Many Clinton supporters, including Geraldine Ferraro, are now saying that Obama ran a sexist campaign and that Senator Clinton might have lost because of sexism. In the video below, we have their quotes and their charges, and we also discuss whether that idea has any merit:
What do you think? Did Hillary Clinton lose because of sexism? Did her gender help her or hurt her? And was Obama in any way sexist against Clinton?

Of course none of the sexist stuff was directly from Obama. He has the political Left Hacks, like you Cenk,to do his dirty work for him so he can look down his nose at everyone because he wants that image that he is above all that dirty politics. MoveOn and Soros have done all the sexist comments for Obama in the same manner you played a continous campaign against the nomination of Hillary. You have made your News Blog your own personal attack mechine against the nomination of Hillary, but I do not think any of your stupid arguements against Hillary cost her any votes.

2. The SENATOR Hillary Clinton sexism I have seen has all come from women. As far as I can tell, it isn't even a "liberal vs. conservative" issue.
The first form of sexism I see is from women who cannot or will not forgive SENATOR Hillary Clinton for remaining married to Bill, following the humiliation of the Monica Lewinsky matter. Sounds like, "general cattiness" to Captain Negative.
The second, and most prevalent sexism is coming from Hillary's most ardent supporters. We've all seen it. The type described in the video. The type who post here often. The ones who are, frankly, acting like women. (see "general cattiness" above)
They are the ones who simply cannot understand that Hillary lost for a couple of reasons and they were not related to her gender. We all know what those issues are.
Briefly, Hillary's last name is, "Clinton." Unfortunately, to a lot of misguided types, saying that name is like saying, "Commie" to a Dittohead.
Then there is the "fatigue factor." We've had enough of the Clintons *and* the Bush's! Period!
Then there is the fact that Hillary just isn't very likeable. She is polarizing.
And that's just for starters. We haven't even mentioned her crying about a "glass ceiling" allegedly looming above the head of one of the most influential women in America...SENATOR Hillary Clinton.
The people are speaking and they aren't choosing Senator Clinton. Get used to it, SENATOR Clinton supporters. Maybe next time.
Oh, I almost forgot. There's that damned cackle!

3. Cenk-Interesting story I read about the sexist treatment Hillary has gotten the media and Obama. Written by Tom Watson, "The Sexist Media Lynching of Hillary Clinton"
"What kind of Progressive American reader would stand silent, supporting with the cold reserve of ambition the disgracefully sexist, blantantly anti-feminist attack on a well respected woman of the same party, a political foe perhaps, but a national Democrat leader?"
Barack Hussein Obama-so far
Writer goes on to say
"But Obama claims a mightier throne, one forged in liberal ideals of justice and equality and hope. He is the secular messiah of the Democrat Party, ordained by Oprah Winfrey as the chosen one and given to preaching about transcending petty politics. Yet there he was at one the New Hampshire debate, throwing a scornful "compliment" at his rival when asked about Senator Clintons "likability, one of the many sexist code words deployed against her in this race. She's likable enough he smirked, looking downward."
Obama was in the mud from day one having most of the attacks done by his hacks. The portion of the article I wrote pretty well explains how many feel Obama and the media have treated Hillary.

4. Interesting that women would supposedly campaign against Obama in the general election and want McCain in the White House. Keep in mind John McCain's speech several weeks ago where he spoke about appointing 'constructionist' judges (that's GOP code for overturning Roe v. Wade because Republicans are too cowardly to come right out and say that).
It stands to reason that in the next four years there will be a vacancy on the Supreme Court. I guess these same women for Hillary don't mind throwing the Supreme Court completely to the likes of Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia. Guess these women don't mind giving up their reproductive rights. But I guess you have your convictions.

5. The typical Democrat hypocrisy has been on display throughout the campaign. Obama has proven his sexist attitude on two seperate occasions by referring to female reporters as "sweetie," the Clintons and Obama both have injected race on numerous occasions. Of course all of Obama's utterly outrageous comments have been downplayed by the mainstream media. Only FNC has reported fairly, of course Obama is sniveling that FNC is being mean to him, anyone who reports Obama's word accurately is being mean to him.

6. How has Obama been sexist? Seriously, I am not seeing it, and I'm a woman who has personally experienced some pretty nasty sexism, having worked in a video game store with a largely male customer base. I've been abused by a former boyfriend, so I'm definitely pretty cautious around men. I do not doubt that Hillary has experienced sexism during this race, but it's not coming from Obama.
Obama and Clinton have both said some pretty stupid things during this campaign, it's true. I'm not sure how "Sweetie" is now supposedly an anti-female sexist thing to say, especially when you watch the video of it and hear the tone and context in which he was speaking. He was NOT saying it in a condescending tone, not at all.
Oftentimes when I'm at work and someone needs help, but I am already helping someone else, I say something like "I'll be right with you, hon" because it lets them know that you know they're there, and that you are on friendly terms with them. That's what I got from the "Sweetie" video, though I'm sure the man-haters loved reading everything else into that video. Yes, man-haters. Women can be just as sexist as any men can be, unfortunately.

7. This is what happens when you have a party that plays to the victim mentality of the nation's supposedly disenfranchised sub-groups. If the situation were reversed, you'd have Obama supporters crying racism.
If you lose, it's because you're a victim of a hostile opponent or other outside forces. It's never your fault. The cards were stacked against you to begin with.

