First, there was the press fascination with Michelle and Barack Obama's fist bump before Tuesday night's victory speech (what is all the fuss about - people have been doing this in America for a long time -- it is neither a scary new concept or even anything that is particularly cool). But now, as usual, Fox News has taken it over the top.
If I described how they characterized this fist bump, you wouldn't believe it, so watch it for yourself (an MSNBC report on how bewildering this new concept is comes first and then the insane Fox description):
What's great about Fox now is that they've lost all subtlety, so we don't have to try to convince anyone that they are a conservative propaganda outfit anymore. It's as clear as anything can possibly be. The slogan "fair and balanced" has become a joke everyone gets. It has entered the lexicon as an ironic statement meant to convey the opposite of what is really happening.
Now that Fox News has become full-blown parody of itself, the next question is -- how can anyone hire people who work on Fox as legitimate "news" reporters anywhere else? Whatever it is that they do over there clearly isn't journalism, so why in the world would anyone hire these people as legitimate journalists again?

61. This is for you, Davidg. It is a link to the "smoking gun" piece on Larry Sinclair. You can even look at a copy of the court filing. It is a "pro se" filing.
Larry Sinclair and his story are so lame and obvious that he can't find an attorney willing to risk being censured or disbarred by touching it.
Hell, his story is so lame that even Fux Noise won't be embarrassed by Larry Sinclair.
That doesn' stop Davidg though.

To send a person to jail on criminal charges you need a trial and the presentation of evidence and the defendents will have lawyers who will cross examine people and examine the evidence. Then the jury will decide if one is guilty and goes to jail or not.. I know you are a Gum Shoe Private Eye Investigator, without a gun I hope, but I thought you may have picked up a few things over the years. Guess not. You are still a dick head who at best can catch some poor guy cheating on his lady.
The cowardly Democrats have done nothing as far as impeachment for 1 1/2 yrs.
The hearings that you are gleeful about will not result in sending Bush and Company off to jail any more that an Impeachment of the same crew. It will take about the same amount of time to Impeach as will be needed to hold these hearings.
These hearing are for political reasons during an election year so a bunch of cowardly Democrat Congressman will blow off steam and attack Bush, but nothing else will be accomplished. Once the hearings are complete, it would be up to the Justice Department to bring criminal charges. The Justice Department already has investigated the CIA leak crap and found nothing. McClellan in his book and on two tv interviews I saw, stated Bush never lied no did he say Bush lied. The torture junk has been looked at and looked at and nothing criminal will come out of it that would not come out at an Impeachment.
There is nothing the Justice Dept will act on from these hearing that would also be acted on if there were an Impeachment.
No time available for an Impeachment is a lame excuse for Congressional Democrats not to Impeach, better yet, a stupid excuse for protecting a bunch of cowards who call themselves Democrats.
The Democrats in Congress are playing politics with these hearing when they should be doing the responsible thing and impeaching Bush and company.
Let the cards fall where they may.
CN stick to finding evidence on a cheating husband and leave the criminal investigations to the professional criminal investigators who know how to investigate criminal matters and prosecute them breaking the law.

64. Robert Okane, thanks for the continual plugs, but I don't solicit business on AOL newsblogs.
I understand that you are frustrated with your own career, but I hear good things about you. Some say you are on the "fast track" to becoming assistant manager of the night shift at Burger King.
I don't know why you keep talking about impeachment as though you are educating me on the subject.
I don't know why you and M-whatever want to argue the semantics of criminal convictions. Of course, trial isn't always necessary for a criminal conviction. In MOST cases, a plea bargain is reached.
But you can take your jailhouse lawyering skills somewhere else.
Even you 'tards know that Congress does not indict.
The FOURTEEN Iran/Contra conspirators that Bush Sr. pardoded hadn't been impeached. They were facing criminal indictment.
I shouldn't have to explain these things, even to republicans.
Today, Scott McClellan announced that he will accept the invitation to testify (UNDER OATH and subject to perjury) before Congress on June 20, at 10:00 AM.
Should be interesting. Another nail in the coffin of the DISGRACED bush-cheney Junta.

