First, there was the press fascination with Michelle and Barack Obama's fist bump before Tuesday night's victory speech (what is all the fuss about - people have been doing this in America for a long time -- it is neither a scary new concept or even anything that is particularly cool). But now, as usual, Fox News has taken it over the top.
If I described how they characterized this fist bump, you wouldn't believe it, so watch it for yourself (an MSNBC report on how bewildering this new concept is comes first and then the insane Fox description):
What's great about Fox now is that they've lost all subtlety, so we don't have to try to convince anyone that they are a conservative propaganda outfit anymore. It's as clear as anything can possibly be. The slogan "fair and balanced" has become a joke everyone gets. It has entered the lexicon as an ironic statement meant to convey the opposite of what is really happening.
Now that Fox News has become full-blown parody of itself, the next question is -- how can anyone hire people who work on Fox as legitimate "news" reporters anywhere else? Whatever it is that they do over there clearly isn't journalism, so why in the world would anyone hire these people as legitimate journalists again?

91. Dear David Rosenberg #85,
It really is not that difficult to decipher, after all it is the Republicans method of operating. If they deny their wrong doings and lies long, enough with a lot of fervent, many poor uneducated citizens and those who continue to choose living with their heads in the sand will believe all of their revolting lies.
Of course, they fed the Congress and the Senate crappy lies. Of course, they cherry picked the information that they wanted to share and kept all of us in the dark with vital and factual information. Now that little by little information that contradicts their despicably lies is coming out, they have to cover their collective asses. We know this to be true, they know this to be true, hell, and the world knows this to be true. Deny it long enough and it will go away, is the good old Conservative way.
The new attack and the new “talking points’ will also be to blame Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Congress for the outrages gas prices we are now subjected to pay for at the pump. Did these thugs not promise us that the Iraq war would pay for itself, and that our reward would be low gasoline prices? I may be as confused as you are David, but I do not think Nancy Pelosi told us this outrages lies, in fact she was not even in charge of Congress at that time. She will just get the blame for it!
For the moment, I am just looking forward to seeing Scotty testify under oath.
Furthermore, you may be on a lot of medication, however, you are not confused about Fox calling a fist bump a terrorist gesture, it would not surprise me if the got their orders from the Dick man himself.

Kind of a left-handed compliment.
I meant the "reasonable" part was from being on a jury.
The other part about "semantics" is from some studying of business law. I had a great professor whose doctorate was in law and he also still practiced law, mainly civil rights and descrimination cases. Seldom do you find someone who can teach a subject that can make that subject interesting and fun. Yes even LAW can be interesting depending on who is showing you its ins and outs and how it really works.

Dear SwayingWillow,
The main reason why some media outlets go after Fox is that it is incredibly easy to disprove their misleading stories. Repeatedly Keith Olbermann has shown videos of journalist from Fox, which would make your hair stand up. Actually, this video was shown on MSNBC by more than one show.
Alternatively, there is no question that MSMBC is a much more “Liberal” network than Fox. MSNBC and a few of their Journalist make no bones about going after Fox every time Fox either fabricates news or simply perform as the Administrations mouthpiece. Moreover, every time they do this, they have videos to back up their stories.
Furthermore, it is not hard to become wild when you have “professionals” trying to make the public think that one of our Senators is a Terrorist or one of them says out loud while on the air, “Osama/Obama oh if we can just kill them both”.
Unfortunately, we no longer have a media that is not controlled by big corporations, however, I can assure you, and one good thing about MSMBC is that they also do not make any bones about going after “liberals” or “Democrats” when it is appropriate to do so. As a Democrat, I appreciate it when they do this because I do not want anyone in Government getting away with lies. I can appreciate how many on these blogs hate Democrats, Liberals and individuals such as Keith Olbermann, however, if there is something that I admire about him is how he does not let anyone get away with BS, unlike the ABC’s, CBS and NBC’s of today.
Fox Network would never go after conservatives in the manner, which Keith Olbermann goes after liberals, regardless of his biases.
If you ever choose to watch MSNBC, I would suggest you try it for more than a few days. This is how I came to my own opinions about Bill O’Reilly and Fox and Friends. I took the time to watch these shows for a few weeks. I had to have first hand information before I would comment on anything regarding the Fox Network.

It is sort of funny to hear someone with positive comments regarding MSNBC and or Keith Obermann. Considering some of the postings over the last couple of months. The amount of negative postings were quite large. Most were not coming from conservatives or republicans as best I could tell. It seemed mainly from those on the left and democrats. It was almost as if Rupert Murdoch had taken over all the cable news outlets by the way many posters slammed MSNBC, and most of their talking heads. It may have been that the posters' candidate was not put in an overly favorable light.
But is was funny to read complaints about MSNBC that far surpassed stuff that is usually posted about Fox new. I think that's when I realized that the candidate's backers were coming slightly unhinged.

95. What I want to know is, who's pocket are Fox execs in?
Because there is no other excuse for their deliberate, incendiary, hillbilly ignorance. I haven't watched them in years, and I wouldn't encourage my kids to go there for a picture on how the world is working, either. They have a right to be irresponsible idiots, but I have control over whether I have to accept it. I have choices, and my first one daily is to choose another avenue for my news than Fox.

