I listened to your pitch and only bought a small piece of it. I for one have had enough of Obama, his wife and pastor talking about patriotism.

And as far as his association with Bill Ayers, the terrorist that went around setting off IED's in Washington D.C and NYC in the 70's ...well, Obama has said they only sat on one Board together, they only live in the same neighborhood, their children played together and when Ayers was setting off those IED's, Obama was only 8.....so what the crap!

9. Some posts have stated that attacking "a war hero as unpatriotic" is bound to fail. How soon we forget - that's just what Bush et al. successfully accomplished in 2004. Samuel Johnson said it all in 1775 - "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel". Patriotism is putting selfish needs behind the needs of the nation. It isn't false bravado or mindless support for illogical and/or failed policies.

10. Sincere question that came up because of a post on patriotism: How many 2nd amendment defenders out there support Constitutional amendments defining marriage, proscribing flag burning, or prohibiting abortion?

What is my point? The original Constitution used 2/3 of the number of slaves as part of the formula to determine representation in Congress. Because the Constitution is a living document, the founders provided a process of amendment to account for differing perspectives in the future.

12. Just a few facts. You are all entitled to your opinions but not to your own facts. First, Lee Harvey Oswald shot marksman, the lowest qualifying ranking, not sharpshooter, the middle rank for shooters. Second, the Constitution includes the 3/5 Compromise, where for representation purposes, only three out of every five slaves would be counted in apportioning Congressional seats not 2/3 as Steve would have it. Sorry, Steve, you played hookey that day.

15. McCain is not a war hero. He's a victim of the horrible war crime of torture but he is not a hero. A hero is someone who saves the lives of others. He has done nothing to earn the title of "hero". Many soldiers have been held and tortured and no one refers to them as heroes.
