In the video below we explain the main two strategic errors that the Clinton team made. We also talk about the third reason they lost -- their frame of mind. Find out what their two big mistakes were and how their arrogance cost them this election:
Here is the Time magazine article I referenced in the video above.

16. Robert Okane,
Good post.
I agree that many of that 30% will come to their senses in time for the general election.
How many "snooty Hollywood" types said they would leave the country if Bush was re-elected?
I can only think of one. Alec Baldwin. I don't doubt that there were others. However, we are talkling about women who supported Hillary. I think many of those are "single issue voters." Their issue is gender politics and they will be bitter.
If Obama wins the general election, it won't be because of stingy republicans who won't donate money. It will be due to the failure of the Neo-Con agenda over the course of many years.
But your point about stingy republicans is valid.
Republicans tend to be single issue voters as well. That single issue is, "MONEY." Republicans can't win an election based on money. Republicans and Democrats alike are very concerned with financial issues and the Repuli-Con way has been a disaster.
While the 19 per centers will surely disagree, it is a fact that the majority of Americans realize that the corrupt, Bush-Cheney Junta has led this nation down the wrong path and must be turned around. In that sense, it goes WAY beyond money issues, even for a majority of republicans.
The "real" republicans aren't posting on AOL news blogs or any other blogs (unless it is for entertainment value). The "real" republicans are sitting in their dens, reading the finanacial pages, considering ways to make their money work better and hoping to Christ that Bush and Cheney don't want to do any more than ride out their remaining months and try to fade away.
Who knows? Maybe there will be a populist movement to encourage the mainstream media to focus on some real issues instead of cult of personality issues.

17. "It's going to be one helluva acceptance speech. One that will make his speech at the previous convention seem bland"
------------------------------------------------
It had better be a damned good speech. Obama had better take the gloves off too. This b.s. about Obama being an undercover Muslim has to be dealt with. The whole dialogue between the left and the right has to be re-framed. We all want the best for America, we just disagree on how to make it so.

18. You haven't seen any Republican money being raised yet because, frankly, it wasn't necessary until now. The money will start flowing once Obama has truly secured the nomination. You never know what the Clintons will slink out with next to try and blow him up. Their position in the party is now so tainted, I am not sure they care anymore. If Obama loses in November, they will be blamed for it anyway.
Don't youfind it interesting that Obama's speeches started coving his white grandparents American experience after Pennsylvania? Before that the only mention he made of them was when he tossed his white grandmother under the bus for Reverend Wright, only to be betrayed later for it. Calling her a "typical white woman" will be the hardest thing he will have to overcome with that sector of the Democratic party. They are vast, they are pissed about their perceived slight to Hillary rightly or wrongly, and they are formidable. He may have more trouble pulling them back than he thinks.
Anyone who still believes the Muslim crap about him will probably not change their minds no matter how good a speech he may give. He has much bigger problems from an issues, policy and experience standpoint than that rumor. John McCain does not have the albatross of party unity to hold him back from defining this candidates many weaknesses. Yes, Captain, he has Bush baggage to deal with, but believe me, he is in no way Bush III. That refrain will get old very fast.

20. The contrast between the two candidates (assuming that Hillary is toast) is so stark that I'd be willing to bet that if you held the election today you'd end up with precisely the same results as you would come November. I honestly can't imagine someone sitting on the fence here. What pivotal issue is there that these two have in common that's so strong, so meaningful that, short of some sort of absolutely insane revelation, could cause a voter to tilt one way or the other?
The amount of money and time that's going to be wasted all for naught is just staggering to think about.

I confess to being constantly bemused by the phony concern conservatives show over Obama family matriarchs.

22. Yes, the 30% of us who took offense to his typical white woman comment will be a hard constituency to attract. The threats are already beginning from the party. If you want Rowe VS Wade overturned just vote for McCain will be one of the many threats used to persuade us to vote for Barack. Sorry, this is one of the 30% who will be staying home in November. Barack and his current supporters will have to win this one for him. I cannot in good conscience vote for him. Anyone who calls Bill Clinton a racist after all he did for all minorities does not deserve my support.

Ain't it the truth Cap. But we have to. It's either that or gin up some resume', send it to Cenk and hope he'll give ya job that pays, what?....3 bucks and hour.
But, I'd take it just for the prestige of working for TYT's....ridin around in Big limo's, wearing fancy shoes, eatin cheese burgers and working for the Big Guy.

