First, there was the press fascination with Michelle and Barack Obama's fist bump before Tuesday night's victory speech (what is all the fuss about - people have been doing this in America for a long time -- it is neither a scary new concept or even anything that is particularly cool). But now, as usual, Fox News has taken it over the top.
If I described how they characterized this fist bump, you wouldn't believe it, so watch it for yourself (an MSNBC report on how bewildering this new concept is comes first and then the insane Fox description):
What's great about Fox now is that they've lost all subtlety, so we don't have to try to convince anyone that they are a conservative propaganda outfit anymore. It's as clear as anything can possibly be. The slogan "fair and balanced" has become a joke everyone gets. It has entered the lexicon as an ironic statement meant to convey the opposite of what is really happening.
Now that Fox News has become full-blown parody of itself, the next question is -- how can anyone hire people who work on Fox as legitimate "news" reporters anywhere else? Whatever it is that they do over there clearly isn't journalism, so why in the world would anyone hire these people as legitimate journalists again?

76. Dave, can you give us an example to back up your paranoid drivel? I am referring, of course, to your contention that "liberals" are trying to use the government to shut down Fux Noise.
No? I didn't think so.
Dave wrote... "These are the folks who want to use the power of the government to shut down talk-radio and stations like Fox which give the viewing public what they want - discussion of issues from different perspectives.

77. Typical Cenk story, cut and paste setup, then when Fox says they will be right back to explain, Cenk cuts the video and then presumes to tell us what would transpire and what would happen, all in his own mind.
In reply to the leftist who, in attempting to denigrate Fox, says a network has to make a profit to broadcast, Air Amerika proves this to be total hogwash! Soros Supported Socialism funds or did the loser network Cenk ostensibly "works" for.
For you whiners who keep thinking that impeaching President Bush is the way to go, wasn't that the rallying cry of the '06 Democrats who ran for election? Nah, they might have to answer too many questions about their own roles in any impeachable offenses. Not that facts would get in the way, but their testimony would be under oath as well.
For democrat justice, go no further than the "Scooter" Libby case. Despite knowledge that Libby was not the first nor the primary leaker of Plame's supposed undercover status, Libby was charged with "outing" Plame. He was never tried on those charges, but on supposedly related charges which eventually turned into lying to Congress on subjects that had nothing to do with the original charge. Richard Armitage, a Clinton administration holdover, was proved to be the first to leak Plame's name to Novak, but was he ever charged as Libby was? No, instead he was patted on the head like Lassie and given a treat.
Then we come to Pardons given by presidents. Bush Sr. pardoned members of the Iran/Contra Affair? Who did WJB Clinton pardon? No one person who acted in the better interests of this country, but a sorry bunch of big donor...uh high profile criminals like Marc Rich whose wife made the donation to Bill...I mean plea, my bad.
You leftist liberals whine about $4.00/gal gas, but you forget it was your brethren in the environmental movement who pushed for no drilling off the California Coast, the Gulf of Mexico, ANWAR, and innummerable other places, restricted the use of coal for electric generation and try to put the blame on President Bush, when in fact gas prices didn't really start going up until after the '06 elections. Coincidence? I think not. I never hear any Democrat, especially Obama, come up with a viable plan to produce our own oil until we can go nuclear for electricity. There damn sure won't be wind turbines off Martha's Vineyard to block the Kennedy and other blue-blood liberals views will there?
As for Scott McClellen, he can be under oath or under a truck, the ungrateful fat boy cannot testify to things that happened when he was not in the room. Who needs a press secretary around when you are discussing top secret agendas and events? Little Scotties job was to go out and tell the press what he was told to tell them, not report on what had happened. Of course, all he utters will be revered by the left since it reinforces their world view of the Bush Administration that "robbed" them twice of the presidency, another fallacy like the tooth fairy.
Electing Obama has nothing to do with his color. It's the content of his character (Rezko, Wright) his experience (next to nothing), and his judgement (Bill Aikers, Farrakhan, etc.) and more we have yet to discover. Colin Powell could have been President after Bush I but chose not to run, so color has been a non-starter since then. Electing a woman however, seems to be a very different story in the inclusive (D) party doesn't it?
The media gave Obama a free ride and contine to do so. They circled Hillary like vultures, waiting for a morsel, then dutifully reported it for three days. if she had had a pastor like the Rev. Jerimiah Wright, the waters would have been red. Obama without his prepared speeches cannot make an intelligible statement, but give him the teleprompter and he can sermonize with any tv evangelist. Of course, hope and challenge are his two big words, the rest are dust in the wind.
Obama never mentions the African side of his family, his father, aunts, uncles, half-siblings or the two cousins in dubious poositions in Kenya, but his "white" relatives fought in WWII, liberating Aushwitz and Berkenau, leaving out that those camps were liberated by the Russians. Oh, was his mother Russian on her uncle's mothers father? How about those 57 states? "Let's remember those who gave their lives who are with us in the audience" and you go after Bush when your own messiah blows chunks.
You liberals live in a dream world where you have the solutions to every problem. 6.7 trillion on the War on Poverty and there is still poverty? Have an enemy, just talk to him, they'll see how good a person you are...I bet they will sharpen the axe just so you feel less pain. Since there's no more draft, voting age goes to 21 unless you are in the military. Sounds fair huh?
Oh, in closing re. $4.00/gal of gasoline, OPEC has not increased its output since 1973 after the Gulf War. You have a contrived shortage led by the Saudis and Hamas is looking at Mecca, so let the Sauds ask us for help..it will cost them a lot of oil just like Iraq should be selling oil to rebuild its infrastructure. Social Security has until 2012 before it implodes, demitards ignore that, raise taxes on the rich...Obama 104 million or Hillary, I forget. Dianne Feinstein, Oprah, Warren Buffet, George Soros? Bull, you'll never touch their money. Buffett just put his billions into a trust, so the tax man gets none of it, but he predicts a recession. Maybe y'all should watch Fox, you could learn something, distasteful as it may be to you.

