senator for nearly 4, as opposed to Mrs. Clinton's nearly 8 years as a senator.
In addition, Senator Obama authored or co-authored over 200 bills in just his first 8 years in office. These include a bill that requires police to videotape confessions to make sure they're not forced, the Obama-Lugar bill which tracks weapons that could destroy airplanes, etc., and a bill which gave healthcare to children in Illinois. There are others as well.
Check Mrs. Clinton's record, and you'll come across a bill honoring a lacrosse team, as well as other very bland topics (no insult meant to the team.)
You and other Clinton supporters must be aware that Mrs. Clinton has lied not once or twice, but on every occasion she can, in order to enhance her lack of a record. If being in the White House with bill counted as experience, then Monica Lewinsky should be running for president.
Some people say that the press is bringing up the "old news" about the lies of dodging "sniper fire" in Bosnia, but lies don't suddenly turn into truth if you stop talking about them.
Do you really want someone who so desperately wants to rule this country, that she is willing to destroy the Democratic party?
Please...someone tell me how you can vote for a person who is, in the immortal words of NY Times writer William Safire, "a congenital liar?" Even if she had experience...which she clearly does not...how can you rationalize her non-stop untruths? Do you really want someone like this leading the country? People complain about Bush and Cheney and their lies....but their fibs pale in comparison to Bill Clinton's wife and her preposterous myths to advance her agenda.
The only "negative campaigning" is coming from Mrs. Clinton. Senator Obama declined to address her vicious lies, but at a certain point, he had to politely point them out. He is not the one waging this negative war.
Her actions show that she wants to drag the entire Democratic party down with her, as she lies to herself about the fact that she is losing.
When Senator Obama becomes president, she'll continue to make vicious, lying attacks on him. Wake up, Clinton supporters. This woman wants the U.S. to go down the tubes with her.

35. Cenk...forget it already. Obama will never make it to the oval office. Hillary will have a heard time too because a lot of people just don't like her. The Democrats really screwed themselves and there is no getting around it...if they don't choose an excellent running mate, then neither of these candidates will be electable. We will be staring at another four years of Republican rule, and the Democrats will have no one to blame but themselves.

36. Obama is ahead in pledged delegates, in the popular vote, in the states, and at this point, in the super delegate count as well. And as far as Hillary is concerned, I wouldn't vote for her in Nov. no matter what, her campaign is in serious debt, she doesn't pay her bills, she can't even provide health care for her staffers, how will she ever be able fix the problems of this country. Oh thats right, she'll do it by threatening to obliterate Iran.

