First, there was the press fascination with Michelle and Barack Obama's fist bump before Tuesday night's victory speech (what is all the fuss about - people have been doing this in America for a long time -- it is neither a scary new concept or even anything that is particularly cool). But now, as usual, Fox News has taken it over the top.
If I described how they characterized this fist bump, you wouldn't believe it, so watch it for yourself (an MSNBC report on how bewildering this new concept is comes first and then the insane Fox description):
What's great about Fox now is that they've lost all subtlety, so we don't have to try to convince anyone that they are a conservative propaganda outfit anymore. It's as clear as anything can possibly be. The slogan "fair and balanced" has become a joke everyone gets. It has entered the lexicon as an ironic statement meant to convey the opposite of what is really happening.
Now that Fox News has become full-blown parody of itself, the next question is -- how can anyone hire people who work on Fox as legitimate "news" reporters anywhere else? Whatever it is that they do over there clearly isn't journalism, so why in the world would anyone hire these people as legitimate journalists again?

46. Clif,
Brilliant post!

47. Dear longwarlker,
On the surface, I must agree with you. Where is the evidence indeed? How is it possible that they have been able to do this for as long as they have and still have done it without being cut? That Rove certainly earned his paycheck However, you cannot tell me that you are actually that naïve, can you?
I am the first to admit that if there is anything this administration, Karl Rove and others like him have done an outstanding dirty job while seemingly keeping their hands clean. Evoking Executive privilege at every turn has also been a strategy that has worked for them up to now. Having a Republican majority for the better part of this administration was an excellent way to continue with their status quo. Furthermore, for all intense and purpose the Republicans on the hill still hold a lot of power, with a very narrow loss and Representatives on the other side dropping like flies from illness (no excuse I am still very angry with my representatives, however a strong point to consider).
Every dog has its day, and we may just see Bush and his pals get just what he or they deserve, if they found guilty. In way, one or another we have known for a long time these people have lied thru their teeth. I appreciate you do not agree, and naturally that is your right.
Alternatively, there has to come a time when some people will have to face the fact that too many people have come forward, written books, memos have surfaced, ex-employees have spoken out. Are we to believe that all these individuals are the liars and not Bush and his Administration and all those of the “inner circle”?

48. Bob Johnson : I have been politically active since 1948. First as a young Democrat, then as an Republican. U. S. Attorneys have been replaced in almost every administration not only at the begining of the presidential term but, as found necessary, during that term. These replacements were caused because the U. S. Attorneys were not responsive to the political needs of the party in power. You, sir, could play the Claude Raines part in Casablanca "I am shocked, shocked that this place permits gambling."

Mike, this is a much repeated righty talking
point,and historically maybe true.
The problem with that is they were going on
old intelligence.
The newer intelligence that GWB had did not support
the old,but that only made W work harder to "propel
the propaganda", his words not mine.
Seems he was in meeting with Tony Blair and
the head of MI6 when he voiced his concerns
about how to continue to lie to America
about Saddam's WMD's.
Seems Tony has so much remorse, that he'
immersed himself in his religion.

50. Robert, why the ad hominems? That's what I get for trying to be civil to a mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, dittohead.
I don't expect anyone to be impeached. There isn't enough time. There isn't much political will to do so at this time. For the record, it is possible to impeach even after dick & bush slither out. Not likely, but possible.
Your attempts to divert are totally lame. I'm talking about sending the bastards to prison. It isn't necessary to impeach to send them to prison.
The only way out will be via presidential pardons. Like George Bush Sr., I'm betting "insiders" will be pardoned for things they have yet to be indicted for. George the first, in his final hours, pardonded the FOURTEEN people from his administration who were ABOUT TO BE indicted by Lawrence Walsh, Speical Counsel appointed to investigate Iran/Contra.
longwalker, I refuse to argue with a guy who will get his ass kicked in a debate and end with, "It doesn't pass my smell test." Or, "I'm a lawyer and..."
You still haven't come through on the, "I reviewed Bush's military records....." BULLSHIT.
Davidg is so desperate that he keeps referring to Larry Sinclair. The sleaze-bag who can't even find a lawyer sleazy enough to represent him.
Fux Noise has indeed become a parody of itself. As for the "popularity" of Fux Noise....
"American Idol" and "Survivor" and "Big Brother" are all popular. That doesn't make them intelligent programming.

52. Longwalker,
Political needs of the party!
Does this include the need to use our justice
system to persue bogus prosecutions to destroy
the opposition?
Patrick Fitzgerald was put on that list by
By Denny Hastert and Bob Kjellander in an
attempt to stifle the investigation of the
corrupt bi-partisan combine running Illinois.
I'm not sure why they ultimately let him
keep the job, other than he was doing such a
good job in the public's eyes that they
couldn't fire him for incompetency.
Why Mr.Fitzgerald didn't go after Cheney
in the Plame case,we may never know.

I have a better question: ask yourself why barack obama didn't buy into that crap, and for that matter why I didn't.
I know exactly when and why I was against the war and who influenced me to believe as I did: Tommy Franks, Colin Powell and Norman Schwartzkopf from months before the invasion: 'I see that the only people in favor of this war are those who have never had a shot fired at them in anger'.
I opposed the war because the MILITARY opposed the war and the cheerleader and the guy who thought we'd be singing kumbayah with the liberated iraqis forgot why we didn't take out Hussein during Desert Storm.
A lot of right wingers with recall problems like their addled canditate who can't remember what his positions were last week, last month or last year.

55. 1-2 million people watch faux noiz each day.
With 285 million people in America, this is not
what anyone can call blockbuster numbers.
Australian fascist Rupert Murdoch hired former repub headman Roger Ailes to run his little
propaganda machine.
He also propped it up to the tune of $500million
spent before earning dollar one.
Most broadcasters have to,you know, make money.

fop's news is little league. they don't even dent the majors. Anyway, Olbermann outdrew oreilly all week. Did anyone see the explosion of the foxfart reporter when he got gutted by bill moyers?
I've heard that ailes may be fired, and that fop's news may go democrat in the coming year - their sponsors never crack their nut.
THAT oughta be worth a terrorist fist jab and a malkination on the rug of your choice!

Captain, you are forgetting one important point.
To send anyone to prison requires a crimminal trial. Then you have to prove your case "beyond a resonable doubt" and that means not just what some posters here "think" but what can be proven to the memebers of a jury. Now if some others wish to chime in go ahead. But remember what you would like to or want to happen does not necessarily come to pass. Once again the burden of proof is "beyond a reasonable doubt".

58. Bob,
Good point about FOX's viewer numbers. High for cable, but comparatively paltry in terms of the U.S. population and against numbers generated by network news broadcasts (you know, the "liberal" media).
The interesting thing is that there is probably a good number of FOX's viewers who are progressives and liberals who watch to hear what the other side is saying.

Of course trials are necessary for criminal convictions. I can see that you've matched third graders in your knowledge of civics.
