President George Bush has given up golf in honor of U.S troops in Iraq. During an interview with Politico and Yahoo News, Bush said his decision to give up his favorite sport came after the August 2003 Bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad. The bombing killed Sergio Vieira de Mello, who was the top U.N. official in Iraq.
Bush continued to say, "I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."
Good job Bush. We're proud of you.
Did the preseident think that revealing his "sacrifice" would result in the American people increasing their respect for him? Thousands of troops have given up their lives for the war in Iraq , and thousands more continue to risk their lives in the Middle East. Instead of thinking of ways to END the war, Bush decides giving up golf makes him a respectable and honorable president.

Since you are such an ardent Military Supporter, please explain how 7,500 Soldiers died under eight years of your beloved Slick Willy!!!!!!! Under the first six years of 'W' there have been 8,792 Soldiers killed. Since Slick Willy oversaw no major combat actions, please explain how 7,500 Soldiers died on his watch? And were you complaining to/about your beloved Slicky?

Dear Paul,
You obviously express all your opinions with such authority and knowledge (it is like you are a legend in your own mind), why is it that you do not tell us about the statistics you continue to shove down my throat as well as the throats of other bloggers.
In fact Paul since you clearly seem to be so convince of your intelligence, why do you not explain to the rest of us why it is that you so foolishly continue to insists that Liberals are fascists and that it is the Democratic party the party of racist. Furthermore, since you are in such amour of links perhaps you could try to use them to educate yourself on the ridiculous assumptions you refuse to let go off.
Moreover, have you ever stopped and taken a hard look into your soul (Oh…I am using the term soul in its loosits form possible.) if so what in G*d’s good name do you see, if anything at all?
Lastly, 7,500 dead soldiers or 8,792 dead soldiers without a just cause is criminal regardless who is in the White House. Paul, my point here is if President Clinton would have “LIED” to us about Iraq like “W” did I would condemn him as harshly as I have done with the Decider, the “D” or “R” after the Presidents name would not make a bit of difference to me. However, I wonder if you can say the same and truly be a man of your word.

77. Robert Okane : "Chief" would not be appropriate. My tag refers to having been very involved in long range patrolling in the late 1950's.
Captain Negative : You, Dan Rather and Mary Mapes are absolutely clueless about GWB's military service. I have read the records and, unlike your terrible trio, I have the knowledge and experience to interpret them. As an state veteran's counselor, I have represented 1,100 individuals before the various military review boards. I can read and interpret military records from all five branches of the service not just the Air Force. You, on the other hand, are completely clueless.

I seem to recall not too long ago you referring to one of my remarks, which, you stated that I was wasting my time with jerks like this man. You are now doing precisely the very same thing, which is wasting your precious time with this imbecile who takes pleasure in jerking people and spewing a lot of nonsense.
Do you not find it interesting that he is always coming up with the same arguments, Liberals this, Liberals that, everything he accuses people with a different philosophy of being is exactly what he and all those cut from the same cloth are.
Unfortunately, there are those who are commonly known to object or disregard anything or anyone that they do not understand or those whom are different from them. Furthermore, this unfortunately is known as prejudice or simply being ignorant or afraid of what they do not know. This of course is lack of character or leadership, in other words, all this man (and those like him) knows is how to follow. It is so much easier for people like this to blame everyone else for their shortcomings and their lack of moral campus. To this man you will always be nothing more than a “fascist Liberal”, I think this man is worthy of our pity.
The only weapon a bigot or prejudice person has is to turn things around and make it look like the world is in the wrong. If there is anything a conservative can do better than anyone else, is flip-flop, turn things around and repeat the same thing until the followers (weak characters) believe it to be the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

79. I only wish that Bush and Cheney would make the ultimate sacrifice for our troops and country. If they did that would be the greatest national holiday.

81. When Bush started oil was $32 then the energy czar Cheney took control in his private meetings with the oil companies and now oil is $120+. And you blame the Democrats. Prices and production are manipulated. It's probably both there faults 70% GOP and 30% Dems. For someone to think that one party controls our success or our failure isn't really thinking.

My money is on GWB taking the game back up in, say ... January 2009.
