The Republicans did an internal accounting to see what they were doing wrong in Congressional races (because they got mauled in the 2006 elections and the special election since). The results are amusing. We explain them in the short video below:

1. Good stuff.
Remember, republicans, when somone says, "george bush," your response should be, "Who?"

2.
lol. memo to republicans, empathise with the voters and run away from the national party, great strategy to win!!!!

3. I was listening to Bill Press this morning commenting on what I'd noticed too. They're busting their hump grasping at anything to try to portray the race as close.
They're pretty much stuck with four months of nothing if they can't create a profit making controversy and they're really sucking at it.
I heard something that I really loved today on the radio. You'll never get the libertarian media to cover something like this.
To show their support, a lot of young voters have adapted the middle name Hussein, so you'll see letters from Kathleen Hussein O'Malley's and Blaine Hussein Coltrane, etc.
I really love that! Someone should print a button that just says 'who's sane?'

4. Unfortunately, while we share a little chuckle here, dick & bush aren't even hiding the fact that the next phase of the neoconservative plan is about to get underway.
Those malevolent bastards (dick & bush)don't even bother to lie. They acknowledge that our own best intelligence estimates show that Iran has abandonded their nuclear weapons program.
It was all written down in 2000. You can read it right here on Al Gore's Internet. Google, "PNAC"
According to the report here on AOL, Iran is in the process of digging 320,000 graves for war dead.

5. Once again instead of trying to bring the country together, we are trying to drive a wedge between us. This could lead to a true split of this country.

6. Yeah, it's just chuckles everywhere as the Dems laugh their way to $5 a gallon gas, up from $2.15 a gallon when they took over Congress in 2006. Lots of trucking companies going under. That'll help food price. Many Americans have no idea how they'll heat their house this winter. The stock market just dropped 400 points. Ho Ho Ho and Ha Ha Ha.
And tell me Chuck Schumer, Pat Leahy and Dick Durbin, how supply and demand have nothing to do with oil prices: (Talk about voodoo economics.) "It's the speculators!!", or "It's OPEC's fault. We're suing them" (Oh, good idea Nancy Pelosi) or "It's Bush and Cheney's fault!! We have no idea how. But, they're oil men!! We just know they're responsible!!" (Yeah, we'll find that secret memo someday. You know the one that says Bush and Cheney get a 10% cut on every gallon of gas.)
Oh sure, the Dems in Congress are willing to fix these problems - in January after Obama is inaugurated. Until then they'll let the American consumer twist in the wind, so they can protect the caribou and the snail darter, while anybody who has to buy much gas, diesel fuel or heating oil becomes the endangered species here.
And let's hope the world economy doesn't slide off a cliff along with ours in the meantime. Yeah, that would be a big joke, wouldn't it?
Dave at 3:42PM on Jun 30th 2008
7.
The "wedge driving" you refer to isn't working anymore, hence the afforementioned "memo".
It's all the conservatives had. Now, our nation is on the verge of bankrupcy, our infrastructure is falling apart, people are losing their jobs by the millions - It's pretty hard to find a "wedge," when the majority have to worry about their jobs and homes.
The conservative, money grabbing, bigoted leeches highjacked Lincoln's progressive republican party, and have succeeded in destroying it. Let's not let them do the same to the whole country.

8. Dave, one of the issues that Governor bush originally campaigned on was the price of a barrel of oil under the Clinton Administration. It ran between $20 & $30 per barrel.
Oil prices, Dave? When you think about oil prices, think about the Iraq occupation.
When it comes to the economy in general, think about the roughly 12 billion dollars per month that we print up to pay to keep troops in Iraq and to line the pockets of the war profiteers.
Think about what will happen when LAME DUCK DUMBYA lauches an all out war on Iran. Watch what happens to the price of oil -and everything else- when that happens.
BTW, where are we going to get the troops to take on Iran? How are we going to put boots on the ground on top of all that Iranian oil we are about to steal?
Are we going to put "security forces" in Israel for their "protection?"
How are we going to pay for the new cold war, when republican friend, Red China and Russia say, "This is where we draw the line."
Dave. we can't survive much more of the neocons you support.
Captain Negative at 4:22PM on Jun 30th 2008
9. Post script, Dave.
That wasn't a "democratic talking point list" that Cenk referenced. It was your own party's acknowledgment of just how badly your party has screwed everything up.
Captain Negative at 4:27PM on Jun 30th 2008
10. hey, dave, why isn't it the speculators?
Republicans and libertarianism are 100% responsible for gas prices being what they are. Enough people are onto that this year that your chicken little routine only convinced the already paranoid neocon or neocon dupe.
Most of us ain't fighting them over there so we can protect marriage and rev babymama hussein fist jabs. Not this time. You should try a new act. Know any Neil Diamond?
Clif Kuplen at 4:40PM on Jun 30th 2008
11. I can't really think of any candidate from either party who operates as if their "seat" were safe.
Are there Democrats who've decided to just not campaign at all this year because they feel Bush-stank is going to make it impossible for any Republican to seriously challenge their seat?
Once again, Cenk picks out a few zingers and run with it.
Lest anyone forget, around the time talk of a certain spooge-stained little blue dress was making the rounds, there were a number of Democratic seat-holders and hopefuls who were concentrating on local issues as well.
Realistically, incumbent fatigue probably is going to work in favor of the Democrats this time around. But if a bunch of them get in office and stumbli-f**k around for a couple of years like the last batch from '06 did, don't be so sure the tide won't turn again.

12. Hey there Big Guy,
I have to agree. The GOP is in decline right now. John McCai...John McCai...as our parties presidential nominee is evidence of that.
Willet at 6:30PM on Jun 30th 2008
13. Apparently, there is a small trickle of conservatives who are voicing their support for Obama. They call themselves Obamacons and while they have their respective reasons for supporting Obama, they all agree that George W has been a disaster and that McCain is likely to be an even bigger one should he be elected.
randy at 6:46PM on Jun 30th 2008
14. Obama Birth Certificate Photoshopped????????
One of Obama's attack dogs from N.H. has a legal challange against McCain and McCain's status as a legal citizen. McCain was born outside the USA as a child of a US Serviceman. Obama is trying to get McCain disqualified as a citizen as needed to be to run for President. The US Senate in a non binding vote voted to back McCain as being a qualified citizen and able to run for President. This vote does not alter anything in the courts. Obama's attack dog could win and McCain could be disqualified from running for President.
Obama had been refusing to release his birth certificate until just recently when he did release one, and it is shown on his web site. Problem is it is not signed and notorized nor is there any offical stamp visable.
That raises the question, was his birth certificate photoshopped and if yes, why?????
Obama, before setting his attack dogs loose on anyone should be careful he does not have anything he is hiding. Would love to see a real birth certificate from Hawaii. October surprise early???

15. Cliff - Your over reliance on the "babymama" thing makes it ironic that you'd ask me if I have anything new. And speculators don't drive the price. They just ride the market trends.
High oil prices are Bush's fault? Cap, what evidence do you have for that claim, other than a slight increase in aggregate oil usage and slight increase in price because of our presence in Iraq?
I doubt I have to tell you that correlation doesn't prove causality. Aren't you a PI or something? If you used that kind of sloppy logic and reasoning in your professional life, you'd be out of work in a heartbeat. Voodoo politics.
