Hilary Clinton has lost!!!!!! It's over!
It's been over for a long time now, but Senator Clinton has managed to hoodwink the media into playing the expectations game -- where people's expectations are more relevant that the reality of who is winning more states and delegates. But reality has a way of catching up with you.
I looked at the number of delegates Clinton and Obama had before the Ohio and Texas contest on March 4th and how many they have now. What do you think the result was? The media has been talking non-stop about Hillary's momentum and how Obama has been stumbling. So, that must mean she has really closed his lead, right?
Well, the reality is that Senator Clinton has lost 53 delegates since then to Barack Obama. He has widened his delegate lead to 155 delegates. She has absolutely no chance of winning this race. None.
How much clearer does this have to be before we call it what it is? She has no momentum. She does not have enough pledged delegates or superdelegates. She will not win the delegate race or the popular vote. She can't go on much longer like this. She will have to face reality very, very soon.
The only question that remains is whether she will be pushed out the door by the rest of the Democratic Party or whether she leaves voluntarily. Stay tuned for how that turns out.

16. Russ #14, "Muslims don't believe women should ...
lead a nation"? That must be why they've elected
twice as many of them (Benazir Bhutto, Megawati
Sukarnoputri, and two whose names I don't remember in Bangladesh), in far more populous countries, as "the West" has (Margaret Thatcher and Angela Merkel are the only ones who come to mind in "major" European countries, never mind the US&A). I'll bet a lot of Muslims voted for
Indira Gandhi too (at least if her opposition was Hindu nationalists (;-)). Probably even some Muslim Israeli Arabs voted for Golda Meir, or at least for her Arab coalition partners.

17. Russ - That's a good point but I think the Islamic Radicals would probably hate Obama just as much as they hate the rest of us.
Dave at 11:27AM on May 7th 2008
18. They shall keep playing the expectations game because it draws ratings. That's all the news cares about. Not truth, not people. Money. Ratings.
Strados at 11:31AM on May 7th 2008
19. From Russ:
>>...but maybe his Muslim heritage would win him some points and ease their ire against him/us. Just a thought.>>
IF THAT'S THE GREATEST ASSET AND THE ONLY THING (HIS MUSLIM HERITAGE)THAT OBAMA HAS TO OFFER TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY, THEN HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO LEAD THIS GREAT NATION. PERIOD!!!

20. Russ,
Electing our presidents based in part on how they may or may not appeal to foreign entities on an ethnic, gender or religious basis is a bit of a slippery slope.

21. Listen up-it takes more than cunning and wit, more than campaigning, more than GRIT, and more than saying "I can be there for you at three a.m" to be President.
Obama and Clinton are both well qualified to be President considering the eggplant for brains thats in there now.
I think its more than time we Democrats and Independents wake up and smell the coffee, and then turn the whole damn hot pot over on McCain's head, as either one of our candidates is apparently better than 10 of yours. Seems like the GOP butchered some of their better stuff (i.e. Romney) out so as not to be bothered by pesky little questions of religion....
So just hang in there and let US have the adult discussion about just what this country really needs for leadership, policy, and direction. The extreme partisan republicans deserve another 50 years plus out of it, for all the harm their policies have directly and indirectly caused. And for those of you that are more American than Republican, there is a place for you at the table with either Hillary or Barack, and thats what makes us the better choice!

22. "Obama and Clinton are both well qualified to be President considering the eggplant for brains thats in there now."
You've set the bar pretty low.
Your party has effectively gotten rid of Hillary. So how about you pick 3-5 pressing issues and explain how Obama intends to solve them?
bob at 12:56PM on May 7th 2008
23. Barack Obama is not now, and never has been a Muslim; he was not raised as a muslim. Each person who repeats this untruth makes themselves a willing participant in a blatant lie conceived by those who are nothing less than virulent racists. Yiour twisted and warped perspective and your weak-kneed fear has led you to accept thinsg that are patently false. The tragedy is many of you will actulaly go to the polls and vote your fears and prejudices. The price you will pay is another four years of the worst government this nation has experienced in modern history. You need to ask yourselves if you want more of what has been happening the last eight years. This nation is almost bankrupt; we are a debtor nation to China, one of our biggest enemies; the middle class wage earners job is being sent overseas to cheap labor and we get poison products sent back to our markets; gasoline, food, housing are all rising to astronomical heights, the Constitution has been tossed out like waste paprer; people in held in prison for over six years with no charges or convictions, wire taps at will for any reason the government chooses, invasions of privacy; the list goes on and on. With all of this going on the best you dummies can come up with is, "Barack Obama is a Muslim." If you are enjoying the current economy and having a good time then vote McCain into office; what little Bush leaves us will fast disappear if McCain is elected.