37. Why Hillary Makes My Wife Scream
by TOM HAYDEN
[posted online on April 22, 2008]
My wife Barbara has begun yelling at the television set every time she hears Hillary Clinton. This is abnormal behavior, since Barbara is a meditative practitioner of everything peaceful and organic, and is inspired by Barack Obama's transformational appeal.
For Barbara, Hillary has become the screech on the blackboard. From First Lady to Lady Macbeth. It's getting to me as well. Last year, I was somewhat reconciled to the prospect of supporting and pressuring Hillary as the nominee amidst the rising tide of my friends who already hated her, irrationally I thought.
I was one of those people Barack accuses of being willing to settle. I even had framed a flattering autographed message from Hillary. But as the campaign has gone on and on, her signed portrait still leans against the wall in my study. I don't know where she belongs anymore.
At least Hillary was a known quantity in my life. I knew of the danger of her becoming more and more hawkish as she tried to break the ultimate glass ceiling. I also knew that she could be forced to change course if public opinion was fiercely opposed to the war. And I knew she was familiar with radical social causes from her own life experience in the sixties.
So my progressive task seemed clear: help build an antiwar force powerful enough to make it politically necessary to end the war. Been there, done that. And in the process, finally put a woman in the White House. A soothing bonus. But as the Obama campaign gained momentum, Hillary began morphing into the persona that has my pacifist wife screaming at the television set.
Going negative doesn't begin to describe what has happened. Hillary is going over the edge. Even worse are the flacks she sends before the cameras on her behalf, like that Kiki person, who smirks and shakes her head at the camera every time she fields a question. Or the real carnivores, like Howard Wolfson, Lanny Davis and James Carville, whose sneering smugness prevents countless women like my wife from considering Hillary at all.
To use the current terminology, Hillary people are bitter people, even more bitter than the white working-class voters Barack has talked about. Because they circle the wagons so tightly, they don't recognize how identical, self-reinforcing and out-of-touch they are.
To take just one example, the imagined association between Barack Obama and Bill Ayers will suffice. Hillary is blind to her own roots in the sixties. In one college speech she spoke of ecstatic transcendence; in another, she said, "Our social indictment has broadened. Where once we exposed the quality of life in the world of the South and the ghettos, now we condemn the quality of work in factories and corporations. Where once we assaulted the exploitation of man, now we decry the destruction of nature as well. How much longer can we let corporations run us?"
She was in Chicago for three nights during the 1968 street confrontations. She chaired the 1970 Yale law school meeting where students voted to join a national student strike against an "unconscionable expansion of a war that should never have been waged." She was involved in the New Haven defense of Bobby Seale during his murder trial in 1970, as the lead scheduler of student monitors. She surely agreed with Yale president Kingman Brewster that a black revolutionary couldn't get a fair trial in America.
She wrote that abused children were citizens with the same rights as their parents. Most significantly in terms of her recent attacks on Barack, after Yale law school, Hillary went to work for the left-wing Bay Area law firm of Treuhaft, Walker and Burnstein, which specialized in Black Panthers and West Coast labor leaders prosecuted for being communists. Two of the firm's partners, according to Treuhaft, were communists and the two others "tolerated communists".
Then she went on to Washington to help impeach Richard Nixon, whose career was built on smearing and destroying the careers of people through vague insinuations about their backgrounds and associates. (All these citations can be found in Carl Bernstein's sympathetic 2007 Clinton biography, A Woman in Charge.)
All these were honorable words and associations in my mind, but doesn't she see how the Hillary of today would accuse the Hillary of the sixties of associating with black revolutionaries who fought gun battles with police officers, and defending pro-communist lawyers who backed communists? Doesn't the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whom Hillary attacks today, represent the very essence of the black radicals Hillary was associating with in those days? And isn't the Hillary of today becoming the same kind of guilt-by-association insinuator as the Richard Nixon she worked to impeach?
It is as if Hillary Clinton is engaged in a toxic transmission onto Barack Obama of every outrageous insult and accusation ever inflicted on her by the American right over the decades. She is running against what she might have become. Too much politics dries the soul of the idealist.
It is abundantly clear that the Clintons, working with FOX News and manipulating old Clinton staffers like George Stephanopoulos, are trying, at least unconsciously, to so damage Barack Obama that he will be perceived as "unelectable" to Democratic superdelegates. It is also clear that the campaign of defamation against Obama has resulted in higher negative ratings for Hillary Clinton. She therefore is threatening the Democratic Party's chances for the White House, whether or not she is the nominee.
Since no one in the party leadership seems able or willing to intervene against this self-destructive downward spiral, perhaps progressives need to consider responding in the only way politicians sometimes understand. If they can't hear us screaming at the television sets, we can send a message that the Clintons are acting as if they prefer John McCain to Barack Obama. And follow it up with another message: if Clinton doesn't immediately cease her path of destruction, millions of young voters and black voters may not send checks, may not knock on doors, and may not even vote for her if she becomes the nominee. That's not a threat, that's the reality she is creating.

38. Dave, Obama won more delegates in Texas because delegates are awarded according to Congressional district won. Obama simply won more congressional districts, or at least the district(s) with the most delegates. It happened in PA as well. He took Philly and nearly half of the delegates for the entire state. Think about it...if we had a winner take all system as the Republicans have, this election would have been decided on Super Tuesday. But then again, McCain only picked up 73% of the Republican vote in PA, which could translate to mean 26% of PA Republicans will vote for Clinton or Obama in Nov.
erie_angel at 10:29AM on Apr 26th 2008
39. Why not just divide up the Michigan and Florida votes and delegates between Obama and Clinton 50/50.

Can you say MACACA!!!!!!!
(:(:(: Well I am waiting for BARACKA :):):)
I wonder if your Chicagoland Political Thug/Machine Politician, Obama, is going to explain to Chris Wallace what racist traits are bread into me as he stated in his sorry "Throw White Granny under the Bus" speech.
BTW: Would the Liberal Media fall silent and allow any Republican candidate to spend 20 years in the Church of the Fiery Cross, associate with unrepentant domestic terrorist, make statements of how 'Drug Dealing and Stealing' are bread into Black People and insult the Religious and Constitutional choices of millions of American Citizens?
The answer is: NO-Bama!!!!!!!

41. Has anyone given any thought to the fact that the Republicans are eager for Hilary to win the nomination so that they can drop something explosive about Bill and destroy her chances of being elected.
For the first time in my life I am going to vote for a Republicn...the Dems just can't seem to get it together...yet again.

