Well I'm back from my vacation! Where in the world was I? Pictures to come. But first...
Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm) is as funny when she's not cursing as when she is. And as you'll see in this interview, she's a true romantic.

1. Aw Mo,
Ah, Susie Essman; I just loved her in her July 13, 2007 appearance on the British television comedy "8 Out of Ten Cats."
I hope you dropped a few hints about going on "The View." Susie is very good friends with Joy Behar. I've tried to reach Joy myself, on your behalf of course, but she is harder to get ahold of than Larry David.
Too bad you couldn't get Susie and Judith Bernstein together in the same room.
Anyway, I have to ask the question: The old, blind lady--she had a dog, right?

2. I actually saw a blind woman with her guide dog pick up the dog's poop on the side of the street. I was tempted to help, but she totally had it covered. It was kind of cool.

3. Great to have you back Mo!
Susie reminds me of my older sister....and I love her in Curb Your Enthusiasm as "Susie" when she's chewing out Larry...it's my cheesecake.
great interview!...any story behind your rental being named Nixon?

5.
My dearest Mo,
I picked up your mail for you while you were gone. The Ped Egg people keep sending you fliers.
I am not a pet owner but HOW CUTE WAS NIXON!!!

6. Mo you should adopt Nixon. I think you'd make a great "dog person". Owning a pet is very rewarding.

7. Mo- What a cute little dog Nixon is! You two make a great pair. Is he a Miniature Pinscher? Or maybe a Doberman puppy? (Forgive me, I'm more of a cat person). Does this mean you are looking to upgrade your iFido? I have never heard of renting a dog--did you have to fill him up and record the miles you walked before returning him?

8. Aw Mo,
Okay, so I'll admit, Nixon stole the show.
BUT, he was not a crook.

9. I like Sumo, quite an adorable little pup. As is Susie Essman. Although I can only imagine the trials and tribulations it takes to keep a dog in Manhattan. Nonetheless, welcome back Mr. Rocca. It's been awhile.
And somebody come see Tony awarding winning "In the Heights" with me! I really need to get tickets to it. Can't believe I wasted so much money on Young Frankenstein last year. What a flop.

10.
Welcome back, Mr. Rocca...
I think you would make an excellent small dog person. Your feet were extremely *white*, though - did you have socks on under your flop-flop sandals? Do you have circulation issues?
I would also like to see you work w/ exotic birds.
Given that my parrot pledges allegiance to you daily, it's fairly appropriate.

11. S.L.,
I'm not sure what you regard as "exotic?"
But, I know Mr. Rocca has dealt with the Class "Aves" on occasion:

12. funny piece. but you're kidding, right? they don't really have a dog rental service, do they?
yes, it is real! i just looked at their website (saw Nixon there). this is absolutely disgusting. true, at the core of it, it is a foster care program for dogs, which is a nice alternative to euthanasia. but what is wrong with people that they have to have it marketed this way, as if dogs are merely a commodity? and someone is making a handsome profit on top of it all. yuck.

13. Aw Mo,
I think the Dog Rental thing is a very responsible course of action if you have never been a pet owner before.
Too many people spend a fortune on a fashionable breed only to find they didn't want the headaches and demands that comes along with caring for a pet. But, once you drive it off the lot...
And if the company is making a profit?...my friend gave me two kittens FOR FREE a year ago. After over $600.00 worth of vet bills for checkups and shots and that operation, not to mention how expensive cat food and litter is--well, let's just say I was a bit naive.
I'll bet the fish tank is the most regretted pet acquisition of all time.

14. Although I find this dog rental business a little devious, I must agree with Giza. It could probably give potential pet owners a chance to see what taking care of a real life pooch is really like.
Otherwise you're stuck with something you don't want. Which brings me to the issue of red ear slider turtles, popular pets sold illegally to tourists on Canal Street in the Chinatown district of Manhattan. While cute and fun sized, these baby turtles grow into massive creatures about the length and width of a plate.
Of course, I had to buy some but they live happily in their little tank with all the required things a turtle needs.
So please, save the turtles. Don't buy them for your kids.

15. We don't usually get a "try out" period with human children so why should we with other living creatures? Whatever happened to responsibility and commitment?