Thank you for pointing out the fact that indeed we are “Trapped in an inferno of robotic zombies”.
I find it fascinating to read posts from the “so call Democrats” praising Hillary and slamming Barack, or visa-versa, I cannot help but think it is the work of little minded Rush Limbaugh’s peasants trying very hard to cause mayhem among Democrats.
Moreover, go back and let the drug addict comidian Rush his little despicable Anti-American ploy is not working, while you “robotic zombies” are at it, let the Fox jokers know this as well.

25. bob- the President doesn't have to mastermind solutions to anything. If they have ideas, great. But they're part of a bigger government than a MONARCHY. We have a House and Senate who have committees and hearings to solve our problems too. Let's not forget cabinet members.
I personally want a LEADER who wants what is best for citizens of AMERICA. And the best means NO WAR.
Strados at 2:06PM on May 7th 2008
26. Strados,
Like it or not your candidate (whomever that may be) is going to have a war on their hands from day one. They had better have a plan in place for handling that situation - from day one.
It's not going to go away because that person wants what's best for the citizens of America.
Voting for someone because they aren't who their predecessor was is how we ended up with what we have today.
I'll leave that up to you to decide how that turned out.

27. It is only over in your biased, beady, litle mind sweetheart.
Barrack Obama..be very afraid America

28. To be honest, I just want this to be over. I've been a Hillary supporter from the beginning, but the media has been beating her down and I'm tired of it. You think Obama can beat John McCain? By all means, make him the nominee. You'll soon find out that he won't even make a dent and will go down in history for all the almighty rioting black community to remember as a failure and another "good old boy." I just read an article yesterday reinforcing my opinion. Apparently, the Republicans now want Obama to be the nominee because they realize he's still got a lot of skeletons in the closet that they can pull out and use against him. And they're right. But you know what, the democratic party is going to do what it wants and make Obama the nominee. I just don't want to see Hillary on that ticket, because she isn't the one who failed us. The DNC as well as the uneducated media has.

29. Republitards are scared witless of Obama.
Dick Armey advocating Hillary is HILARIOUS!!!
We can see who the republitards want to run against.
Fact is, EITHER Democrat would stomp McCain *today*, but there is no telling what will happen if Obama gets the nomination. We know what will happen if Hillary gets the nomiation. Might as well just not vote.
30% of Hillary's supporters say they will vote for McCain if Obama gets the nomination. If you, gentle reader, are one of those 30%, I sincerely hope that you will MAN UP and stop being little babies. Recognize, 30%ers, that the fate of the nation may well depend on you displaying some maturity.
And, anyone out there who is as IGNORANT AS OKANE, should wise up. If you still think that Obama is a Muslim, you should recognize that you aren't intelligent enough to participate in a democracy. Stick to listening to AM-hate- radio in your bunkers.
Captain Negative at 3:50PM on May 7th 2008
30. Funches - Let me see if I've got this straight: This nation is in trouble because we owe China big-time (I agree with that part) so therefore we have to elect a black guy President to solve the problem. Huh?
Do you think, just maybe we might need to find the right person for the job and then worry about what their race or gender is later?
The more conservatives discuss Barrack Obama's 's qualifications, the more folks like you continue to shamelessly throw the race card around and try and make race the primary issue here.
One can believe that Obama is unqualified to hold the highest elected office in the land without being a racist, so please stop the demagogic, condescending nonsense.