66. Fox news is and has always been pathetic. Obama will lose to McCain because the Republicans will smear Obama's race, but more often than that, his name and religion which he says is Christian, but the Republicans will hang the Muslim label on him and it will stick with the folks in rural areas. The Democrats need someone who is ex-military to run as VP if they have any hope of Obama winning, and McCain should pick Condi Rice as a running mate.
Steve Hill at 6:27PM on Jun 10th 2008
67. Captain, you are forgetting one important point.
To send anyone to prison requires a crimminal trial. Then you have to prove your case "beyond a resonable doubt" and that means not just what some posters here "think" but what can be proven to the memebers of a jury.
xxxx
duh. all that exists right now. That's what trials are for and there's plenty to bind a number of them over already and more to come.
In fact, I can't think of anything exculpatory at all, at this point. Their only defense is there isn't enough circumstantial evidence to convict, and that again is what trials are for. I believe otherwise.
Some of the crimes that could be contemplated carry capital sentences as well. This wasn't a slightly skewed administration, it has been arguably criminal in conception from stolen and admittedly caged elections and criminal in execution.
This isn't like any other American administration in history for many reasons. It wouldn't surprise me at all if there were some convictions of members of this executive branch. I hope it comes to pass as a warning to the would be McCarthy's, abramoffs, bushes and cheneys that manage to game democracy to their advantage and the detriment of our nation and its security.

68. I hate Obama, but this is absolutely ridiculous and I just don't understand what the media is trying to uncover here other then they are total morons and we cannot trust them for viable news anymore!
Drmetalman at 7:33PM on Jun 10th 2008
69. First let me say I wouldn't believe ANY "description" MSNBC puts out for anything. They should have had a FOX video available, so if it's true why didn't they play it? Second I no longer trust ANY news show or news person in print or on video "describing" anything unless they back it up via another video. (If MSNBC showed a Fox video, my apologies. I just can't stand watching MSNBC's rantings...)
Second, you're so easily set off it's like watching a wild unbalanced person drooling and obsessing over Fox News--or any other news that doesn't believe what you do.
I don't like to watch "rantings" from any news outlet or person. Just report it--without ranting--and show the proof. Then I can make my own informed decision.

70. One question.
Will the possible future impeachment proceedings be a fact finding mission or a Starr chamber court proceeding similar to the McCarthy hearings?

This is only an observation on my part; however, based on how you have chosen to describe Cenk, I would have to say that Fox would hire Cenk.
If he chooses subjects only those who share his point of view and if he edits the blogs and articles and cheery picks what will be shown, then I must say he is the perfect candidate to be hired by Fox. After all this is right up their method of reporting the “news”, or releasing the White House talking points of the day. When things were going extremely bad in Iraq and we had big casualties the Fox-Farts felt is was news worthy to discuss Anna Nicole Smith, for example. Now, they will try to drill into their viewers that Senator Obama and his wife have a secret handshake or bump that translates into “terrorists”. This is so disrespectful and insulting to the intelligence of their viewers. Oh well that’s what they get for watching Fox.

73. IMPEACH GEORGE BUSH FOR ILLEGITIMATE WAR!!!
McCain's promise to continue waging war in Iraq until we "win" is
certainly called into question by these revelations by former White
House Press Secretary Scott McClellan. The Bush administration
actively deceived the American people, Congress, the U.N., and
individuals within Bush's admin.such as Colin Powell. To
continue squandering the scarce financial resources of the U.S. in
order to "save face" is utter stupidity.
The Iraq War has driven the U.S. into a recession which Warren
Buffet says will be very long and deep. Our grandchildren
will be taxed to pay-off the huge federal deficit created by Bush with
his war. And the people of Iraq received better treatment than
Americans caught in Hurricane Katrina. The U.S. was dropping "meals
ready to eat" and bottled water to the people of Iraq at the same
time Katrina victims were left starving, and dying from dehydration,
in New Orleans.
Bush should be impeached for his wreckless disregard for the
well-being of the American people!!!

74. Clearly, ED Hill was kidding about the "terrorist fist bump". And those who will use the tiniest pretext to prove what they already think they know about Fox clearly demonstrate that they hate the free market, freedom of speech and the idea of airing competing views in a debate format.
It is the liberals who are the true censors. These are the folks who want to use the power of the government to shut down talk-radio and stations like Fox which give the viewing public what they want - discussion of issues from different perspectives.
These angry, petulant scrooges, running around trying to jam their one-sided view of the world down everybody's throats are as un-American as they can be. They should mind their own business and stop messing with the free market.

oh, right, like when mussolini said the only true freedom was to surrender all to the state.
Yes, I loathe the 'free market' because without regulation it's the homeboy shopping center for billionaires without citizenship.
You hindbrains who think libertarianism is a form of government are the quislings responsible for the dismantling of our country.
Just how does your philosophy supposed to differ from that of Aleister Crowley, anyway? I don't see a lot of difference.
Speaking of Crowley and satanism, I notice your republicanist elephant now wears inverted pentagrams instead of stars. Are you trying some subtle hints of some kind, like code or something?