43. Fact there have been government run primaries and HILLARY CLINTON HAS THE POPULAR VOTE>>Fact The democratic party have decided to take away votes of people from WHOLE STATES..because of the actions of a few..IS THIS THE DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY WE ARE FIGHTING IN IRAQ TO HAVE?? OR ARE WE LIVING A DICTATORSHIP HERE???BY the democrates not using the legal results of those primaries they are altering the end result and swaying a primary! Because a primary was held out of turn does not disqulify the votes that were cast..BOTH PARTIES WERE REPRESENTED IN BOTH STATES Hillary choosing to put her name on the ballad on both states..Obama choosing only in Florida to put his name on the ballad..and in Michigan to be represented in the Uncommitted column..yet still represented..BOTH CANDIDATES DID NOT CAMPAIGN under the same set of circumstances..in each state which was the only thing they were not allow to do..but it was not said they could not put the name on the ballot..Which candidate chose the more look ahead approach by putting her name on both ballads and who chose to position himself in a group...either way YOU HAVE AN OUTCOME.!!.IN BOTH ELECTIONS AS THEY WERE BOTH REPRESENTED IN SOME WAY AND ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE FENCE BOTH UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCE OF NOT CAMPAIGNING>>ALTHOUGH I THINK I heard Obama advertised for two weeks in Florida..either way..HILLARY SLAMMED OBAMA IN BOTH ELECTIONS>AND WE HAVE 50 states not 48 and the result are there ..WHAT DON"T WE KNOW HILLARY WON BOTH AND BOTH WERE REPRESENTED IN SOME WAY>OBAMA DID NOT TELL HIS VOTERS NOT TO VOTE HE SAID VOTE UNCOMMITTED>>YOU CANNOT COUNT A PRIMARY WITH ONLY COUNTING 48 states..so use the results...as OBAMA IS ON A DOWNWARD SPIRAL ANYWAY AND HAS NOT CAPTURED THE BIG STATES AND RESULTS SHOW HE DIDN"T CAPTURE THEM THE LAST PRIMARIES >>....YOU CAN WASTE MONEY BUT EVERYONE KNOWS YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR RESULTS....>THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY SHOULD BE MORE CONCERN WITH THE BACKLASH IN THE ELECTION FROM THE PEOPLE OF THESE STATES WHO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ARE NOT COUNTING THEIR VOTES THEN WORRIED ABOUT A BIAS STATEMENT THAT THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT STEALING AN ELECTION AWAY FROM OBAMA AND THE BLACKS WILL RETALIATE>>YOU CAN"T STEAL SOMETHING FROM OBAMA HE DOESN"T HAVE>>UNDER THE RULES OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ALL 50 states votes should be considered NOT 48 that dramatically steals the elections from the one perons in world who has more legitimate popular vote in the history of the UNITED STATES HILLARY CLINTON! YOU CAN"T HAVE AN HONEST ELECTION AND NOT COUNT all THE VOTES OF THOSE PEOPLE! THOSE WHO WANTED TO VOTE DID >>AND THAT IS HOW ELECTIONS ARE HELD AND VOTES ARE COUNTED>THE CHANGE IS AGAINST OBAMA NOT FOR!!they did not vote for him in record numbers before and there is even less reason they would vote for Obama now!!!!HILLARY 2008!
Bye Obama at 5:10PM on Apr 26th 2008
44. Please Cenk, try to keep up. The DNC is already planning on seating half the delegates from Florida and Michigan, and ALL the super-delegates. They are meeting on May 31st to work out the details. Also, you are completely wrong about the popular vote. If you count all votes, by registered voters, in certified primaries this year.....Hillary leads. The DNC can choose to throw out those votes, but that's not the same thing as saying they DON'T EXIST. The super-delegates can use ANY criteria of their choosing Cenk, regardless of math. Also, Obama has an actual weakness with the Democratic base, a fatal disconnect that could cost the Democrats the election. Hillary is behind in delegates....which means NOTHING outside of the our convoluted primary system. It would have no effect on her chances in the general election. The super-delegates can't ignore the Democratic base, or the key swing states, because we can't win without them. And right now, Hillary is the stronger of the two candidates.
She is tied with McCain in Florida, while Obama lags far behind.
And she leads McCain in Pennsylvania as well. If she won these
states, and/or Ohio where she is strong, she would secure the
nomination. I can't say with complete certainty who will win, but
I can say this. The super-delegates can stop Hillary from proceeding,
but it's the voters that can stop Obama. Hillary will have an easier
time winning over super-delegates than Obama will winning over women,
seniors, working class whites and Reagan Democrats.

45. Cenk, why don't you shut the F. up and go away for good ? It doesn't matter what you and the others say. Like it or not John McCain is going to be our next president. As a democrat I can't even imagine why in the world anybody in his/her right main would consider voting for Hussein.
