2. Is that all ya got Jim?

3. Unless Cenk is running for President and I missed the announcement, Post #1 is the lamest I've seen in a long time.
I think one of the things that bothers the wingnuts most is that Obama is poised. For all the absurdities, he never loses his equanimity.
General Clark has that same quality. He inspires confidence.
I want the poised guy to answer the red phone at 3:00 AM - not the guy who is whacked out on chlorazapate.

4. As usual I can't quite grasp Cenk's logic.
Wesley Clark to me would be one of Obama's biggest contradictions to his claim of opposing the Iraqi war vote.
I remember Clark taking great pride in his evaluation of the invasion as a CNN military strategic analyst.
It's understood seeking the title of commander in chief & having served no military service whatsoever someone like Clark might act as chief advisor in matters over Obama's head. Obama's resume' just doesn't add up to the title he's in search of.
Rest assured, if he made the mistake of choosing Clark as his VP, another conflict of interest will be exposed as have many others...

5. I worked directly for Wesley Clark.
He is a phony, totally political perfumed prince, only motivated by his own ego, and his personal ambition.
He didn't support his troops, lied through his teeth, and was destined by most around him. He was, however, excellent at sucking up and shinning his own stars.
He was a rotten soldier, and hasn't gotten better as a talking head.
The American people deserve better, much better.

6. Back for a quick stop at the Err America Wasteland... Looks like nothing's changed- Stank's still firmly affixed to Obama's leg and the haters are lamely redirecting their venom towards McCain. As for Wesley Clark? Considering his failure and removal from command in Kosovo, followed by his conversion to lockstep marcher for the surrender caucus, I'd say he's a perfect partner for Obama-he's no less wrong on any of the issues. But why not just put a uniform on Obama and tell the media that HE's also a retired General-might do the trick just as well...

7. Sure, have Clark as Obama's VP. Clark, best known for his role in bombing Yugoslavia from 17,000ft, commanding no ground combat at all and with an ego bigger than a B-52 would be fitting.
Clark also fits right into the McCain mold since we still have troops in Bosnia and Kosovo just like McCain said we would have to maintain troops in Iraq. Of course McCain didn't say they would be combat troops fighting insurgents, just that they would be in-country.
Cenk thinks that Obama would pick Clark so us "white folks" would feel better knowing that Clark would be in charge if something "happened" to Obama during his yet to be confirmed presidency. Of course, Clark didn't do so well on his initial foray into politics (unless you count him appearing on talk shows bashing Bush), but he will gladly bend over for Obama anyway.
Clark is also remembered for bombing the Chinese embassy, issueing orders to stop the Russians from coming onto prisevena (sp) airport and having the British Commander tell him "I'm not going to start WWIII for you!)
Read up on Clark in Wikipedia...you'll find that despite his intelligence, he has little common sense and shows it. Maybe CN served under Clark?

8. Gen Clark is a good man and a good American, but he doesn't have the experience to run for office. He would make a good Sec. of Defense though.

9. 8. "Gen Clark is a good man and a good American, but he doesn't have the experience to run for office. He would make a good Sec. of Defense though."
Yeah, he could be the top watch dog, for the "don't ask, don't tell" policy

10. He is a phony, totally political perfumed prince, only motivated by his own ego, and his personal ambition.
xxxx
but he was your boss.
He has never been called an ass kissing little chickenshit by his boss. I can think of a certain four star general who has, though, and he has wriggled his way into the executive branch. Any general before him was fired for trying to make policy.
That said, Jim Webb would be a good military choice since he came over from the reagan administration and addresses fools in plain language much like the Admiral referenced above.
I'd guess he has a great bullshit detector and ain't afraid to whup it out, same as the nominee.
Clif Kuplen at 6:34PM on Jun 12th 2008
11. Hey Jim! Do you think #5 Gary sounds bitter?
BOB JOHNSON at 6:44PM on Jun 12th 2008
12. One thing Jim Webb and Gen. Clark have in common is their pure, unvarnished arrogance. And Gen. Clark was a sock puppet when he ran for office last. On a number of occasions, when questioned during the campaign, he pulled out a cell phone and asked an adviser, possibly Bill Clinton, "Can I answer that question?"
Either one of these Big Liberals- if elected, and combined with Obama's frightening inexperience - would help take us over the cliff with one foot clomped all the way down on the gas pedal. Well, at least America will go down in a blaze of glory. (I feel better.)
Dave at 7:16PM on Jun 12th 2008
13. I suppose Cenk is entitled to his opinion as we all are, however, Cenk are you not getting ahead of yourself? Senator Obama has not picked a running mate and he has made it clear that it will be a while before he does. In fact, neither candidate has. What’s with the rush for the Senator to pick a V.P?
Patty at 7:21PM on Jun 12th 2008
14. WESELEY CLARK? WASN'T HE THE PILOT WHO SHOT DOWN "AIR AMERICA" RADIO???
POLITICAL SPIT at 7:31PM on Jun 12th 2008
15. Gen. Clark adds nothing to the ticket but his rank. He's in the running to be CIA chief, but Clark hasn't done enough as a Democrat to place such a burden on him like VP. Obama is change, but for the base to support this ticket, Obama needs someone rock solid as a Democrat. Believe it or not, Obama could actually lose this election if he starts to think "It's all about him!" Obama's support at best is "Soft" and there's nothing he can do to make it stronger. His VP will be the glue for the party in spite of what the pundits tell you. Dick Cheney was the glue for Bush. Clark is no Dick Cheney. He hasn't done anything or won anything. Our troops are still in Bosnia and that argues to keep the troops in Iraq.