96. Dear M2D5,
I think you are correct with your assessments regarding some of the supporters for one of the candidates. However, if you watch any of the shows on MSNBC with any regularity you could actually see the comment evolve with each dirty ploy that came out of the candidate whose bloggers were so passionate about.
Moreover, there were no surprises coming from the likes of the Glenn Becks of this world (actually, I am stunt that he does not work at Fox), Chris Matthews in my opinion had always been a brown nose up until the right seemed to appeared as public enemy number 1, now he plays “Hardball”.
Alternatively, I am being totally bias when it concerns Keith Olbermann, because I am a fan and I do watch his show. However, what I do appreciate from him, even when he is bit over-the-top, he always has prove to back up his stories. I wonder do politicians and others who go on television with made up stories, not realize that we have them on video?
As for the bloggers complaining about “their” candidate, I just wonder how many of those were honest and how many were from the other side trying their best to stir up trouble and attempt to create doubts.

97. OBAMA NOT READY FOR GENERAL ELECTION! TRAILS McCAIN IN KEY STATES! CLINTON/OBAMA 2008!
Let's not forget that Barack Obama does not yet have the nomination.
The Democratic super-delegates were created to react to the
"electability" of the nominee who has amassed the most delegates from
Democratic primaries, but who has not won a sufficient number of
delegates to take the nomination. This was done to prevent general
election debacles like McGovern and Dukakis!
I do not think that Obama has "weathered" the controversy over the
Rev. Wright. It has momentarily subsided as a decisive issue in
public opinion polls. But we have all seen the polls turn on a dime.
The emergence of the Rev. Wright on THREE publicly televised
appearances repeating the offensive remarks which dominated the 30
second videos on TV have raised serious doubts about Obama's veracity
and judgement. This is a man who was very influential over Obama for
20 years. Does it make any sense that the radical views of a man such
as Wright, who had the "audacity" to re-televise and renew his
controversial remarks, could remain "hidden and unknown" to Obama for
20 years? Come on ... We all know that Obama is extremely intelligent.
Clinton was right to challenge his explanations: "While it is true
that we cannot choose our relatives, we can and do choose our
spiritual advisors." Of course, Hillary was slammed by the media for
her accurate remarks. Obama's "resignation" from Trinity Church after
a second preacher's remarks is a case of "too little too late."
And Obama's remarks about blue collar workers clinging to "guns and
religion" ensured decisive victories for Hillary Clinton in West
Virginia and Kentucky. Can the Democrats prevail without the
traditional blue collar support? Obama's own religious affiliations
make it unlikely that blue collar workers, for whom religion is
integral to their community, social and personal lives, will come to
feel that he can adequately represent their interests. This voting
block will determine the victor is in the "swing" states which are
necessary for a Democratic victory. If Hillary ceased her primary
campaign tomorrow, would those alienated blue collar voters turn out
in record numbers for Obama? Or would they just stay at home rather
than vote, or wait to vote for McCain in the general election?
Hillary can certainly not be held responsible for Obama's regrettable
remarks. The media picked-up on the comments, repeated them over and
over, and then seemed surprised when voters' opinions are affected by
those comments. As a well-seasoned politician, of course Hillary
identified blue collar alienation and worked to win their support.
But it was Obama's remarks, and the media's reporting practices,
which created the alienation in the first place.
Why would voters vote for McCain over Obama despite their huge
differences in policies regarding the Iraq War, health care and the
economy? Because McCain is a genuine American hero ... because McCain
is known to be a person who frequently refused to follow the
Republican party line and often reached across party lines ... and
because it is unlikely that McCain will have the muscle to get
objectionable legislation through a likely Democratically-controlled
Congress. And, most importantly, Clinton and McCain are well-known
entities whose values, ideals, political histories, and
short-comings have been a part of the political landscape with which
Americans are familiar, and Obama is not.
At the beginning of this primary election campaign, no one
anticipated that caucuses with the participation of a very small
number of voters (i.e., many in solidly "red" states) could become so
important to the outcome of the primaries. Part of the reasoning
behind having the candidates agree not to campaign in FL or MI was to
"force" then to change their primary dates. However, that didn't
happen. In caucus states, groups of several hundred voters were
"out-shouted" by enthusiastic Obama campaign workers, and are being
used to "represent" hundreds of thousands of votes.
Why should Hillary discontinue her historic campaign? Her campaign
(as Obama's) is registering record numbers of new voters. She's
winning in the "swing" states where the outcome of the election will
be determined. The polls show Obama losing to McCain in FL, WV, and
OH. Clinton is ahead of McCain in polls in those three crucial
"swing" states. Obama may be competitive in PA, but Clinton's lead
over McCain in polls there is much stronger. And Clinton is
competitive in KY and AR. Obama has a real problem with a
significant part of the traditional Democratic Party base --- women,
seniors, blue collar workers and Jews. And, She has the strongest
appeal to voters who also find things to like about McCain, but who
are alientated from Obama.
CLINTON CAN DEFEAT McCAIN IN NOVEMBER! OBAMA LACKS SUFFICIENT ELECTORAL VOTES! HILLARY CLINTON 2008!

99. It's unbelievable that so much can be made of what we in Barbados (and perhaps in other islands of the West Indies) call a "knock" and not a fist bump. Many of us, especially under 40's greet each other this way. And if you think of it, it's more hygienic than a handshake.
"Terrorist Fist Jab" my eye! What else will Fox come up with? Goog grief, does ANYONE take them seriously anymore?
