Barack Obama won the Democratic nomination tonight, but you couldn't tell that if you were listening to Hillary Clinton's speech. I really thought she would have the good sense to know when the fight is over. But her refusal to concede tonight went from determination to derangement. Everybody likes a good tough fighter, but no one likes someone who keeps hitting after the bell has rung. It's ugly.
Watch her speech here (this is the part where she refuses to acknowledge that Obama has won) and then we explain how crazy this decision is:
Then Obama spoke and he was very gracious to her, even though he had already heard that she wouldn't concede. What more does he have to do? He passed the magic number. He has more pledged delegates, super delegates, overall delegates (and more popular votes too, despite Clinton's maniacal and completely unjustifiable claims to the contrary). The race was to get to a majority of the delegates -- and he got there. What is there not to concede?
There is one possible explanation for Hillary's actions tonight, I explain that in the clip below. First you'll see Obama's historic speech (the part where he claims victory) and then hear the possible reason Hillary is still hanging around in this race:
By the way, did you see McCain's speech tonight? Wow, that was embarrassing. It was anemic, lame and lacked even one percent of the energy of Clinton or Obama's speech. Unless some world changing event happens, McCain doesn't stand a chance. Anyone who saw Obama's speech and McCain's speech tonight can see that plain as day.

2. Hillary is taking a cowardly approach. She should have told her cheering audience the truth. She is using the, "I'm waiting to hear from you...." as an excuse to loiter. Hillary is like that Fux Noise Bitch. She's hoping Obama will be whacked. Maybe not.
Before Hillary's speech tonight, I would have been happy to have Hillary for V.P. Now I have to question it. Her failure to conceed just fuels her harshest critics.
Isn't it time we went about the process of replacing the worst pResident ever?
Not that it should influence anything, but we now have, "Vanity Fair" making allegations of philandering against Bill Clinton. Maybe Hillary is hoping that America will find the Clinton's so fascinating that we will want to turn the Presidency into a "reality" program. Maybe something like, "Survivor: Oval Office."

3. Cenk,
Let's go first with Hillary. Remember that Ted Kennedy took the fight all the way to the convention, even though Carter had the nomination. He wanted to shape the platform.
Gary Hart took his fight to the convention in '84, even though he was way behind Mondale. He thought that the delegates would wake up and realize that dull Walter was warmed-over Jimmy Carter, and that they needed a fresh face with charisma and new ideas to take on Ronald Reagan.
Even Ronald Reagan tried to get delegates in 1976 by saying that he would name Pa. Senator Richard Schweiker, a moderate, as his running mate. When uncommitted delegates didn't join the Reagan camp, Reagan tried to get a rule passed at the convention that would have forced Gerald Ford to announce his running mate before the roll call on Wednesday evening. The vote failed on Tuesday, and Reagan had to wait until '80.
Hillary truly believes that she is the more appealing candidate to voters, particularly conservative Democrats, independents, and moderate-to-liberal Republicans.
It seems to me, Cenk, that when party leaders picked nominees, we got better candidates. They thought who was more appealing in November. Now, the voters pick candidates that may be more appealing to the regulars, but not to the average voter in November.
As for John McCain, it's only June. No one is paying attention to McCain. Besides, we've had a number of recent presidents who wouldn't be confused with William Jennings Bryan. Neither George Bush would make captain of a high school debate team. Bill Clinton was incredibly overrated and never stopped talking. Jimmy Carter was sincere, but he wasn't a great speaker. LBJ wasn't a great speaker, and Ford was downright boring. The last three presidents would could speak well were Reagan, Nixon, and JFK.
Besides, if you believe that history repeats itself, and I do, McCain is still going to win. The U.S. has been electing presidents from western or former slave states since WWII, with the exception of JFK. With McCain being from Arizona, he fits the bill. If the Democrats were smart, they would have nominated Richardson (New Mexico) or Edwards (North Carolina) to negate the GOP.

4. Cenk
Wrong again. Cenk is broken clock is right more than you are.
Good for Hillary. Maybe she is waiting for more of Obama's past to come out. Could rumored story about Obama's wife be true? Did Michelle Obama go through a racial tirade along the lines of Pflleger outburst and sexist attack on Hillary that got him dumped by the Catholic Church? Was her little speech where she said she was never proud of the USA contain the bomb that could cause big ripples in Obama's campaign? Does the Rezko verdict play into this because of a potential deal for Rezko to flip on Obama if Rezko is found guilty.
Or is it just a play to be Vice President Nominee as many are thinking. Hillary is over qualified for Vice President and Obama is underqualified for being President. A big problem in the future with a White House with Obama and Bill sharing the Presidency. Bill Clinton is not one who would sit quiet in the White House while Obama installs foot baths in the White House.
Time will tell, but hats off to Hillary for standing up to the sexist attacks and trash talk used against her by the many classless Obama supporters.

