39. MO,
Please correct this. The YFZ Compound is in WestTexas., not East Texas.
And yes, it does make a difference.

40. Where are the men? What do they wear? I picture a trucker hat with a replica penis emblazoned on it with the words "I heart my religion" beneath.
Someone, somewhere, find pictures of the men for all the world to see!

41. Marsha,
You are right. Those photos are hard to come by.
I did manage to find this one video of the cult leader though. Hope this helps.

42. Awwww....Steve Martin is not a polygamist! I did find some photos of the polygamist men, though. One held a book up covering his face and the others wore dark pants with light colored dress shirts that could fit nearly any era. All had unusual names. Old men and young women pictured together seem to conjur up images of something that is, well, "unsavory" no matter the clothing style...

44. Aw come on! You're not ALL idiots are you?
It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter....
You're all bickering about stoopid fashion while Mr. Al Gore is Melting the Ozone Layer with Green Houses and Carbon Offsets! If we don't wake up soon, gas will be $8.50/gal and the price of corn will make bread cost more than electricity! You don't want to drive by candlelight and grow your own milk do you?!!!

"Aw come on! You're not ALL idiots are you?"
That is entirely subjective.
"If we don't wake up soon, gas will be $8.50/gal and the price of corn will make bread cost more than electricity! You don't want to drive by candlelight and grow your own milk do you?!!! "
I have been a long-time advocate of a return to "village" style living, wherein each immediate community has a butcher, a baker, & (even!) a candlestick-maker... Everything w/in bicycle distance @ least.
15 years ago, peeps laughed @ me.
Now many are looking to rent space on Main Street, to sell artisan breads.
Turns out, Yesterday's "Tree-huggers" might just be the folks that have spent decades trying to figger our way out of this particular pickle.
Driving by MOONlight is pretty romantic, & the idea of growing my own milk doesn't really put me off, so much.
We don't drink milk in our house, so we have something to barter w/.
In the interest of thread topic: I refuse to trade my milk 4 1 of those dresses.
There IS a line in the sand....