78. Barrack Obama is already talking about designating certain companies as "Patriotic" (and others as non-Patriotic) once he gets into power. An alliance between the state and the private sector. Gosh, I'm pretty sure that's one of the characteristics of fascism.
And Maxine Waters let the cat out of the bag the other day when she inadvertently let it slip out that she wanted to nationalize the oil companies.
Yeah, that'll work, The folks that brought you the Katrina debacle running the oil companies. And don't kid yourself. The government isn't going to suddenly run like a swiss watch just because there's a liberal (Obama) in the exec office.
Just admit it guys: You hate Fox News because you want your news spoon-fed by the Dan Rathers and Tom Brokaws of the world. And c'mon Cap, you haven't heard of the Fairness Doctrine? Your friends in Congress will be bringing it back as soon as they have the votes to pass it. They can't stand the thought of having anybody with a microphone "Question Authority".
Dave at 2:36AM on Jun 11th 2008
79. Yes, Dave. I remember when the, "Fairness Doctrine" was the law of the land.
I didn't know that Maxine Waters was talking about nationalizing the oil companies. I've been thinking about it for a while. I think the oil companies should pay for the Iraq "war." They benefit!
That was another bush-cheney LIE. They said the "war" would be paid for with oil revenue.
You and Okane and the rest of your pack are becoming increasingly paranoid.
Who says anybody "hates" Fux Noise? Fux Noise really has become a parody of itself. Fux Noise has become a national joke. Fux Noise is even an international joke.
Fux Noise toadies like you are becoming a national joke too. Really, Dave, it is becoming increasingly difficult to take you seriously.

Please try to respond regarding my post without your immature comments.
What I meant was that you must prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Something I think you are not interested in. I am not defending anyone, however, I am not joining your lynch mob mentality.
By the way, what will you do with with yourself after Jan 20, 2009 ? Funny thing about hate, once the target of your hate goes away what will you do to fill the void caused by the target departure.?

81. don't know why you and M-whatever want to argue the semantics of criminal convictions. Of course, trial isn't always necessary for a criminal conviction. In MOST cases, a plea bargain is reached.
Yo, captain, what will you do when a person refuses a plea bargain ?
M2D5 at 8:06AM on Jun 11th 2008
82. Oh, by the way Captain Negative;
In case you forgot "semantics" is what the law is all about.
Not your rabid desire for retribution or whatever it is that drives you.
M2D5 at 8:07AM on Jun 11th 2008
83. M-whatever,
Your condescending remarks are just irritating.
Here it is....
As far as I am concerned, if Congress decides to impeach dick and or governor bush, that would be just peachy with me.
Are you with me so far?
I would be even happier if Congress decided to pressure the Junta to appoint a, "Special Counsel" to investigate and, if appropriate, PROSECUTE dick & bush and other Junta officials. I am certain that the process would take too long to complete while dick & bush are still in office.
But if that happened, I am confident that bush would PARDON his henchmen/henchwomen ( prior to their indictments)as he slithers out of office. That's EXACTLY what Daddy-Bush did when he slithered out of office.
Stop trying to lecture me with your grade school knowledge of legal matters.
Tell ya what, M-whatever....
I just Googled, "legal dictionary." Came up with over three million hits in 0.9 seconds. If I have any questions on legal matters, I'll go there first. If I can't find something like your elementary definition of "reasonable doubt," I will turn to you.
Captain Negative at 10:40AM on Jun 11th 2008

85. of "reasonable doubt,"
My definition does not come from surfing the internet to get whatever flavor of opinion matches your own. My definition comes what was stated by a judge, as I was charged as a member of a jury just before returning to the jury room to reach a verdict.
It was short and to the point as to what is "reasonable". I would repeat it however, you would probably not get the point evanthough the exmaple was so simple that anyone else would understand, even if you took away his/her ISP.

86. "What's great about Fox now is that they've lost all subtlety, so we don't have to try to convince anyone that they are a conservative propaganda outfit anymore."
CENK -- do you even know what subtlety is? everyone can read through you just by your headlines. when did that report call the pound a 'terrorist fist jab'? you're misleading and kind of a jerk.
wtf at 11:48AM on Jun 11th 2008
87. What really happened is that the bush-cheney Junta, with the help of a compliant media, made it, "UNPATRIOTIC" to even QUESTION the Junta in the wake of the neocon, "Pearl Harbor" we know as "9-11."
The country was so "terrified" that they gave the Junta a blank check and a pass to do whatever they wanted, based on FEAR and a new McCarthyism.
governor bush set the tone with, "If you aren't with us, you're against us!"
Congress-people on both sides of the political aisle (with damn few exceptions)were afraid to do anything more than march in lock-step with the Junta.

88. The poles say that statisticly the left wing voters are, on the average, more educated than the right wing voters. A BIG THANKS to Fox News for proving it!
Bob Wilkinson at 1:36PM on Jun 11th 2008
89. The former natalie holloway channel called it a terrorist fist jab. If it weren't really really important to them to identify with it, I doubt they'd have aired it.
Are you saying that fop's news is somehow not journalistic?
I think many of their viewers probably believe that there should be constitutional amendments against terrorist fist jabs and not wearing a flag pin if you're black or even half black on a sunny day unless you're a republicanist.
Clif Kuplen at 1:35PM on Jun 11th 2008
90. M-whatever, we all appreciate you for having done your civic duty by serving on a jury.
I've spent my adult life working in the legal system. I've testified and otherwise participated in numerous civil and criminal proceedings.
Thanks again for your wisdom, insight and public sevice.