24. Melissa, if you are truly concerned about; "Roe V. Wade," you should reconsider the idea of sitting this one out.
Just yesterday (or the day before) McCain demonstrated that he knows absolutely nothing about the federal judiciary. He complained about, "activist federal judges" without even realizing that the federal courts have been heavily packed with republican appointments since the 70's. Those, "activist judges" are largely republicans.
Twelve of the last 14 Supreme Court appointments have been made by republican presidents.
Do you really want to aid and abet the shredding of the Constituion by staying home on election day?
Don't you think we need a democrat in the White House to help get some balance back into the federal judiciary? Do you want a Supreme Court composed of 100% radical political conservatives like Scalia and Thomas?
If you were really so interested in feminism, you'd wake up! Do you think that Mc Cain, (the guy who called his wife the "c word" in public) is going to be better for feminist causes than a Democrat?
Hillary has spent most of her campaign trying to be, "one of the guys." Hillary has been downing shots in bars and talking about "OBLITERATING" Iran. She's trying to portray herself as comfortable among the great un-washed Jesus O'Rielly worshipping crowd. Hillary is the status quo and her "strategy" is trying to portray herself as a man of the people. The white people.

26. Hillary Clinton has lost nothing. Obama is no presumptive nominee. Obama does not have the requisite number of delegates for the nomination; he has no presumptive lock on the nomination.
The Democratic nomination process calls for all states to vote, and if the candidates fall short in delegates for the nomination, then the superdelegates must select the best qualified candidate for the presidencing using their independent judgment.
The Democratic nomination process is still in progress and concludes when all of the remaining states have voted and the superdelegates select the best qualified candidate for the presidency using their independent judgement. Sen. Clinton is the best qualified presidential candidate and she must continue fighting for the future of America.
The premature end of the nomination process is a subversion of the Democratic nomination process and will result in Obama's crashing and burning in November and the Democratic Party a train wreck. I will vote for McCain. McCain will be president and it will be four more years of Bush under McCain.

28. I am a 51-year-old white woman (really, I am a mutt with each grandparent descending from a different part of Europe and Argentine parents), I have always been a Democrat and a huge Clinton supporter. Now I am an Obama supporter, who is ready to vote for Hillary if by some miracle she should win the nomination.
As far as I am concern as a Democrat we have two fine candidates, and I am ready to support either of them when the time comes. McCain is NOT my friend and I cannot believe Democrats are whiling to stay away in November. I guess you really do not mind that war after all!
Furthermore, I promised myself that if Hillary ever ran for the presidency I would not only vote for her I would volunteer for her campaign. Once the very long process of this primary began I was thrilled to see people I truly admired seeking the presidency. Among my favorites was Joe Biden (however, I knew he was going to win). The top three candidates as far as I am concern were all incredibly qualified to become our next president. However, at the beginning I wanted that candidate to be Hillary.
As I began to watch the debates both the Republican and the Democratic, I realized that as much as I wanted to cheer for Hillary, I found myself cheering for Obama. Therefore, I started to read, pay close attention to all the candidates.
When I saw what I perceived to be a drastic change in her campaigning tactics, and her negative talking points getting increasingly uglier and more frequent. I decided to write to both campaigns; in fact, I wrote two letters to Hillary’s campaign expressing my concerns regarding negative campaigning and most importantly saving the fight for McCain.
Alternatively, I received a very nice letter back from the Obama campaign; I never got anything from Hillary’s campaign until they began asking for donations. For me that was strike number one against her “CAMPAIGN”. Moreover, what seal the deal for me and really disappointed me far beyond any thing else that has gone on with these primaries, was Hillary’s own words. I quote, “I bring a life time of experience to the White House, John McCain brings a life time of experience, Obama brings a speech”.
Therefore, I wrote my last letter to her “Campaign” expressing my shock, disappointment and dismay. She was no longer that woman I had always admired and respected.
If any Democrat (especially women) want to sit this out or vote for McCain, if Obama wins the nomination, please think what you are doing! This is the time for ALL DEMOCRATS, WOMEN, to UNITE, unless of course you do not mind having the Supreme Court change to send women’s rights back to the dark alley days.