5. Why should Hill quit one second before she has to? The nomination was essentially a tie. She won the big states. She finished better. She's the stronger candidate to face McCain. Obama is the one with most of the baggage.
We already know Bill Clinton is a philanderer. Anybody who is shocked by that story has had their head in the sand for a decade or two. And Bill isn't on the ballot. Hillary is.
Barrack Obama is the one who is dangerously naive and inexperienced and thinks foreign policy is about fluffy words, not actions. He is the one who is the radical socialist, with connections to some very scary and incendiary racial demagogues.
He is the one who is willing to talk to despotic, murderous tyrants without pre-condition.
Never before has there been a man so green (forget black) as Barrack Obama to get this close to the Presidency. He's spent two or three years in the US Senate and spent most of that time running for Prez. Really, what has he done? What legislation has he written? What committees has he chaired in the Senate? Zip. Zero. Nada.
Forget experience, or lack thereof. This guy wants it now, and he's willing to jeopardize the present and the future of this nation because it's not really about us, as he keeps saying.
It's about him and his ego. That's obvious. He doesn't need us. We need him. (Or so he thinks.) And we just may get him. God help us.

7. Cenk : Read some history. We have had a political convention system for over two hundred years. Only in the last fifty or so years have clear cut winners emerged from the primary process. The normal procedure has been that the candidate was selected at the convention. Hillary has the right (some would say the obligation) to continue to contest Obama's candidacy until he wins a majority of the delegates in an actual vote at the convention. If Obama falls short of a first vote win, it is a new ball game. The pledged delegates bcome "free agents" and "dark horse" candidates may appear. I would not be suprised to see "boomlets" for Al Gore and John Edwards at the convention if it goes beyond one ballot.

8. Hillary probably should step aside, but I hope she doesn't.
It's too much fun watching the Cenk's of the world rant in frustration over her stubborn refusal give it up so that all eyes can be on the one they're so infatuated with.
I saw all three speeches and didn't think Obama's was particularly different than any one of the 8 trillion other ones of his that you can find on YouTube. Then again, for those like Cenk who choose candidates like they might a prom queen or king, no doubt Obama won the day.
It was also kind of fun watching the talking heads on the news networks come unglued over the mere fact that John McCain would even dare to make a speech on a day that was so clearly (in their minds) Obama's and nobody elses.

11. Here's the beauty part:
No matter how many Hillary-haters and character assassins try to discount or malign Hillary and her "comportment" ("she should do this... she should do that.. she should kiss a$$ exactly like this {demonstration of how to suck up}..." You're WAY more concerned about graciousness and comportment now than you were when Obama sleazed his way out of apologizing to Clinton and all women over his "guest" priest's inexcusably misogynist and racist comments, but that's nothing new)... no matter HOW much you hate HER and think your candidate it the TRUE heir apparent... And no matter how much you think” how DARE a white woman run against a black man?” even though she’s his senior and the better candidate… no matter how many high-gloss, low-class rags try to Kill Bill, no matter ALL that-------
Hillary won about half of all registered Democrats in a record-turnout primary. Even with ALL the Obama sycophants in the press and ALL the nasty Obama racist surrogates trying to slam the Clintons, she ALSo made history as the first woman to go that far. Not that any of the ambitious, alpha-women in the press took note of that … They were too busy chiding her.
She won those votes and there's not a DAMN thing you can do to BULLY her supporters into believing Obama respects or gives a rat's a$$ about them if he continues to disrespect her.
He HAS to win those votes in order to win the election
So just keep whining and being incredibly ungracious, lousy winners and heters, while Hillary gets her wind back in order to CONTINUE to behave more graciously than any of you deserve, and see how far it gets you come November.
It’s not about payback; it’s about PROVING to us that there’s any reason we should believe in or trust Obama.
For the first time in a while I don’t give a damn what any of you drone on and on about because I remembered/realized it's up to US, the SWING voters.
It's great to be a non-racist, pro-human, non-misogynist pro-American Swing Voter!

Obama plan which will oblterate Israel
Here is a preview of what Nephew/Grandson of the Liberator of Auschwitz policy would be with Iran/Israel. It is disturbing and ominous, and being crafter by anti Israel Zbigniew Brezinski and a former NSA Director William Odom. Negotiate with Iran without any preconditions. Play along with the chirade of a civilian Iranian Nuclear Industry. Turn a blind eye to violations. Remove sanctions on Iran. prevent any Israel pre-emptive strike against the reactor, as Israel did against Saddam and stopped his Nuclear Program.
Deride anyone who disagrees as paranoid.
Its Munich all over again.

15. Here's what "Dr. Fixit" thinks of the idea of Hillary on the Obama ticket:
I don't think Obama has any choice. He simply cannot win without the Clintons, he knows it, and they will not let him forget it for one second.
With this dream ticket you get radical marxism, racism of every permutation, sexism, big-government nannyism, environmental extremism, a cornucopia of propaganda. An orgy of degeneracy and decadence. Unimaginable wealth and privilege. Secrecy, conspiracy, and perversion of government and academic institutions to serve the personal ambitions of the ruling elites.
There is nothing to match the greed, ambition, hunger for power, and Messianic charisma found in the combination of Obama and the Clintons since Antony, Cleopatra, and Caesar in ancient Rome.
This may be the combination that drives us to the abyss that awaits any culture that loses its bearings as deeply as America has. With the cult of personality, the politics of identity, and the rank amateurism of Obama, we will have our first American Idol Presidency.
(Beautiful.)
