For at least twenty years conservative hacks have been coming on TV, yelling and screaming with no substance -- and finally Chris Matthews couldn't take it anymore. He just annihilated this right-wing talk show host on national television. Watch it here:
The full seven minute embarrassing interview can be seen here. I have criticized Matthews plenty in the past. I think he's too chummy with power and often buys into Republican talking points without really challenging their core assumptions. But in this one shining moment, he wiped all that way. If he could challenge the assumptions of the right and the left like this night in and night out, then his show would truly be worth watching.

PS -- Small note of caution for Matthews. he can't let this develop into a shtick. What he did great here wasn't asking the same question 28 times; it was challenging the underlying talking point. The point isn't to embarrass people on national TV, the point is to get beyond the talking points and get to the substance of what they are saying.

Chris Matthews bellows over Kevin's responses each time Kevin tries to answer. Every single time. Matthews fails to let him complete a single sentence. Chris Matthews is a hack and you're equally a hack for thinking this is legitimate debate or intelligent dialogue.

But Cenk (as usual) is living in a very isolated, self-inflated world. He thinks there is such a huge difference between Conservatives (who talk loud and have no substance) and Liberals (who apparently never employ any kind of vitriol, hyperbole, or condescension and just happen to have the answers for everything).
This is the first time I've ever seen a Conservative at a loss for words. But if I had a red penny for every time I've heard a Liberal stumble and stammer when their feet were held to the fire...for every time I've heard a Liberal dodge a very straightforward question...I'd be a very, very rich man.
So, as usual, Cenk needs to get off his self-righteous high horse before its his turn. Cenk, you're just more of what you're criticizing here. Another hypocritical blowhard denouncing a fellow blowhard.
You don't dislike James because he shouts. You don't dislike him because he's obnoxious (I mean, look at yourself). You dislike him because you disagree with him and you're relishing the moment because you, like all goofy leftists, take Conservative ideas personally. And why do you take those ideas personally? Because your ideas can't make it in the marketplace. And why can't your ideas make it in the marketplace? Because they are expressions of rank unreality.
