When you look at the speeches of John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama last night, one things becomes clear. There is one speech which lacked all energy, excitement and interest -- and that clearly was John McCain's.
We did a mashup of their speeches from Tuesday night, we picked some of McCain's best moments to be fair to him and it still looks pretty miserable by comparison:

1. In fairness, McCain was not in front of an emotionally charged audience, as Hillary and Obama were.
Most of the McCain video was of him saying complimentary things about Obama and Hillary in front of what I assume is a republican audience.
It's a known fact that republicans are duller than any other segment of the population.
And we all know that the Obama-phobes and Hillary die-hards criticize Obama's eloquence as though it is something he should be ashamed of.
But, DAMN!!!! McCain is boring.

2. The job position entails a lot more than just the ability to stand in front of an audience of adoring sycophants and wax poetic.
Of course acknowledging that would mean Cenk might have to actually do something more than visit Youtube a couple of times a day.

3. CENK - are you really saying john mccain isn't good enough because the little speech clip you picked yourself isn't full of cheering people? there are plenty of clips of him speaking in front of an energetic crowd - how is it "fair to him" not to pick that kind of clip? you are a quack.
and so what if obama can pack a stadium?? he's still not qualified to be commander-in-chief, so who cares!
and, as always, why is this news!??

Public speaking or persons qualifications-which is more important for someone who aspires to be President. Judgement would be another important quality for a Presidential candidate. As the days pass we see more and more of what Obama is made of. This newcomer on the political scene is a good speaker but woefully inexperienced.
While public speaking turns you on Cenk, all of these historic moments Obama is giving us, really means little in determining if Obama will be a good President. Hitler and JFK were great speakers, had crowds excited as you get now when Obama speaks, but beware not to judge Obama on his speaking ability.
Look at Obama's friends, associates, and political chums, and you can get a better view of what Obama is and what kind of judgement Obama has in reading people and things. The list is long, but I will highlight the more popular names. Rev's Wright, Sharpton, Jackson, Father Pfleger, and Rev Farrahkan; Felon associates Rezko, Soros, and Auchi; then we could go through Obama's campaign advisors starting with McPeak and so, many who are anti Israel and so on.
Public speaking by Tony Rezko could really be interesting if he has anything on Obama and is willing to make a deal to flip on Obama for a lighter sentence.
Hillary do not give up.

5. In McCain's defense...last I checked speaking ability wasn't a prerequisite to run for office. I've never heard of somebody not being elected because they're a poor public speaker. Especially in the light of the past eight years.

6. Hey there Big Guy,
John McCa....John McCai...that Senator from Arizona who is the GOP's nominee for president is a disgrace to the GOP we have done nothing but wet nurse this LOSER his entire political career we should have dumped his butt years ago HOW IN THE HECK DID HE GET THE GOP NOMINATION HE'S AN EMBARASSMENT TO THE GOP and no Republican in his right mind can mention his name in the same book with such great Republicans as Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43....
What a mess. THe GOP looks like the Democrats. With McCai...McCai...as our nominee why not get John Kerry, Al Gore, Hillary, Obama's wife, Joe Biden or Charlie Rangles as running mate. He fit's right in with this crowd!
What a mess.

7. I'm a very big Obama supporter and while I find him to be very eloquent and inspiring, I have not been terribly impressed with him as a speaker.
The two best political speeches that I have ever heard were Ted Kennedy's speech before the 1980 Democratic convention and Mario Cuomo's key note address before the 1984 Democratic convention. Both were powerful pieces of oratory.

8. "Look at Obama's friends, associates and political chums, and you get a better view of what Obama is and what kind of judgement Obama has..."
In 1991 the Senate Ethics Committee found that John McCain exhibited "bad judgement" in meeting with Charles Keating of Lincoln Savings and Loan. Keating who would later be convicted and sent to prison, sought the help of McCain and four other senators in an attempt to thwart federal regulators from investigating Keatings unsavory business practices.
If you want to talk about bad judgement, wheel John McCain out as exhibit A.

9. I just read an article on truthout.com it stated that Bush/Cheney are trying to get a secret document signed by the Iraqi government to keep our troops in Iraq, build 50 new permenant basis at it goes on and on. I can only say that Bush/Cheney if this story is true is just another lie so whats one more lie. Oh I know it just means there will be no end to this war and the next president can do nothing about it. Why are the young turks not bringing this up.
Diane at 11:19AM on Jun 5th 2008
10. Randy :The Keating Five were five senators - four Democrats and one Republican.
All four Democrats were convicted while the Democrat controlled Senate Ethics Committee could only charge McCain with "bad judgement."
In the opinion of many, McCain was only made part of the "Keating Five" because the Democrats needed a "token" Republican to balance the real crooks - the four Democratic Senators.

Two positions on the same issue in two days. Wow, what a change!!!!!!!

12. Good reply longwalker. In all fairness Democrat Senator John Glenn was deemed to be minimally involved as well.
Investigations revealed that at the behest of Charles Keating; Democrat Senators Alan Cranston, Dennis DeConcini, and Donald Riegle Jr.'s conduct constituted substantial interference with the FHLBB's enforcement efforts. In exchange, the Democrat Senators reportedly received close to $1.3 million in campaign contributions.

14. Three different speeches were impossible to compare. Obviously, these three individuals have different styles and different personalities, and no doubt, each of them wants to do right by Americans.
In my personal opinion, I thought John McCain’s speech lacked inspiration and I thought it was a bit whinny. It also appeared that the small crowd there was waiting for their cues to applaud the Senator. It was for all-intense and purposes boring.
Senator Clinton’s speech, while eloquent and powerful, I was disappointed that she did not concede when she should have.
Alternatively, Senator Obama’s speech in my opinion, it spoke for itself. In deed, there was no comparison.
