Ferris Wheels. They're quaint, some say outdated. Like bustles and daguerreotypes.
I happen to prefer Rollercoasters, but this isn't about me. The 180 Either/Or Series is about you making difficult and important choices.
Special thanks to the two hobos who made an exclusive appearance via the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and Time Machine.

1. Damn, my Mo still hasn't jumped on the blog?!
I thought my temper tantrum would've definitely done the trick.
Oh well, I need to go back and finish reading the comments on the "Tim Gunn" post, and watch the video on this one.

3. NEW JERSEY! I live near that Six Flags. Its called Great Adventure...
Anyway, I prefer old fashioned Ferris Wheels. Rollercoasters are just too fast for me but I do love how crazy they are.

4.
My dearest Mo,
I think merry-go-rounds are too fast so I choose Ferris Wheels.
I LOVE haunted houses but actually passed out on a roller coaster in SLC (not a good city to pass out in I might add)
I like when you get stopped on the very tip top-you can recreate the best scene from The Third Man.

5. Mo- This is indeed a difficult and important choice to make! Would I prefer to be locked in a vicious circle or derailed by extreme ups and downs? Like many people, I have experienced both scenarios in my life and have found that a rollercoaster is the better choice to get back on track (as evidenced by the shorter lines at the ferris wheel).

6. Mo,
This is so hard, I love both!
Ferris Wheels....they are dreamy.....
I was stuck on a ferris wheel in Minnesota on a vacation trip as a kid, it was scary as we were draped across the "safey bar" like limp chromosomes for far too long at the highest point...I remember thinking,"man I DON'T want to die in such a DIPPY way!" Oh, plus the "dork" factor...geeze imagine!
Blayze...NJ- Six Flags...oh yeah........:)

8. Aw Mo,
Roller Coaster.
Now, for the essay.
Normally, I would enjoy either one, but I would certainly be more inclined to lean (is that redundant?) toward the Ferris Wheel. The wait in line is shorter. But I enjoy a fear (I’m sure you know the name for this) for man-made spindly (is that a word?) objects. I have no problem standing on a precipice while mountain climbing and staring down a steep cliff. I would also be quite comfortable dancing the Macarena on top of an Egyptian pyramid, because they have endured the test of time. But I do not care for suspension bridges or tall buildings. I don’t trust them.
Ferris Wheel v. Roller Coaster? Well, the roller coaster comes off as more rugged, (although I always do a full walk through of the track before I go on one, which usually lands me in jail.) The roller coaster is the Chuck Norris of amusement park rides to the Ferris Wheel’s Doris Day. And lately, and on a sad and weird note, why have there been so many spindly crane accidents? I wouldn’t go out on a crane to save Crafty, and I think we all know how I feel about Crafty.
That said, “Hobo” is a really interesting word. The Etymology Jury is still out on it. I like the Hoboken argument, because I swear that the guy on the right looked like Blayze. Anyone up for the Hobo Convention in Britt, Iowa ’08?
And now, a nice little railroad ditty:

10. Mo,
I have to say rollercoaster. I have always had a unnatural fear of Ferris Wheels. Just thinking about them breaks me out in a cold sweat.

12. Clem- Too funny! The "Limp Chromosomes" sounds like a ride at Epcot or something (which it very well could be...since I've never been there I have no way of knowing).
I suppose The Zipper ride combines the best of both worlds!

13. Ferris wheel. Or I will hurl (dang motion sickness!).

14. Aw Mo,
Since I have answered the question above, I just thought I'd add a little coloratura.
Actually, my favorite ride is the Carousel.
But, if anyone is bored and really wants to blend amusement with history, I provide some local pride:

15. Im baaaaack!
You are right Clemmie, we got some crazy coasters thanks to Kennywood. THE best place for coasters in the US. We still even have old ass wooden coasters from the 20's! the Racers, Steel Phantom (THE BEST!) TONS of good ones.
The best one was the Jack Rabbit. If you sat at the end car you flew out of your seat once you hit the double dip. It was AWESOME.
Heres a good clip of our biggest coaster now, the Steel Phantom. Its now called the Phantoms revenge. Its still the fastest coaster around I think. It has gotten ridiculous the past few years with add-ons and stuff. Best coaster i've ever ever ever been on. (Even cooler than the one at Kings Island in Ohio where your feet dangle...creepy!!!)

If anyone is ever in the area let me know, well go on the Sky Coaster :)
