You'd think that Bottle Rockets song about people substituting gasoline for kerosene in heaters would have educated the public about gas safety, but that band never got as famous as they should have. So, here's a less melodic PSA: don't keep gas in your home!
According to SouthCoastToday.com, a Massachusetts couple trying to avoid paying $4/gallon kept 45 gallons of gasoline in jugs at their apartment. But their thriftiness had a high cost: the fumes caused a fire that could have burned down their whole apartment complex if it hadn't been for the quick work of the fire department.

2. How dumb can one be? Although trying to save
money is the right thing to do. We just came
back from a trip down to LA and on the way
home stopped for gas at Chevron; who I have been
boycotting due to high pricing;but needed gas
badly and Chevron was the only one available on
that section of I-5. They were charging $5 for
a gallon of regular. We put $10 in and went
up the road for a few miles and paid $4.35. I
wish everyone would really boycott Chevron.

3. The only way to bring down gas prices is to STOP driving, Do like the French or Germans do a nation wide strike and no one works.

4. We have to learn how to walk again, use our bikes, mopeds, scooters, motorcycles or whatever we can to do our errands and save cars for only the bigger jobs. Most towns have public transport that doesn't cost much. Get used to using mass transit. In my 40,000 person city, it costs .75 for seniors.
