Some legislator does months or years of work to create a bill, and then get backers. All being a "sponsor" means is that you agree with a bill someone else wrote. All it takes is a telephone call..

23. some of the comments on this blog are ridiculous - listing off the names of the bills obama has sponsored, who cares!! he's a senator - he'll probably sponsor SOMETHING...but what legislation has he actually written, what policies has he generated, what committees has he spearheaded that give him anywhere NEAR the level (and DECADES) of experience that qualifies mccain to be the most powerful man on earth?!?! people are so easily taken in by his charisma and rhetoric, and i'll agree that he's one of the best orators we've seen in a long time...but that doesn't take the place of actual substance! The Democrat Primary 2008 is a time of gloating, unshackled sexism of the ugliest kind. A moment in which things like the formation of a Hillary-bashing political action group "Citizens United Not Timid," a "South Park" eposide featuring a nuclear weapon hidden in Hillary's vagina, and Internet Sales of a Hillary nutcracker with shark-like teeth between her legs, passed largely with out mainstream media notice.
I would say however that it's less about sexism and more about the "Permission to Hate" that liberals reserve for themselves.. The reality is that Black Men who run afoul of the political liberal elites are treated with open racism, Jews with open antisemitism, and womaen with open sexism.
Having declared themselves the defenders of political correctness, like all moral leaders, liberals give themselves permission to hypocritically violate their own moral strictures. The flip side of self-rightcousness is license. It's why the greatest sexual purists turn out to be the greatest sexual perverts, religious leaders turn out to be atheists in all but name and those so staunchly in favor of everyone's rights, care about noe's rights at all and have nothing but contempt for the people they protect.
Many woman with shock are now realizing just how disposable theye are to the very same people they thought were in the business of protecting theoir rights, who turn out to have the deepest hatred and contempt for them.
But that shouldn't come as any surprise. In fact it's really nothing new. Race has always trumped gender for liberals and on the liberal totem pole, women rank somewhere above the rank of gays, but well below most of the racial minorities, excxept Jews and Asians who are somewhere near the bottom.

those list of accomplishments must have been when he was in the Illinios legistlature mostly. I would like to know what he has done in the US Senate as far as initiating legislation, not just co-sponsoring it. To be fair, he has only been in the US Senate for 4 years, so one must look at what he has done in Illinios.
in fairness to bttybb, However, I do believe his ties to those vitrolic preachers is very troublesome indeed. As far as his wife goes, I pray that she did not go on that rant. Very unfortunate. Hillary was asked that question and she said she would obliterate Iran. Hillary was blasted for taking such a drastic action. Was Hillary's response wrong? No one has yet to say what Obama's response would be to an Iranian Nuclear attack on Israel. Best Obama has said is he would keep all options on the table, including military options. So is that where a the military option would stay, on the table, in the event of a Iranian Nuclear attack on Israel?

This is not an unreasonable question since Iran keeps saying it will "obliterate" Israel. Yet, still no answers to that question. Can't shut the Obamassiah fans up, but cannot get a reply on this one.

I listened to what he said about our energy crisis, how we needed to fix it.

His words "We need to develop renewable energy sources, we need to drive more fuel efficient cars, we need to become less dependent on foreign oil"! The audience went wild!

Well Jr., you can match wits with "who's smarter than a 5th grader" with your dynamic assessment of America's largest immediate economic problem.

Oil importation is our number one issue & if any of you "deep thinkers" are convinced that Obama's liberal partisan association is going to allow him to tackle our number one problem you're just a damned fool. The liberals are too "stupid proud" to admit they've made the largest mistake in our history not allowing full scale energy production for our beast of an economy. We don't even have clean air today to show for it!

We say in the south you can't get blood out of a turnip, Obama WON'T be allowed to extract necessary energy because of his shackled misled ideology & is the unwilling variable to a relatively easy point of resolution... Someone has got to be practical here.
