The title of this post might seem like an exaggeration, but in fact it is literal. Pastor John Hagee endorsed John McCain earlier this year and John McCain says to this day that he is proud of this endorsement. Pastor Hagee believes Hitler was sent to drive the Jews out from under the rocks they were living in and drive them to Israel through mass extermination. Furthermore, God gave the Jews a chance to go to Israel on their own and when they didn't, he sent Hitler to hunt them down.

If I felt you honestly considered this man to be speaking for McCain, I would be a bit more open to your comments. But you know McCain doesn't believe this stuff (and I am not even voting for McCain, so I have no reason to defend him - other than being intellectually honest). There is real cause, however, to ask whether or not Obama holds to some of Wright's theology. There was a major connection between the two.
Why did McCain accept Hagee's endorsement?? Because Hagee is a major evangelical figure and McCain wants those votes. Plain and simple. I doubt McCain agrees with 2% of what Hagee says.
Thing is, you already knew this. So you're just doing what you always do...what most Liberals always do: you're manufacturing baseless arguments and grandstanding. Give me a break, Cenk. I like Alan Colmes and I like Kirsten Powers. Why? As Liberals, they don't pull this kind of crap. You're as bad as Al Franken.

A better comparison of the relationship between McCain and Hagee would be that between Obama and Farrakhan. You could call that a draw. Both relationships are of the "hold your nose" variety.
The Obama/Wright connection is a whole different animal.
If the conventional media thought for a moment that a good case could be made for a similar comparison between Hagee and Wright, they'd be all over it and we'd be hearing about it non-stop.

30. In point of fact, John Hagee does NOT believe that Jews must convert to Christianity in order to be saved. He believes that God's original covenant with the Jews is alive and well and that Jews who practice their religion are automatically saved. This is called "dual covenant" theory (one covenant for Jews, another for everybody else) and his adherence to it renders Hagee quite controversial in some Christian theological circles.
So, Cenk, either you knew this and are lying or you didn't do your research. Ever hear of "google"?
