Every time a big championship game is played, I wonder what it would be like to watch it with a person not involved but very personally invested in the outcome. When Lakers head coach Phil Jackson won his 9th NBA Title as a head coach in 2002, tying legendary coach Red Auerbach's number of titles, I wondered what Auerbach was saying and thinking as the man he openly criticized as a head coach was accomplishing what he had sole possession of.
When Peyton Manning watched the Super Bowl this past season, what thoughts did he have about his conference rival Patriots going against his younger brother's Giants? Sure, he gives glowing answers to the media when they ask him about the respect he has for the guys representing
Now that former Lakers star and avid trash talker Shaquille O'Neal has voiced a few of his thoughts about Kobe Bryant's recent NBA Finals loss at the hands of the Boston Celtics, I can take one person off my "I Wonder What He Was Saying" list.
A video surfaced at the beginning of the week showing Shaq in a
"Once again it's time to get braggadocios, the tall human being and that's right, Shaq-a-tocios, check out my lyrical slam slam, watch me flip flam flam, I re-frack the crim-clanks, I biggity bitch the bam bam"
aren't exactly lyrically killin 'em in the streets.
As he ripped into

You can disagree with the insensitive timing; only a week after Kobe suffered the devastating loss in his MVP season, disagree with the vulgar words, which everyone should just calm down and finally get used to, but you can't fight the fact that this has rebuilt the excitement NBA fans have to see these two rival teammates go up against each other again next year. The season just ended and I'm already looking forward to November just to see how this will play out on the court. We have the never ending antics of Shaq to thank for that; people love him when he's talking for their side, but hate him as soon as he's against them. Just ask Lakers fans, that's some effective trash talking.
And I'll admit it, I had Shaq's album back in '93. The truth shall set me free!

1. Clearly, this is Shaq acting like a dingbat. And his rationalizing comments about how this is only "freestyle" rapping are dubious at best. in addition, the man also seemed to forget that he's also an officer of the law and that this kind of undignified behavior is not particularly becoming for someone with a badge. Shaq should apologize personally to Kobe and then proceed to act like an adult. Memo to the Big Fella: Either be a respectable, responsible adult or a rapping buffoon. You can't be both.

2. Where to start...
1) Paul should have been MVP, you have a player that raised his teammates ability to play better. Kobe had a new team brought in and they did not play better because of him. If Kobe had improved his defensive play, he may have had an additional ring.
2) Shaq and his crappy rap, who cares. And Jayer you actually bought Shaqs disc? Now that is funny.

3. JefFlyingV, what are you talking about. I think you didnt watch the nba finals coz you're not aware how kobe defended Pierce, that actually seal the win for them. WTF are you trying to claim that CP3 must have won the MVP instead of Kobe? Get real man. I think youre just pretending to be a basketball guru where in fact youre nothing but an idiot caring for nothing. get lost.

4. Mike - I'm just not sure Jeff said anything wildly controversial here, except for maybe a slight clarification on the Lakers mostly just bringing in Paou G to help Kobe out.
And by the way, nice trade, Chris Wallace. You got a pack of gum and some Cheetos in return for the highly-sought-after big guy? Great. That'll sure help those Grizzle Bears. (Building for the future.)

5. Jayar is a very cool name.

6. Mike, why do you think the Celtics won the series? A brilliant basketball fan like you should realize Kobe is a great shooter, but you can't count on him to defend. Kobe wet the bed.

Jeff, dude, I like you and all, but you are way off target here.
Kobe has been an all defensive player throughout his career. It's what makes him the best. He plays both ends of the floor.
The Lakers lost because of the Celtics Defense. It's what made them so good this year. They had the number one defense in the NBA. Defense always wins championships.
When the Lakers get Bynum back next year, they will improve on their 57-25 record, and most likely be back in the finals.
Stop Kobe hating. The man is the best in the world, no matter how shitty his character might be.

8. Thomas, maybe I am off base, but if you put Lebron in Kobes place, the Lakers win. Next year will be a new chapter.

9. As Don Imus would say- "There ya go..."
P.S. The better TEAM won. As is said so frequently, there is no "I" in team, and no TEAM in Kobe.

10. Another disgusting liberal decision today.
The death penalty for child rapists is cruel and unusual. Another example of why we need McCain. Lets get rid of this liberal court which has perverted America for years.
Instead of getting tougher on these vile pieces of filth we just stick them in jail at our expense to receive their degrees, watch tv, run up enormous medical bills to pay for their drangement.
But yet they sure will cry for Jose fucking Padilla. And to think, Osama makes these guys look conservative by comparison.
Oh, and one more thing, this Javar is a loser. I thought Cenk was worthless. "We should calm down and get used to his lyrics." Affirmative action is alive and well on the aol. Atleast this time he didnt quote that bastian of goodness within the black community, Whitney Houston, with a "hell to the naw" like the last article of his I read.
Move his worthless ass back over to the black voices section where the readership actually enjoys that nonsense.

11. Oh, excuse me, among all the crickets chirping in here i lost my concentration, it is Jayar.
Typical Cenk. Yesterday he probably had more posts than he has ever had, and to follow it up...Jayar. Cenk, totally brutal but absolutely not unexpected.

WHAT liberal court? I oppose the death penalty for what I think is a very conservative reason.
I don't want to grant government any more leeway than I have to to fuck up shit it can't fix.
End of story.
