Iron Man vs. Made of Honor: Seems more lopsided than Obama vs. Clinton. What would it take for you (all of you, not just superdelegates) to choose Made of Honor at the multiplex?

16. Hey, Andrea, don't knock the chick flicks; they're not all bad. But I do agree with you on "Sleepless..."; "When Harry Met Sally" is way better!
And let's be honest, "Made of Honor" is just a rip-off of "My Best Friend's Wedding".
The moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup...

17. It never fails to amaze me how many idiots are out there who listen to the critics before they chose to see a movie!!! I have seen both the flicks. They are very different so it is tough to make a comparison. Made of Honor was EXCELLENT...the audience and I laughed out loud at some VERY funny lines and situations, there was a great deal of reality in the story line as well as a lot of human pathos in the rest. It was a very nice movie, we all enjoyed it. Went with a friend and her husband...even HE enjoyed it. To call it a chick flick is to dismiss it unjustly. But what is WRONG with something being a chick flick anyway?
Ironman was a scifi movie in a modern time setting. Well done and interesting entertainment but it did not NEARLY stir the human emotions like Made of Honor. Furthermore, people stopped reading comic about 40 years ago, so I doubt any modern youngsters or young adults have any prior knowledge of who these characters are supposed to be. Robert Downey acts very well but looks like hell. I have no use for critics and I NEVER pay any attention to them when picking a movie. Some movie goers actually have a brain of our own and chose to use it. I can make my own picks, thanks.

19. I have to agree with Andrea - No Dr. whatever they call him - bring on Robert Downey Jr. Hot, Hot, Hot!

20. HAS ANYONE NOTIED THAT AS THE NAMES OF MOVIE "STARS" GET LONGER, THEIR ACTING ABILITY DECLINES. EXAMPLE: REESE WITHERSPOON-SHE OF THE "SICKENING SMILE"; SARH JESSICA PARKER--SHE OF THE MONSTROUS JAW; CATHERINE ZETA JONES-WHO IS SO "WOODEN" SHE MAKES AL GORE SEEM ANIMATED; LEONARDO DI CAPRIO--WHAT A FAG.
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO NAMES LIKE: MEG RYAN; ANN SOUTHERN; CLARK GABLE; MAE WEST; BETTY GRABLE.

21. Hi, Mo,
This chick will never see Made of Honor, but...
Robert Downey, Jr.'s Tony Stark character will attract a large female audience.
Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee says the 1960s character was intentionally given a "broken heart" so that he wouldn't seem so all-powerful and so that readers would feel more sympathy for him.
Lee recalls, "We later learned that, of all our Super Heroes, Iron Man got the most fan mail from females, and I am convinced it's because (a) he was wealthy, and (b) he was glamorous, and (c) ...he had that weak heart and was a tragic figure...." (Iron Man: Beaneath the Armor, by Andy Mangels, 2008, Del Ray Books)
I never read the Iron Man comics, but Downey's portrayal and gorgeous eyes might be enough to wring some fan mail out of me! ;)
I must confess that in the 1960s I secretly loved to read the "What If?" Superman comics where Superman and Lois Lane would get married, have kids, sacrifice themselves for each other, etc. A lot like the fan fiction of today.
Luv ya!

23. Weezer.
If Weezer did the soundtrack to ANY movie, I'd always choose that one hands-down!

24. Hi there Mo!
Your premise of Iron Man vs. Made of Honor comparing it to Obama vs. Clinton is intriguing but I think it would be more politically apropos at this point to say Obama is Iron Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A876vSYhAY) and John McCain is Made of Honor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx6ZguwBmfE).
So, the deeper philosophical question becomes:
What would it take for you to choose John McCain over Barack Obama?
A gas tax holiday?
Permanent Tax Cuts?
Obliteration of Iran?
An SUV for every family?
A repeal of Roe vs. Wade?
A giant border fence around America?
A government bailout of your public investment company?
What would it take for you?