8. you are soooo out of touch with women you sexist pig - you think the young women of today are not dissatisfied with the fact that they STILL cannot get the same pay for the same work as men?...
and are you really THAT prejudiced against older women and think we ALL are stupid and don't realize it is not the 60's - give me a break
more to the point - you are not even "close to reality" - did you not see OBAMA CALL A FEMALE REPORTER "SWEETIE" LAST WEEK AS HE DISMISSED HER SERIOUS QUESTION ON WHAT HE WOULD DO TO SAVE JOBS AS HE TOURED A CAR FACTORY...
YOU ARE AN ASS - AND MOST OF YOUR COMMENTS ARE COMPLETELY SEXIST - ONLY NOW YOU ONLY PICK ON "OLDER WOMEN" who according to you can't see or think anymore they are SO OLD (being over 50 and all) - IDIOT - GET OFF THE INTERNET
Elisa at 8:10AM on May 20th 2008
9. They're trying to cry sexism because she couldn't garner any sympathy as a woman. The crying bit didn't work out. Not to mention all the feminazis who are behind her solely because she is a woman. It would be the same deal if Obama lost...all the black racists would cry racism. Not a surprise. Just ignore it and give it the attention it deserves...none.
Strados at 8:12AM on May 20th 2008
10. OF COURSE OBAMA WAS SEXIST AGAINST CLINTON. HE IS TOO GOOD TO COME TO KY. HE IS A COCKY JERK, THAT THINKS THAT HE IS GOING TO BE KING. WELL OBAMA I HATE TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE IF YOU GET THE NOD IN A FIXED RACE, IT'S CONGRATULATIONS JOHN MCCAIN.
STAY OUT OF KY. YOU AND YOUR HATE SPEWING WIFE. MICHELLE HAS A THESIS PAPER IN COLLEGE ABOUT HOW MUCH SHE HATES WHITE PEOPLE. MICHELLE IS FAIR GAME IN THIS ELECTION, SAME AS BILL CLINTON, AND CINDY MCCAIN. NO DIFFERENCE. SHE IS NOT A QUEEN.
crazynannan at 8:18AM on May 20th 2008
11. Captain Negative I agree with all your reasons except for the last one. The "cackle" as you put it. I have not listened for it so I can not agree.
That being said, I believe the Clintons are the ultimate masters of getting supporters to believe what they want them to believe. They are the ultimate in salesmanship/saleswomanship/salespersonship, I hope I covered every one so as not to offend.
Unfortunately the reason that will be offered, sold, and finally bought will be the following
""The Sexist Media Lynching of Hillary Clinton"
"What kind of Progressive American reader would stand silent, supporting with the cold reserve of ambition the disgracefully sexist, blantantly anti-feminist attack on a well respected woman of the same party, a political foe perhaps, but a national Democrat leader?"
Once again the "victim" rationalization will triumph. Even if you are unlikeable, you are a "victim" of other people's dislike for you.
It will just go round and round. As long as being a "victim" is the rationalization for one's failure.
Also the line "attack on a well respected woman of the same party, a political foe perhaps,"
This reads ,that to do it to some one on the other side is okay but not within the "family". Seems hypocritical.

12. Let's see...Hillary has been criticized for her hair, clothes, laugh, body parts, and her daughter. Not one word about BO's big ears and ET fingers.
Throughout this campaign she has been asked on numerous occasions to drop out although all 50 states have yet to vote. She wins a big state only to see that state's delegates align behind BO. She wins by a HUGE margin in WVA, only to see that win shoved aside by John Edward's BO endorsement the following day.
BO has a huge electability problem, but the democrat's majority male delegation don't seem to care...anything to keep a female from sitting on their throne.
To understand what has transpired during this election, I highly suggest everyone read the following blog: http:/politicallydrunk.blogspot.com.
Scroll down to the archive file of May 5th to the article "The New American Disenfranchisement - Democrat Elitists Hijack Party"
I will leave the party before November and vote McCain.

13. Ahh come on its not sexism, it's the ultimate desire for the democrats to put a "black man" as they like to remind everyone daily instead of "African American" as the President. Why do they want it so bad? Well I wont say because I'll be oh dont say it "racist" or "repug" blah blah I get it we are just scared that a smart "black man" might win the presidency right? The media and this blog has pathetically appointed Obama as the Mesiah before even considering anything about him. It doesnt matter anymore because this is history right? I cant even begin to imagine the outcome if this man doesnt win the presidency. Bring on the rigged election conspiracy accusations, race riots, and blame whitey..
John at 9:46AM on May 20th 2008
14. This sexist claim is a false claim. Hillary got beat because tried to play herself off as inevitable. She lied about the sniper fire. She played the victim card crying and that doesn't make a woman look strong or qualified to be President. She said, "No Woman is illegal." When all was lost her serrogates played the race card and filed this sexist claim. Face it, she just got challenged and she got beat.

Okay, lulu just do not let the door hit you on the way out.
Boy, I hope it does not take too long for the remainder of the "two year olds" to stomp off and leave the mature people alone to continue on with the work that needs to be done. Lulu, once you have "matured" maybe you may want to return. Always looking for grown-ups to help be part of a team. That's an adult word, you may someday learn about. Until then ,please be careful when you walk off the playground with your ball.
